Little hole-in-the-wall neighborhood bar. It's not really a cafe - NO food! Bud Light on tap - $1, $2, or $3 choices. Nice crowd for a Monday night. Bartenders were accommodating There is an all-season enclosed smoking room next door.

bilrus bar, what an adorable popcorn machine!

I really wanted to like this place…read more I came here on New Year's Eve and they had a free buffet, which honestly set the bar pretty high. Simple food but done well -- a sub, stroganoff, salad. Nothing fancy, just generous and genuinely appreciated. Between that and seeing all the events at The Hut (bands, brunch, paint & sip, Super Bowl parties), I fully planned on coming back. Unfortunately, this return visit changed my mind. I ordered the turkey Reuben with onion rings. The onion rings were cooked so hard they lost all flavor, and the turkey was smoked but extremely dry. To make matters worse, there was a small piece of blue plastic or bristle in the sandwich. Service was polite, but uncomfortable at times. The older man -- who I believe may be the owner -- lingered very close, seemed shaky, and poured drinks far stronger than intended. I usually appreciate a generous pour, but these were unbalanced and not enjoyable. When the bill came, there was a cash vs credit price option, and we were told we were the first guests to use the new system. Even so, the total still didn't match the menu prices we ordered from, and that wasn't clearly explained upfront, which made the experience confusing. Ambiance-wise, it's a classic dive bar -- no complaints there. Live bands, lots of events, and a hole-in-the-wall feel. That part is honestly the strongest draw. For anyone unfamiliar, this used to be Mangan's Irish Hut for years. The original owners retired, someone new bought it, and now it's just "The Hut." The Irish Hut signage is still on the building, with BBQ signage in spots as well, so it feels like the place is still finding its identity. If I'm speaking directly to the owner: there is potential here. The event ideas and community focus are great. But food consistency, drink balance, menu accuracy, and clearer communication all need attention.

My friends ordered chicken and they loved it lightly breaded and was cooked right. They have several beers on tap, I would say about 10, I had Yuengling. Our server was super nice and kept our beers full all evening. They had a singer come in too, and it was Wednesday evening. Wasn't pricey either so would come back.

We stopped in for the half-off pizza special on Monday, and it did not disappoint. I got the margarita pizza with added chicken, and it was excellent. The Detroit-style crust was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. It was trivia night, and Maria was a fantastic host who kept the energy up and made the whole evening a lot of fun. The place was also packed for the U.S. World Cup game, which made for an exciting atmosphere. To top it all off, my team finished second in trivia and we won a $10 gift card! Great beer, great pizza, friendly staff, and a fun, lively atmosphere, I'll definitely be back.

Hostess was really nice but the waitress didn't seem like she could be bothered. I had to flag down someone else to get some napkins. I had the Oven Baked Grinder, which is basically just an Italian Sandwich. I liked that they give you the Italian Dressing on the side so that you can decide how much you want on it. Coleslaw was surprisingly good. Beer selection is good being a brewery, but unfortunately I don't remember what I had now. I do also remember the beer menu being really difficult to read.

There are Detroit-themed sports logo's on the ceiling. There is plenty of lighting and seating. I do believe they could benefit with more servers but hopefully that will come in time. Our server was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable, served items on time and checked in on us. Like many people, I love pizza, and this pizza was one of the best I've every had. I like regular ol' pepperoni pizza. They used the old-world (cup and char) pepperoni which to me is the most delicious with that crunch followed by a burst of pepperoni flavor...mmmmm! The crust and sauce were just right. The cheese was of high quality where it was smooth and not chewy. Loved that pizza. Now, on to the other item I enjoyed to hilt...that French-onion soup was perfection. The broth was dense enough to deliver a great taste of both beef and onion. The onions were soft and plenty. Again, that cheese was awesome. Normally, I only eat a little of the cheese atop French-onion soup as it is very chewy but this stuff was smooth and really went down well. My friends loved their pretzel sticks and dip. They really liked the dip a lot. The beers were delivered in tall cold glasses and my wine was served at a perfect chilled temperature in a nice wine glass. I can't wait to go back and taste other menu items.
