    5+ weeks old bread

I review it before, this a super size bakery, I like most their bread but really not like some of the "packing's", they do used # 4 plastic which is better but like I mention before, not like the "heat sealed clear plastic inner wrapping" Which I concerned during the heat sealed actions plastic can possible released unsafe material to their yummy breads.

You too can be a BIMBO!

I'm such a fan of BIMBOs... BIMBO Bakery corporation that is. Not too many people recognize the BIMBO brand name (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bimbo-bakeries-usa-horsham-2?select=yjIUCtBzf4-7_djLJEASdQ#yjIUCtBzf4-7_djLJEASdQ), and most snicker at the name as I did before I started winning things from them. To shed some light on BIMBO, they own the brands: - Sara Lee - Ball Park - Boboli - Francisco - Oroweat - Entemann's - Thomas' English muffins - And their own BIMBO brand with the white bear in a chef's hat So now that your "Ah-Ha" moment has past, all of you have finally realized that you too have had close encounters with BIMBOs and never even realized it! For some of you out there BIMBO encounters are a pretty common occurrence. You should bookmark their website (http://bimbobread.com/) for the reasons below: BIMBO never entered my RADAR until we won a year's supply of bread from them! Rather than loaves of bread arriving at your doorstep, they send you 52 coupons worth $3.50 each for you to go and try anything they have to offer. Good stuff, but it even gets better; we won twice more and went to two Major League Soccer games at the Home Depot Center featuring the LA Galaxy vs. Chivas USA all on the bankroll of BIMBO's. Of course the Galaxy won both games :). While they aren't the major sponsor for Chivas USA anymore, you still see Chivas fans with BIMBO on their shirts - very appropriate in my opinion! So not sure if we were that lucky, or it's just so easy to win - because for the bread contest, there are 10 winners each week! Enter all their contests via their website. As far as the bread quality goes, this may not beat fresh bread from local bakeries; but given their vast distribution network, this is one corporate bakery business that tries to cover all the bases to satisfy customers from all walks of life. Bimbo Bakeries USA is the American corporations of Grupo Bimbo from Mexico. They are the largest baker company in the United States. So go get you some BIMBOs! I did and was very satisfied!

Not a bad mirror shot, eh?

A yummy 3.8 stars for their Gansito cookies--almost like a smaller Wagon Wheel, without the marshmallow. Same incredible raspberry filling in the centre, a bit chewy and a great crunch cookie, very fresh. Kinda what ones expect from a Sara Lee brand lol. Buy at Walmart, as Canada doesn't offer this, or at least, in Vancouver, BC. 2 per package, 10 cute ones in a box.

Last week I bought a pack of Tia Rosa whole wheat tortillas. Half of them were rotten with mold. I tossed the pack out. This week I bought another. Every one of those tortillas had big spots of mold! The tortillas were not out of date. I called, complained, and was offered coupons. Rather than tempt fate, I requested a refund for the two packs. I now have a month to wait for corporate to cut me a check. I'm sorry to say I will not want to eat anything made by Bimbo in the future; I just don't trust them to provide wholesome food. I've posted a picture of some of the tortillas up on the front page to illustrate my point. I wish Bimbo well in the future and hope that they will be able to get back on track.

Bait and switch, bitter taste, stale bread. yuck

    Lilit's Bakery - Macaroon

Lilit's bakery is a wonderful hidden gem in Hatboro. They make outstanding, european style pastries…read moreas well as coffees, teas. Smoothies, and savory food. Once a week I treat myself to one of their fruit tarts and it's something I look forward to. Today I tried a mango passionfruit confection that was absolutely unreal. The place is clean and cozy, with friendly staff. Would make an excellent date spot.

Perhaps stopping by on a late Sunday afternoon is not the best time to capture the full Lilit…read moreBakery experience. When I arrived after a very good Mexican lunch further up York Road there wasn't much to choose from in their display case. A few pastries were about all there was. Not a loaf of bread to be found. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and helpful, but she couldn't provide what I was really looking for, great brownies or a fresh fruit pie or coffee cake to take home. So, I opted for a Carrot Cake pastry and a large Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were adequate, but less than the rapturous experience I was hoping for. The Choco Chip was very sweet and crunchy, but without many chocolate chips. The Carrot Cake looked great, but its flavor was muted. The cake was not as moist as I anticipated, and the icing with a mild light cream texture, as opposed to the heavier cream cheese topping I was expecting. Not at all what I was craving. Sure, it may have saved me from calories and a diabetic coma, but I was looking for a small splurge. This place clearly was too healthy and sensible for my moment seeking temporary indulgences. Although the cafe was cozy and sat at sidewalk level, it just didn't "pop" for me. Perhaps, a better time would permit more satisfying results. 3.5 Patisserie Etoiles.

Hmm...so this is the spot in the area if you are looking for gluten free options…read more I get the mom and pop shops have to charge a bit more to stay in business but I never feel like I am getting good value for my money when coming here. I ordered the crabmeat with penne entree and informed the person taking my order please sub out the penne for spaghetti. Not only did I get my meal with penne but it had a minuscule amount of crabmeat in it. I am talking this crabmeat must have all been in the sauce or something as I could not even see it. This entree was not cheap by any means. My girlfriend got a chicken dish and the chicken was very thin.....is this a good thing? Is this the trend now in restaurants? My girlfriend enjoyed it but again is twenty plus dollars reasonable for chicken with gluten free pasta? They have a bakery that makes many options and most are gluten free, which is nice as I feel for those that must adhere to a gluten free diet and the options can be sparse at many restaurants unfortunately in the US. I do not plan on coming back but there is nothing wrong with the place, just imo a bit overpriced. As always people SYOY!!!
