I attempted to stop by the location in Yakima this morning. I pulled and waited for several minutes, then a guy that seemed like he didn't know anything softly asked if I needed help. I told him I had not been there before and asked what to do. He said people normally park out on the street and they bring them a bin. I rattled off what I had in my trailer, with about 2k lbs of steel and iron in it, and he said he wasn't sure what you take and would ask someone. I told him I checked the website and verified, but ok. Another guy came walking out a min or so later and said, "move your car", I told him I was waiting for someone to check my load and gestured to the fact that I was currently blocked in. He told me another customer needed to leave (who could easily pull out without me moving) and in a very hard, almost yell told me "your going to move right now". I told him I was going to leave, never come back, and leave bad reviews and he just walked off, not caring at all. Meanwhile the 1st guy stood there dumbfounded. I got some help from another patron to squeeze back out and went to another place down the road. I was told by others not to go here because the people suck, I thought I would find out for myself... they were right. read more

This place sucks. The owner is a Mean, Rude, disrespectful, Old Man. And he has the most dirty and terrible mouth, far worse than any trucker. The employees inside the yard are actually mostly friendly and easy going, (which is the only reason I am even giving them one star), but the rest of the people who work there are easily described by 3 words - 1. Rude 2. Aggressive 3. Judgemental And the people inside the main office are really the worst of them. If you intend to do business at Binford Metals, I strongly suggest you be absolutely certain that they are your very very last choice. Do yourself a favor and try to find any other business you can, so that you can avoid coming to this place, because 9/10 times you are going to leave either very disappointed or very angry or probably both. And speaking as someone who used to be a very loyal and long time business client customer, don't expect that your loyalty will be worth anything to them. It will not. They will spit on you, and laugh while they do it. Worst of the worst. Although I can say that if you do go to Binford Metals, they will certainly leave a lasting impression on you. I'd rather give no stars. Don't do business here, especially if you're scrapping your vehicle. They'll send the tow guys 3 hrs before the appointment time, and then take all day to come get the vehicle while I have other appointments throughout the day. The appointment was for 1pm, not sooner. This place has really improved over the years. They expanded so big that they pretty much own the whole road side. Most of the employees are very nice and hard working especially in the rainy/winter season! And what they give back for recycling is quite a profit for your pocket. I think it's one of the best places to go In all of Washington Especially since they let go one of thee most rudest employe so I'm happy about that. I showed up on Thursday 10/28 at 3:20. It was pouring rain and my roommate was waiting in the car. She had driven me down to Kent after work. We had both raced home to give us enough time to get there and secure the parts I needed for my vehicle. I drive a 1999 Crv and needed the drivers side door since someone smashed mine in. They said that they had one in my color. I did not know that it was stripped and that the part included only the door frame itself. I wasn't sure what had been damaged in the accident, so I just asked for the door handle mechanism from another vehicle of the same make/model. They seemed irritated. I get it. It was raining. But I was out there with them and I didn't have rain gear since I left in such a hurry! I waited until close. My roommate was stellar, waiting in the car with my dog who had suffered car related anxiety even before someone hit my car when she was inside. Well, I got my items and took them back to the mechanic. He was dismayed at what I offered because he needed more than just the metal exterior of the door. He told me that some of the wires snapped when my door was bent backwards and that my window won't work unless I get the motor. So, I went back on the morning of 11/2. I wanted to get there early because I thought it would be a less busy time for them. It was. There were two people at the desk and no customers when I stepped in. They looked up at me indifferently and asked what I wanted. I explained the situation to them and apologized for the inconvenience. I was told by the woman that if I had needed that pet then I should have asked for it the last time. She complained that the one I received was a more challenging part to extract than the one I now sought. So, it shouldn't have been impossible to get the new part, right? She told me that I would have to come back later. I told her that I couldn't. I had borrowed someone's car to come down. I don't live in Kent and I was already going to be late to work from coming down that morning. She told me that if I wanted to wait that it would be at least 2 hours. 2 hours?! For a part that she claimed was easy to retrieve?! I went back to the car. I considered waiting but decided instead to call around. I spoke to someone at another salvage yard who said in response to my situation "how long?! They must be mad at you". Wow, thanks for the professionalism everyone. Needless to say, I didn't get any more parts from Binford. Fortunately, my amazing mechanic at Seattle Auto Pro sourced the part for me himself. Also, these people have a "don't tread on me" sticker on the cash register. No wonder they didn't like me, haha. read more

5 stars to this place for recycling. 5 bags of aluminum cans usually yields me Around 60$ so I ain't complaining as I recycle them for my dad. They get you in and out fast. I think aluminum cans pays something like 40 cents a pound?? Very professional and polite. Even offer to help me unload. Gets you in and out quick and easy to find place. Ladies in the office doing payments always friendly. Love that they always request id cause you don't wanna buy anything that's hot. I've read some negative reviews before and I can't speak for that but I've been here about 5 times so far and it's been a cake walk each time. Sometimes there may be a line but it depends what people are getting rid of. Can't speak for scrap yard or automobiles cause I don't mess with that read more

As I was waiting to be helped I could hear 3 of the employees behind the counter saying they "didn't want to help these stupid ass Mexicans" who were waiting in line like I was. Probably because they spoke Spanish and couldn't understand them. #2 they're also just flat out rude people and don't care about anybody else's time. I sat there for 35 mins in the front of the line while the employees were just playing around cracking jokes with each other. Regardless terrible company, would not recommend to anybody. Binford recycling is a scam. In other words, they gave one price, but after unloading the aluminum they changed the price to a much lower one (more than half of what they originally said). They don't have a written price list, and even when I tried to get an estimate over email they didn't reply and then wouldn't answer their phone calls. I had to come in person for them to give me and estimate (they said around $1 per pound). Then after I came and unloaded everything (more than 700 pounds of clean aluminium) they changed their price to 45 cents. Today they lost they a regular customer and I will make sure all my acquaintances know that they are not a reputable company. They may have earned around $200 from me today, since I'm not in the position to load/unload such a heavy weight regularly, but in the long term they've lost me as a customer and hopefully others as well if this is how they run their business. read more

Nice that the cars aren't double stacked like the place next door. Price for item was $50, similar used items on ebay $30-$100, so seems reasonable on price. If you don't mind traipsing through muddy lots to comb over the greasy carcasses of dead cars, put BMR on your bucket list. read more

Shitty business. Sent my customer a busted up engine. And when we found out that the engine was messed up internally. We had it planned with James to bring the engine back. So we drove across the state from Spokane to Kent to return the bad engine. Was told by James he would make contact with my customer to issue a refund. No cantact was made by James so my customer got ahold of him. James instantly took the defensive and told us that we were liars and the engine we returned didn't come from their business. He admits the timing cover was broke but insists there was no timing belt. And ever so conveniently the pictures he sent us before the engine was shipped he deleted. I'm posting the two pictures that were sent to us with a missing harmonic balancer. A broken timing cover and clearly has a timing belt on it. A screenshot with James phone number and clearly shows he sent the pictures. He's denying that the engine came from him. This is nonsense. We're going to the better business bureau next. Got sent to the north yard from the south yard and was told all the cars I needed were in the south after being told they were in the north. Not worth the drive at all. Will just start with the fact that I was looking to recycle my old cast iron sink rather than just bring it to a dump. So I didn't care so much about the money (hence me not putting up a fuss when I was there), but wanted to write a review for anyone that is looking to "make some money" recycling their junk. First, make sure to get a quote for what you are recycling. Get the quote and the name of the person who provided it to you. Not just a quote over the phone, but either one in writing via email or just confirm the quote when you drive up (the office is near the exit). I was quoted $0.20 a pound for cast iron when I called (literally 1 hour before arriving). But when I actually got to the office, I was told that was incorrect and was asked who provided that quote, well, of course I didn't get the woman's name as I didn't expect them to bait and switch me. So they not only said that was a high quote, but only gave me the pricing for shredded scrap (about $0.015 per pound). Trent was nice enough to tell me that whoever quoted me that price was completely wrong (though I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy as when they said that price to me on the phone, I repeated the price back to them, and she said yes, that's right). I'm not a professional recycler, so I only know the price that was quoted to me. Second, make sure to take note of the scale reading when you drive in and drive out. The person manning the scales also undercut me on the weight. I weighed in at 5300 lbs and out at 5180 lbs. But on the receipt he gave me it said only 100 lbs. (Again, didn't care about the money, but if you do, make sure to take note). Also make sure that what they write on that receipt is what you actually recycled. I told him cast iron when I cam in, and on the way out (3 minutes later), he wrote shredded scrap. So in the end, was fast and easy, but undercut me on the weight, the type of metal, and the price. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! If i could give them less than one star I would. I live four hours away from there and drove up to pick up a transmission they had told me they had in stock. Keep in mind I called and checked if they still had it before we drove up, literally 4 hours before we arrived to binford. So we get there tell them that we talked on the phone and we were picking up the transmission. They tell us that the transmission is misplaced and that they cant seem to find it. This was 8 hours wasted of our time plus $100 of gas and to top it off I had to leave work early that day to get to binford on time. If they had checked the back instead of just reading off their inventory, at least on one of the multiple phone calls I had with them before heading up there, this would have never happened. We recently bought a transmission from this yard. Understanding you take a chance that the part is not in great condition. They offered us the part $150 less if didn't go with the 30 day warranty. We opted to do this with the guarantee that the part would work. It took our shop 1 week to have time to install it. The day after we got it back it started making noises. We took it back to the shop and they went through it and low and behold the transmission was no good. We called them to ask about the part, and they said even if we had purchased the warranty all they'd have given us is a yard credit of $450. Why would we want to spend $450 at a yard that sold us a faulty part already! read more

You'll find a clean well organized auto parts lot. And you'll be super excited about what you find until you get to the counter and they charge full retail prices for dirty used parts that you pulled yourself. Charged me $10 for a gas cap and a piece of a seat belt yesterday. I found the gas cap online for 5 and their neighbor charged me $2 for the same piece of seatbelt. It was cleaner and in better shape. What prompted this review from me was the little dude at the counter that tried to sell me a stripped, bent, rattle canned Nissan d21 tail gate for $75 and tried to tell me they ask $150 for a (used) straight complete one. That's a joke. They're $140 new and primered, free delivery online. I found a complete color matching straight tail gate at the wonderful competition (budget in auburn) for the same $75 these chuckle heads asked. It proved my suspicion that the customer is being gouged at Binford. This was my third trip and have left items at the counter every time. read more
