Tried this place that's been around in Mt Dora for a while. The food was ok, but not too willing to make any accommodations to the menu. I asked for over easy egg on my sandwich and she said they only do well done. So I ended up getting crustless quiche. Ambiance was very nice.

We stumbled upon this little gem during our Mount Dora weekend getaway and let's just say, it was love at first bite! The staff are the kind of friendly that makes you feel like a regular by your second sip of coffee. The food? Absolutely delicious. The coffee? Strong enough to fuel our exploring. We loved it so much, we went back for breakfast again the next day because why mess with perfection? The Egg on Everything Bagel with honey mustard toasted right into it is next-level genius, and the quiche of the day? A solid "don't skip it" recommendation from us.

On the last morning of our weekend getaway, we decided to try Cody's on 4th for breakfast. Almost all of the tables on the sidewalk were already filled so we chose a table inside. We were warmly greeted and had our choice of any table inside the place. I will admit, I am a complete and total iced tea snob. Give me old tea, give me a tea mix, give me tea from equipment that hasn't been cleaned...I can tell and your score goes down automatically. Cody's has the BEST fresh brewed iced tea I have had in a long time! Oh my hell yes! I ordered the Asiago bagel salmon sandwich, served with a little fruit cup. Absolutely DIVINE! My dining partner ordered the asparagus Brie quiche, also served with a fruit cup. She was nice enough to share a bite - so good! A crustless quiche that was SO good! Everything - and I mean EVERYthing - was super fresh and perfect. No nasty fruit on the bottom, no mass produced, pre sliced tomatoes - everything was FRESH. I would hate to say one breakfast was THE HIGHLIGHT of our little getaway vacation, but...‍

As I continue to discover what tasty Mount Dora has to offer, I was pleasantly surprised at Cody's today. You know a sandwich is good when you don't have to add a single thing to it. My pastrami on rye bread ($14.50) was excellent! Tasty sweet tea to go along with it is the smart choice. I was also given a bag of sea salt chips to go with the sandwich, a sliver of pickle, and a packet of mustard. I appreciated the mustard on the side - I prefer to pick my own condiments rather than have them slathered excessively, spoiling the natural flavor of a good sandwich. This simple eatery is a standout in Mount Dora for their fresh-baked goods and delicious breakfasts. I heard another patron rave about their tortellini salad today too, so much so that they ordered an extra side to take home. THAT is getting your grub on - and then some. Good eats!

Just finished mount dora 5 k and went to come in for a drink to go! I got a chai latte! The staff are friendly and the decorations are warm and cozy! Chai latte is yummy and worth the money to get!!!

Biscuits and sausage gravy! Best I've ever had.

Nice setting inside. Server was not as attentive as I would have liked. Had to ask another server for a coffee refill otherwise this would have been 5 stars. That being said, the absolute best biscuits and sausage gravy I have ever had. Definitely homemade. Lots of fresh ground sausage. Tons of flavor.

I am still dreaming about the Hangover breakfast sandwich three weeks later. We were are party to four on a Saturday morning while visiting the magical town that is Mount Dora. We sat outside under an umbrella and had the best carrot cake as an appetizer. Fresh herbs were picked for cocktails straight from garden pots out front. The service was lovely. The food notably good- as mentioned, the hangover sandwich was superb!! Everyone was pleased with their meals. I'd like to frequent Cody's!!

A fresh bagel breakfast sandwich will have you saying yum! I chose to build my own with an Everything bagel, sausage, chipotle gouda and hot sauce. The fruit bowl was a delightful mix of blueberry's, grapes, banana, orange and strawberry's. We enjoyed a Peach Bellini and mimosa to drink with breakfast.

Stopped here to get a bite in the morning and it was packed! It's definitely a popular spot. The service was friendly and my to go order of a BLT was taken quickly. Unfortunately the kitchen was very overwhelmed by the full cafe because my simple sandwich took forever. And once I got it I wasn't impressed. BLT's are simple but they can still be messed up. I think this is a cute place but it can't handle large volumes.

Yelpers came through, yet again! The food we ordered and service were excellent! The better half ordered their Twisted Cuban sandwich and although I had a sandwich already picked out (from their online menu) in my mind, they had a daily special on the board that caught my interest - a prime rib double patty burger w/ cheeses. The chef explained how she prepares the patties and cooks them up - SOLD! I went for it, and so happy I did! It was one of the best burgers I have ever had - BURP! Whatever the seasonings were (I have no doubt she told me, but forgot) were great and the meat was so tender and juicy (not greasy). I've had pleasant dreams about this burger ever since. It came with homemade chips too, which were good. The Twisted Cuban was also enjoyed by the wife. Although we will return when we visit Mount Dora and my goal will be to have one of their delicious looking sandwiches I may have to have that darn burger again if they happen to have it on their specials board! They sell a few prime cuts of meat from a small display case, which is something I would consider if I lived locally. Or, maybe I'll just have to bring a cooler the next time.

Their hours are verified online, but it's easy to park and run into them at the corner. While I was there, I noticed several people came in to get sandwiches and their Service was friends and multiple people were saying how much they liked it. They have a few tables indoors as well as outdoors where you can sit different sandwich and have something to sip on as well. Nothing fancy here, but definitely delectable.

The Southern burger was great, but I tossed off the raw onions as I absolutely hate them, and added the lovely pickled onions from my wife's salad, which gave the perfect amount of flavor and color. Don't you agree? Give me a LIKE if you do !!! The crepe was next level. Delicate crepe, very soft ripe bananas, sauce was not disgustingly sugary, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and soft, not icy and sweet. Dunno what brand they use, or if they churn the cream fresh in-house, but it made my day.

There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

My boss had mac grilled cheese (the one with ribeye) and said the macaroni made it a bit blend so for more flavor you should probably go with classic grilled cheese sandwiches. He also complained about ground beef in his sandwich so if you expect cut pieces of ribeye I guess that's not what you would get. I had a good experience with my sandwich though except kimchi! The location is really cool and hipsterish. Outside seating is the best part! Service was fairly quick (within 15 minutes).

Asked for a water immediately, and set my things down before going to the restroom... which was clean, easy to find, and well stocked, so zero issues there! Hehehe..... When I returned, I had a water and the bar menu as well as the lunch menu waiting for me. I ended up getting the Crooked Can/Frog and Monkey collaboration IPA, which was lovely. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich, because reading it on the menu outside was what had originally drawn me into the restaurant, and a cup of the French Onion soup rather than getting the fries that came with. The soup was up first, and it was delightful- nice, hardy chunks of onion without being too big/sliding off my spoon, a well developed broth, and a fantastic amount of cheese. The sandwich was lovely, great slices of turkey and decently sized pieces of brie and apple to go along with it. Unfortunately, when I went to get the second half of my sandwich, I noticed what looked like a dark beard hair on it.... as I was dining alone, and my long hair was tied up, definitely not mine. I called over my server, and I pointed it out to her... she asked if I wanted to have a new sammie or get it taken off the bill. I asked if I could pay for the soup, since I had finished it, but not the sammie and she absolutely agreed to that. I wrapped up my meal and left to keep going on my day. Everywhere has issues occasionally, but this was handled well, so I will mention it, and I do knock off a star for this visit, but I am still willing to try again if I am in the area.

That's what we did that morning. Ambiance was great. It felt like each little dining area was a different room in a big, semi-haunted mansion. Eclectic books and paintings and mirrors and other baubles adorned much of the walls, making for plenty of looking around time during you meal. Very fun. Service was really good. The pacing of the meal was great, and our server was very friendly. We were always with drink, and she knew the menu backwards and forwards, even the special dishes of the night. As for the food, we went whole hog with two apps, two mains, and a dessert to share. Out of everything we ordered, only one of them remains on the current menu, which is a great sign. I love a rotating, seasonal menu. It shows effort, and it definitely encourages return patronage. We started with the Ciabatta Board (toasted ciabatta, house butter made with sun dried tomato, roasted red pepper, parmesan, garlic, chive). This was nice. It was very sun dried tomato, so if you don't like them, don't get this. But very soft, toasty bread made this very lovely. We also got an escargot app which was very creamy and soup-like. The snails were complimented well by the spinach. And the whole thing came with a nice little breadstick. I saved some of the bread from the board for some sopping. Pro move. For our mains, we got a miso butter New York strip and some sort of Asian themed duck. For both mains, the proteins were cooked very very well, and the portion sizes were a good size compared to what I was expecting. Both sets of taters were good. The mash was very smooth and creamy, the roasted baby potatoes were cooked all the way through and were nice and naturally buttery. Both were served with a seasonal veg mix that was pretty ok. It rounded out the plate, but it won't change your world or anything. We finished off with one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had. Incredibly smooth with the perfect cheesecake density, the perfect amount of chocolate chips inside, and a nice little crust that added that little bit of texture that is needed from the crust. Overall, quite a meal! To survive in a small town with these prices and those quality ingredientes and that unique of a menu design is very impressive. I will certainly be back.
