    Mongolian shrimp Delicious!
    John S.

Been coming here for a long time and every meal so fresh , hot and delicious. It's a good meal , but wish I say I've tried it all but I always get the same thing. It's a shame I've never tried anything but the Mongolian shrimp . It's to darn good , serval tender shrimps under a bed of onion and pepper in a rich broth , it's simply perfect. The sauce doesn't overpower the natural sweetness of the shrimp but just amplifies the flavor of the shrimp. Just a real simple family restaurant with extremely nice owners , well worth a visit.

We ordered a combo platter with fried shrimp, oysters, fish, soft shell crab, fried rice, salad and dinner roll. The seafood was fried perfectly with a light batter. The fried rice was a nice addition rather than French fries and was good. The salad was just a pile of lettuce - so not really a salad. Overall, we were pleased.

Our wonderful server Haily greeted us and got our drink orders while we looked over the menu and daily specials. We decided to share a roast beef poboy minus the veggie toppings and the shrimp stew lunch special served with white rice and (bland) can corn with a slice of crusty french bread and vegetable oil spread. The roast beef poboy was ginormous and filled with a mountain of tender roast beef and gravy the gravy was a little starchy as was the shrimp stew almost like they use a jar or powdered gravy instead of a homemade roux starter which was a little disappointing I would think everything would be homemade in this little hometown restaurant- nothing bad here by any means but just a little effort would be a game changer in my opinion. All in all we had a good experience and great service and the prices are very very reasonable, if I was a local I would definitely return as for me I'd probably explore the area a little more, my review doesn't come from a total outsider I was born and raised in Louisiana so I've been eating this style of food my entire life - just saying...

Asked if I could do my order over the phone to secure some crawfish, but she politely told me I needed to come and go through the drive thru. It's located on the left hand side of LA Hwy 70. There are two seafood places side by side but Craws and Claws is the first one before you get to the lake. Be careful where you turn in at because it's a drive thru set up, so you go in one side and come out of the other. If you mess up like I did, it's easy to turn around, just be careful. There was a dry erase board just off to the side of the drive thru where the whole menu shows you just what they have and the prices. I came on Monday April 26th at 2PM. The menu showed crabs, crawfish, shrimp, both live and boiled, corn, potatoes, sausage, mushroom, garlic, sausage, and more. The lady was so nice both in person and on the phone. She packaged our stuff up so securely and even gave us an extra bag just in case. Our price was $3.99/lb for boiled crawfish but depending on when you come that price will fluctuate. Early on in crawfish season it's pretty expensive, but toward the end of the season, things gets little more affordable. Hands down, that was the best crawfish I've had in a long time. It was spiced just right. We had not even one bad crawfish. It was all great. The potatoes and corn were excellent. The boudin did not disappoint. It was so tasty and delicious. We had a big ol' polar pop to help wash it all down. We paid about $58 and some change for 12lbs of very tasty crawfish....that included 2 orders of potatoes, 2 orders of corn, and 2 pieces of boudin. Not a bad price at all for the amount of food we got. We enjoyed every bit. We will be going back very soon.
