I already have a customer account in which they have my phone number on file. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to download an app in order to get the sale price when they already track my purchases by phone number!! Perhaps it's time to take my business elsewhere, Binny's is not the only beverage store in the area. Manager refused to provide further assistance. read more

This place is almost as big as a Walmart, with nothing but beer, wine, booze, and the many mixers & accompaniments that go along with beer, wine, and booze. Oh - they also have a mid-size walk-in humidor for cigars (but no cigarettes, not even cool imported ones). But the beer, wine, and booze selection that they offer is amazing - especially the Wine racks, which takes up half the store. During promotion periods they sometimes offer free tastings, but I think its only for hard liquor. I did however taste 3 different scotch blends, right at the front door as I walked in. Binny's inn crystal lake is not just your average liquor store. It's the Size of a Costco, service like Marianos and knowledgeable like a smaller liquor store. I'm a fan of the location in Crystal lake. This store has a huge selection of wine, aIsle and aisle of whites and reds. From different areas of the world and vineyards. I'm a fan of there pinot noir selection. Lots to choose from and pease ask and they will help with tasting points. They also have a huge selection of bourbons and for good prices. But it's a huge store. They have everything from tequila to shot glasses and mixers. It's a great one stop shop. Service: For me I'm a huge fan of the service! I have stoped in once a week since it opened. Every time I am greeted once I walk in. Every time when I'm looking at bourbons. I have some one who knows what they are talking about come up to me and ask if I need help and just talk shop about bourbons. For me that's huge because there are other places that just know "cool" or hard to find big names. Binny's knows there stuff. Today I had a great experience because of there customer service manager Shannon! I walked in today needed a liquor to make a classic Brazilian drink the Caipirinha. It uses Cachaça. This spirit is made from fermented sugarcane juice. Very unique but makes a great drink. So I'm there trying to explain to her the drink I'm trying to make. Botching the name. And explaining to her it's from Brazil and it's this or that. She figures it's out,some how! Walks me over across the store. Grabs the bottle and hands it to me while explaining it to me. I was wowed. She took the time to help and didn't just send me over to the area. She walked me over. I really appreciated the extra effort! Now that's not it. I was also asking about a bourbon that was out of stock at the moment. She explained that it would be later in the day. When I stoped back hours later. She explained to me that it wasn't unpacked yet. But told me to wait. A few minutes later she comes back and opens up the box and gives me bottle. I was so happy because she clearly could have told me to come back later and I would have been fine. She went above and beyond and because of that, this will be my new place to go! So good service and making people feel important really goes a long way. read more

This is a good stop if your in need of big box liquor, but if your game is allocated bourbon or whiskey you may want to look elsewhere. This wasn't always the case as I was able to obtain harder to find bourbon through being knowledgeable and friendly, but this seems to have shifted to higher purchase customers or ones with select relationships. Stopped in today to pick up a bottle of makers and saw a bottle of cigar blend on a shelf in the back room. Went to the Managers desk and asked if it was available for purchase. "No we don't have it in our system yet only liquor in the rare spirits room is available". Ok got it, it's for someone else as allocated whiskey that hits the rare room to collect dust like the Kentucky Owls or Sweetens Cove aren't desirable by your privileged customers. I have had better luck at Algonquin and will be using it as my primary moving forward. read more

I think that it's very irresponsible for this business to be open during a pandemic! The cashiers don't wear masks or gloves and, let's face it, alcohol is a luxury, not a necessity. This employer should care more about their employees and customer's health than their stores or corporate profits. Shameful!! read more

We are all affected by this global pandemic of Covid 19. I placed an order for pickup this afternoon to celebrate Easter in my home per Illinois stay at home order. I received a call several hours later saying my order was ready. I asked for curb side pick up to reduce risk of infection as suggested by the CDC and Gov Pritzker. I was told it wasn't available but the website says it is. I was told I have to go inside to receive the order, and they close in 15 minutes. My husband got in the car and headed over. I called to tell them he is on his way, Becky was very curt and said if he's not here by 6 too bad. He arrived at 6:03 and they wouldn't let him it. He saw many people in line checking out. Is this really how you want to treat people at this very uncertain, challenging time? I won't give them my business any more, and I was a very good customer. read more

We got 2 kegs for our wedding through Binny's. We got married July 25th. Prior to the wedding we asked how long we had to return the kegs because we were going to be out of town. The manager told us we had as long as we needed. On the day of the wedding 1 of the taps did not work so we could only use 1 keg. Luckily we had also purchased bottled beer to serve our guests. When my husband went to return the kegs and ask for a refund because we only used 1 of the kegs because of the broken tap. They refused and told him that because we waited so long to return the kegs we could not get a refund. We returned 1 full keg because of the broken tap. The manager said we should've contacted them the day of the event and they would've been able to refund us. The last thing we wanted to worry about the day of our wedding was contacting Binny's to get a refund for a broken tap that they gave us. They also responded that all the taps are new and there shouldn't have been a problem. We spent over $1,000 at Binny's getting alcohol for our wedding and will NOT be going back.
