Be certain to ask them for a card and to not put a sticker on your computer. My experience was negative on the whole. I asked them if they felt comfortable diagnosing something I had difficulty solving and informed them that I was competent with building and servicing PCs. When I received my computer back, they mentioned that they had reinstalled Windows because of an improper boot partition. They were wrong. The problem stemmed from a bug in the 24H2 update of Windows that did not play nicely with either of my Western Digital NVME drives. I discovered the bug on Reddit and updated my SN770 2TB storage drive's firmware, though I noticed it (the drive itself) would appear and disappear. This was a new problem. So low and behold my computer updated again to 24H2 and same problem as before. Apparently the SN550 Boot Drive was also experiencing the same issue with DRAM-less WD drives, but was not given an update option nor was it validated as being a problem by WD. This necessitated a new drive for my OS, so I went with Crucial. Insofar as I was taking my computer apart to install a drive, I explored the issue with my storage drive. Bits and Bytes had broken the primary NVME port on my motherboard so that drives would no longer fit securely. When speaking with the technician, he mentioned he had never seen a board quite like that and had trouble extricating the drive. I fixed the problem myself and all it cost was $150 to Bits and Bytes, a new hard drive for my OS, a new motherboard, and a lot of time. I will not be going back.

I'm pretty much a Neanderthal when it comes to computers and any accessories related to the functioning of technical equipment. If something goes wrong with my laptop, printer or some other gadget that we can't live without today, I'm loathe to take it somewhere to get it fixed. Places like Best Buy or other repair shops are worse than car mechanics when it comes to price gouging, let alone actually fixing the issue. Chris actually explains to me what is wrong with my laptop or printer or whatever and how he is going to fix it. Even if I'm too dense understand, he won't take that for granted. Once, my laptop's screen went completely blank, I couldn't afford to buy a new one at the time. He got the replacement part & got it working again for about $50. Another time, I was too simple to get my wireless printer to print. Okay, I had never been able to get it to print without connecting the cable directly to my computer. I called Chris and he was able to solve the problem remotely, that night. If I ever have another issue, I would definitely use Miltronics again.

That would have been a 4-star review, except that I took it to another local place, and seven days later they had my data for me. I get back the diagnoses and we decide that we are going to try and replace my motherboard to fix the issue. HERE IS WHERE THE ISSUE STARTS So.. RICKY sent me a list of motherboard suggestions and also wrote "you can also search i7 9700k motherboard and those will work" So I find the motherboard that interests me, put it in my cart and send Ricky an email asking if this motherboard would work for my setup. I wait 5 hours.. no reply (which is fine) so I waited until 4pm and decided to give Ricky a call and ask him in voice if they motherboard was good because I didn't want to waste $200. So I call him and tell him which motherboard I have and asked if that was gonna work... His response..? Ricky - "Ugh did you search i7 9700k motherboard? (Super rude tone)" Me- "yeap! Just wanted to make sure I assumed correctly" Ricky - (sarcastically as fuck) "WELL you ASSUMED correctly if you typed in i7 9700k motherboard" So I ignore the first time he was rude to me and wrote it off as him having a bad day and just go ahead and order the motherboard from newegg. It turns out that it was going to take until March 10th to get here and I didn't have time to wait until March 10th.. so I went to bestbuy to find a "i7 9700k motherboard" (because that was the only specification given by Mr. RICKY. I also didn't want to call him again and ask if this new motherboard was okay because of how rude and demeaning he was last time. So I figured it was fine because I followed the only specifications he gave me. So fast forward a couple of days I arrive at the store with my computer and i7 9700k motherboard and drop it off. I receive a call a couple of hours from RICKY, and this is how it went Me- "hey whats up man" Ricky - "This isn't the motherboard you were originally bringing here" Me- "Yeah I didn't want you to have to wait until march 10th to fix it, so I went to bestbuy and got one that came sooner" "The geeksquad guy at bestbuy told me it would work with my processor so I didn't want to bother you and call you again" Ricky- What do you mean so I would have to wait? YOU would have to wait until March 10th, I don't have to wait for anything. I am the person working on your computer so you need to contact me, if you want to ask the bestbuy guy stuff then take your computer to bestbuy" ^ is this REALLY how you want to talk to your customers buddy? I am a restaurant hospitality manager, this man has no respect for your customers and is there just to make a paycheck. After that phone call I came to pick up my computer and asked afro man in the front to speak to Ricky. Apparently RICKY had vanished in 3 minutes because apparently he wasn't able to come to the front. And after I asked to speak to Ricky, Bob Ross told me to "take my computer, leave the store, and go to best buy" oh, also threatened to call the cops on me and a friend after we laughed called him rude as fuck. Really guys? This is the kind of customer service you're shooting for? Please drop an email below where I can contact you Aaron. Your employees need a reality check. To sum it up - Ricky is legitimately telling your customers to fuck off and go to best buy. I'd love never seeing that guy there again. Unfortunately my old, 5SE iPhone which I need because of manual dexterity problems, couldn't be repaired by the new, young tech and ended up in worse shape than before. The floating Home button cannot be eliminated, the regular Home button which had been difficult to push is permanently stuck. It is now Friday evening and I'll have to wait until Monday to somehow get the phone down to Peak Wireless and have Jeff and his crew work their magic on it.
