Great dive bar that's been around forever. I can't believe I've never been here before but found myself over in the area on Thursday night and thought why not stop in and watch the Lions game? It wasn't busy which was surprising since it was a Lions home game but it does seem to be a regulars type bar. My friend and I were welcomed and our two bartenders were friendly and attentive. Drink prices were more than reasonable and I'm not sure if they left off a round but the bill seemed pretty low for what we were drinking. We gave a nice tip and will be back to try some of their food items. The menu looked like typical bar food and again the prices were very reasonable. $9 for a burger, etc. They also had daily drink and food specials. One of the regulars said the fish and chips was excellent so that's on the list for next time. read more

Met a few friends at RJ's. First time visiting there. It's a little divey, but the food and drinks were good. Had the Reuben sandwich which was great, very juicy, and I recommend. read more

They cut us off after 3 three drinks and two shots. And they said that it was a legal thing to cut us off. I've never been cut off before a bar and I Uber. I will never step foot in that bar again. And if you'd like to drink, don't go to that bar it will cut you off. we weren't rude or loud or anything that extent and my wife and I were doing karaoke songs and they kicked us off. Came here with w few colleagues yesterday for a good old fashion bar burger and, we got exactly what we were hoping. Place was packed with what we thought to be all the gents who had just put in an all-nighter, working on the roads, plowing snow and laying salt. Detroit was hit with it's first winter storm and they were all there enjoying a burger and brew themselves. We wanted to go out for a drink near the hotel we were staying in Michigan. After looking up some reviews on Yelp. We decided upon RJ's. Everyone talked about how friendly the service was. The service was really friendly. The drinks were cheap. I had a whiskey and water, and it was only $4. This wasn't a happy hour. It was just regular price. Also you can do some gambling in Michigan bars. G played some online Keno and won $10. This bar is an awesome dive bar. It's just people drinking, playing pool, and hanging out. I totally recommend this place if you're ever in Sterling Heights. We actually went three different days. The server even remembered our drink order the second day. We also tried the food. Its cheap. The meatloaf sandwich is the bomb. The sliders are also OK. read more

Our Adobt-a-Highway club on that stretch of Van Dyke have been going there for years after our clean ups & today was the best day & service we've ever received! The food was better, too! At one point, I kid you not, I actually said "the wait staff show up as if by magic"!! I would think about something or start to do something & BAM, there they were!! Can't wait to go back! I love this place! It is a local spot. The service is always AMAZING! The bartender Amanda is on point! I suggest you go in there and see her. The drinks and food are delicious. I always get their "Widowmaker" burger. HUGE fresh burger, with a generous portion of fries. If you go in and ask Amanda to make you "something you've never had", she will make a delicious drink, just for you. Her mixology skills are phenomenal. It's a dive sports bar, but it looks clean and the people inside were very nice. Don't know about the food. Had about a half an hour before I was suppose to meet my son and daughter-in-law for lunch so me and my sister (Sandra C) decided to stop for a happy hour!!!! :-) Ordered a glass for both of us of cabernet and oh my what a pour!!! It was like between the two of us we almost got a whole bottle and it was only $4 a glass! What a deal. Needless to say by the time we got to my son and daughter-in-law we were very very happy!!!! Traveled over a hour to meet some friends. My buddy ordered 3 Irish car bombs when they were delivered to the table the "shot" was already mixed into the beer where it curdled and sat at the top of the beer. Anyone knows to drink a Irish car bomb you dunk the shot in the glass and slam before it curdles. We literally couldn't drink it being it was disgusting when talk to the bar tender (Amanda) she said there was nothing she could do about it and they are "expensive " to waste.. it was not our fault she didn't know how to make the drink and serve it the correct way. So we cut our losses and left them on the table and continued to drink something they couldn't mess up . Bottled beer lol. But we paid our tab and we will never attend rjs again. read more

A bar that was almost missed was Rj's Bar & Grill. This bar was off the beaten path of where we usually venture and it would have been shame if we missed it. As soon as we walked into the place we were immediately stared at by all 6 people in the bar... but the Silver Fox just got a hair cut so this is a common theme. We walked up to the bar and ordered a $5 high life pitcher and it came with free popcorn. Instantly, we like the place. I was a large bar that look like it could start jamming on the weekends. The burgers we odered were the RJ's Deluxe and the Original Hamburger. The RJ's Deluxe 1/2lb burger came with coleslaw,pickles, lettuce, tomato. Burger -2.5 Price - 4 Service - 4.75 Overall - 3.75 The original 1/2lb came with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Burger - 3 Price - 3 Service - 4 Overall - 3.25 Besides the bar maid Tina being awesome, there was a point when we asked for our bill and we had to wait longer than usual with empty glasses. To ensure we were happy customers, Tina poured us a beer on her for our hardships. It was a great gesture that reflects in our service score.
