I have been coming here for years but it was my first time since they revamped the building and updated it. Luckily not much changed. It is still a great local hangout even though the beer prices seemed to have gone up a little, but still very reasonable. One note, it is cash only so remember to bring the greenbacks. Great little hidden gem - Darko and his staff are the best - food and drinks are outstanding

Has great curb appeal, the vestibule is a little odd. Really nice once you enter the bar. About five tables, not counting the shuffle board table. Nice long bar with a decent tap. The service was a little slow but very friendly. I think everyone that worked there stopped to see if our food was good-and it was. Surprisingly good. Some of the best restaurant chili I have ever had, the BLT was very tasty and more than a little unconventional. Served on a hamburger bun. My colleague had the steak sandwich that he said was very good. So over all the food is excellent and I want to go back and try the steak sandwich and a burger-they look awesome. Very nice neighborhood bar. Staff is friendly and they also got the kitchen open and the food is on point.

Okay, the hilltop bar is by far one of my favorite places to go simply because they're not trying to be something they aren't. Draft selection is from 2 to 3 kinds of beer. They don't carry any dark beers (amber or otherwise), and their top shelf is $40 bottles- johnny walker black for example. But if you need a beer and don't want to deal with the long waits and snooty, horse-faced self-entitled waitresses (hello downtown utica) then this is where you're going tonight. Get your beer, put some good classics on the juke box, turn on the window ac unit, and relax. Nobody cares that you're at a low class place because at least you won't have to deal with all the douchebags from high school that go to the locker room saloon and cactus jacks. Go you. read more

2009 - 2010 I went there a few times. I knew one of the employees ( think she was only employee at the time) that gross place was washing and reusing drinking straws. They also bought booze from stores and refilled bottles on display. Hopefully the owner who lived behind the place sold it. I found the place to be pretty gross. read more

Had a party here last night with 30 people. Darko was a gracious host and Cathy, the bartender, rocked!!!! Not only did she take care of our big group, she solely cared for everyone in the place. She remembered names, orders, and remained cheerful and pleasant the entire night. What a delight!! We chatted with other patrons coming and going throughout the evening. Sickest bar in the twp. Darko is the man, even through his thick accent he is still a sweetheart. The drinks are cheap. How cheap? So cheap even a five dollar hooker could catch a buzz. First time, great experience. End of night, maybe 1am.only people in there though. Played jukebox and shuffleboard. Bartender showed us how to play on that board which was nice. He was really nice even though it was so close to closing time. Will definitely be back. Been searching for the best neighborhood bar hole in wall type and this is the first place contender I think. read more

Another 3 star bar for the Utica/Shelby Twp area. Don't expect much from this place and you'll do alright. Its low class, pure and simple. I love dives, but this is about at my limit. It is relatively clean though, and usually not too busy. I would recommend staying out of the bathrooms. read more
