The thing about bike shops is they're nearly always universally a fun place to be with nice people there. Bingham is no exception, but after visiting four other shops the same morning, what I liked most about Bingham was their level of knowledge about the bikes they're selling. Modern bikes aren't cheap, and having someone that knows what they're talking about really makes the experience better. Angela really knows her stuff and was very friendly and helpful. She helped me get the exact eBike I wanted and needed and took the time to explain everything to me. Don't get me wrong--the other shops were also helpful and the people treated me great. Went in looking for an e-bike, the salesman only seemed interest in selling me his stock. I was looking for class 3 GAZELLE with the most torque 2nd in the largest size. The salesman told me there class 1 could be software upgrade to a class 3. Which seems weird since all other makers the class 3 has a bigger motor. He then told me there is not much difference in 28 mph v 21 mph. He proclaimed to be a Gazelle expert, I asked several times if GAZELLE offered a class 3 and he repeated told me he did not know, I also asked what size of frame and motor would be the best and he kept showing me 50 cm bike. He provided me with last years brochure and did offer look into my questions or offer to order me the bike I was looking to purchase....very disappointed n the level,of knowledge or maybe the guy assumed he could snow me no get me to buy something I did not want! Felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman... I'd like to think my experience is not typical but wanted to tell my experience. read more

I am so impressed with the service we received on my bike. I had issues and brought it in on an unscheduled service visit. Michael was clear about working the bike into getting serviced. He communicated what was happening multiple times. Had an issue that warranty should cover and I have no doubt that Michael will follow up as promised. I picked up the bike today and it rides great. Yes this is one hell of a Specialized Store- and I have to say they have a nice selection starting In Hardtails of $500 on up to the X-Works models which are exactly what you would expect - $$$$ !! As far as the store goes - it's laid out nicely with ebikes, road, XC and mountain models, and seems to have a decent shop in the rear. The customer service is spot-on and I wouldn't hesitate to bring friends here who needed a new bike. Ironic, I expected to only find bike novices and weekenders at Specialized stores, but today I met a team pro in-store sitting on an S-Works model hovering around $9k. My first hint really should've been the out-of-place, muddied but gorgeous Scott bike parked out front! Nice place and worth the time. read more

My girlfriend and I both picked up bikes here about 3 weeks ago. So far we are still very happy with our purchases! They've got a great selection of Specialized bikes, including clearance bikes. I picked up a great 2014 Specialized Allez C2 for less than I could find it online. Since it's next to Pioneer Park they let you take a test ride around the park as many times as you want. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they do a free checkup on the bike around 30 or so days after you buy it. They've got a good selection of gear available as well. They've also got a pretty decent selection of things in their clearance rack for good prices, and actually have more than just sizes XS and XXXXXXL for a change. Overall buying from them was a quick and easy experience and I'm very happy with my purchase and the help I received from them. I'll be making my future bike purchases here. read more

This shop is large, which means a very large selection of bikes. The bike I bought was the previous year model. It was brand new and deeply discounted. There were multiple discounted bikes to choose from! I don't live in the area, so I had to have the bike shipped! The staff was so helpful with bike setup and shipping! They literally took care of everything! I have to include the location is such a cool part of town! The shopping experience was quite fun! I bought 2 e-bikes for $9000, my first ride I ended up with 2 flat tires due to puncture weeds on the bike path. When I went back in to talk to them about it they acted like I was an idiot for not putting fix a flat in the tires. The whole reason I bought bikes from a local shop is to support the economy and for customer service, for the amount I paid I would have thought they would put $3 of fix a flat in for me or at the very least ask me if I would like some put in for a small charge. I also purchased the service plan and everytime I took the bikes in to get work done they would only follow half my instructions. When they would replace parts that were worn I always told them I want the old parts back but they would always throw them away, even if I told them THREE times I wanted the parts back they would not listen. You are better off buying online because they offer horrible service, they don't listen to you and they have no concept of treating a return customer with any respect. I will still buy form local shops but never this one. read more

So I was sent here from another shop to have my dropper post fixed. I ended up getting a full tune and a laundry list of other things done totaling $400. The work, I have to say, was on point. The biggest problem was the guy at the counter. I asked to have my derailleur lock tighted to the hanger as it was coming lose every ride. Picked up the bike, took it for a ride, derailleur came loose. I looked at the ticket and the counter employee obviously wasn't listening to me and noted on the order that my derailleur hanger needed lock tight. Having said, everyone is entitled to their mistakes and I probably wouldn't have mentioned it but as I was finishing up dropping my bike off I remembered it needed a brake bleed on the rear. I told the counter employee and he gave me a dirty look and said he'd already printed my order ticket. So I'm thinking so what but I just apologized, which I really wish I hadn't as bike shops are obviously struggling and here I am trying to give them work and I was treated very poorly for trying to give even more money to this shop. After adding the brake bleed to the ticket the employee asked me, in a very condescending tone, "are you sure that's all" "I can print the ticket now?" Like having to reprint a ticket is putting him out or something. There was absolutely no one in the shop at the tile so it's not like he had someone else needing his time. It was really a disgusting way to treat someone who's just trying to support local businesses. I came in this shop about five years ago and again the counter employee was very rude and I decided to not go back. Obviously gave them another chance and was again treated very poorly for wanting to support a local business. Won't be going back here again. Work was great, attitude sucked. read more

Along with their many bicycles they sell bicycle and bicycling accessories of every kind imaginable. If you need clothes, they got 'em. If you need spare parts like tubes, they got 'em. If you need tools, check mate, they got 'em. Every time I've been shopped at Bingham Cyclery the employees have been very knowledge and helpful. They've answered all my questions and made great recommendations about what products would be best for my needs. I've been coming to Bingham Cyclery intermittently for years, and while wasn't necessarily a fan of the customer service, logistically the shop has always been the most suitable option. When I decided I wanted to give mountain biking one last ditch effort (having gone a handful of times in the past fifteen years and hating it), I was pretty sure nothing would change this time around. I was so so so pleasantly surprised, and later downright impressed with Bingham in the end. Chris's effort fitting me for a women specific demo bike, spending at least an hour answering one million (what I thought were probably pretty stupid) questions, and getting all the information I could think of to prepare me for what turned out to be one of the funnest, raddest, awesome days EVER merits a glorious Yelp! review. BEWARE OF MICHELLE SHE IS A SCAMMER Horrible treatment and communication with the customer. I have been a regular customer here for the past 3 months, coming in for my bike flats and to purchase accessories.Two months ago, I came in to replace my front tire and was helped by Justin. He is very well-educated and friendly. He charged me $26 and got it done within a few minutes. Then last week, I took it in to replace my back tire. Michelle was helping me out this time, and let me just say she was very rude and not welcoming. She charged me $40 on the spot when I asked why double the price. They said, "Oh, it will take longer to do the front and it will be ready by 3 pm." It is already 3:45 and I haven't received a phone call or text. I walk back into the store after she sees me. She then goes and brings back my bike. Like, are you kidding me? The following day, after taking my bike out of service, my brakes stopped working, and when I took it back in I was helped by Justin. He quickly diagnosed the issue, saying there was a hole in the break line, and told me it would be a $50 fix. After I agreed, we made an appointment to drop my bike off, but they did not charge me on the spot this time, which I should have taken as a red flag. When I got the text that my bike was ready, they said they had to replace some brake pads but never disclosed that they were charging me for it. When I went back in, a different individual was taking my payment and blindsided me by saying my total was now $107. When I asked how it was this much, he was not sure himself and started saying, "Oh, the part was $50 and then we added labor." I am getting red flags all over. I asked for a printout to which they added multiple different parts that "needed replacing" and the labor was actually $50. Michelle heard him struggling and told him "you can head to the back I'll handle this" after going back and forth with her I simply asked don't you think the customer should know beforehand that you are going to be charging them double the quoted price instead of blindsiding them when you are taking payment to which she just shrugged her shoulders at me and finally said "you know what I can just give you 50% off the labor cost but we will no longer be able to service your bike anymore this my guys spent over 2 hours on your bike and had to take off a lot of parts" and then listed a bunch of other bike shops to go to from here on out. For future customers reading this, you were warned to be very careful around Michelle. I would request to work with Justin because he is very straightforward and loves what he does. I am still in shock at the way Michelle treated me. read more

Irresponsible shop techs didn't torque my stem bolts. Bolts loosened after a few rides and rotated out from under me...ended up with a Grade 3 shoulder separation which threatened my livelihood. NEVER let these amateurs work on your bike. Owner called me and apologized but really didn't seem to care much. They don't understand the responsibility of running a safe bike shop. read more

Just bought my first mountain bike from these guys. What is probably a very intimidating process was super enjoyable. The manager, Joe, as well as the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful in helping me find a bike and helmet which are perfect for me! I plan on returning to get a new saddle as well. Took my aging commuter bike in for a regular tune up and was blown away by the service. We've serviced this bike elsewhere numerous times over the past decade and it's always come back just as gunked up and out of alignment as before. I had chalked up my bad experiences to an aging bike and a tough commute. Clearly I was just taking it out to crummy repair shops because Bingham made it look and ride like new again. I was there for about 20 minutes and although the staff made brief eye contact with me, not one person said anything to me, not even a hello. This shop is not worth any time or effort to get to. Just bought my first legit mountain bike from Binghams, after months of them servicing my old bike. I was in more frequent than I want to admit to, being a rookie mountain biker, but they were ALWAYS able to get my bike fixed up and ready to go before my next ride. Super friendly staff and more than willing to help get your bike back running smoothly. Several other bike shop staff members put off an intimidating, "I'm cooler than you," vibe but, that is definitely not the case at Binghams. I highly recommend the shop to anyone looking for a new bike or needing help servicing their current bike; they also have great gear and cycling accessories! read more

There was one person one the floor but he was on the phone on some personal issue it appeared. I've always had a good experience at Bingham. But I went in Saturday to have some help fixing my clip on my cycling shoes. The service tech was more than happy to look at it, put in a new screw, rotated the clip around and not charge me for the fix. Great shop! I love going into the shop! They carry all of the biking supplies I need, are constantly getting new biking clothing, and have many models of bikes to choose from so I can actually look at the bike in person before I buy it (mountain, road, cyclocross, snow bikes, cruisers, hybrids, etc.). Completely rude and inconsiderate from the moment you walk in the door. Refused to make eye contact with us or give us any recommendations or advice on good road bikes. When we later returned to look at bike racks for our vehicle, having purchased our bikes at a different shop for about $400 less per bike they proceeded to bad mouth the other bike shop. Treated us as inferior for asking pricing questions and trying to get the most bang for our buck. The tried to sell us a bike rack that didn't even fit our model of car! Don't go here. There are many other bike shops in town that will help you purchase and service your bikes. read more

The over priced tune up I received was actually great. I probably wouldn't even care that they charge so much but the rude man bun guy made it a very unpleasant service. It was decided I would never go back. I will carry my bike to Texas before giving this place a dime again. Then my mother decides to go in for some shoes and was treated rudely as well by man bun. Anyone who shops here knows these bikes are not cheap. Nothing there is. And when people spend thousands of dollars on a bike it would be nice to be treated with at least kindness. Four visits to this place( scouted it out, dropped of my bike for tune up, picked up my bike from tune up, and shopping for apparel) and every single time this horrible man treated us like the plague. Well. Money will never be exchanged for rudeness in this business again. And everyone should know how horrible an experience dropping money in this place really is before doing it.
