    Kawaii Hello Kitty merch

Cost Plus World Market is a fun niche store with an interesting vibe. I tend to visit when I'm looking for a unique gift or food product that I'm not sure I'll find in other stores. Their food section is filled with unique and adventurous international items. I tend to go to the chocolate treats when I'm there. I never leave without some Pocky or Kaola Yummy's! They're also a great place to pick up the new Clearly Canadian drinks, which I don't think are stocked well in my local stores. I enjoy their special collections, like their Halloween and Christmas items and, currently, their unique Hello Kitty collection, exclusive to World Market! (I'm a sucker for anything Sanrio!) They also have some nice cooking/baking utensils, which I'm also a sucker for. The cashier staff has always been friendly and wrapped any fragile merchandise I may have bought well at the register. Sometimes it can be hard to find staff on the floor, but, to be fair, I usually shop during weekday mornings, which may not be as staffed as a busy weekend. Overall, this is one of those stores that you'll go into never knowing exactly what you'll find-- and I like that about it!

    Fun spring things!

Great place for packaged tea. They have varieties not available elsewhere at reasonable prices.

Today when I was in town I took the opportunity to walk around a bit. There are a lot of nice looking housewares and decor throughout the store. It's actually quite large, and had an upstairs design area as well. Lots of pillows, furniture, wall art, and so on. The women in the store were busy with other customers when I and others entered, but once she was done she came and welcomed us to the store and asked us if we needed any assistance. There wasn't anything I needed and between buying some other home decor items and spending money with guests visiting, I didn't really want to spend any money and just wanted to take a look around. There was one item I found, a navy-colored, ~leather, mirrored tray; however, when the two sizes were $60 or $90 and when I turned it over I there was a big made in China mass production sticker on it, which was pretty disappointing for a store that has so many items that appear to be locally made or at least have a local flavor. I would visit again to wander or if I was looking for something specific (and I'll bet they have some lovely things around the holidays). However, I'd try to learn about the origins of what I was buying and if it's just an assembly line piece to help me determine what I'd be willing to pay for whatever I was purchasing.

The original church doors and windows are really pretty and make for a nice ambiance inside. Items for sale range from old glass medicine bottles and candlesticks to some furniture and paintings. There's older (vintage) items and modern produced items available. You'll see the typical goat soaps and salsas mixed in with old items. Prices are fairly high, but that's to be expected at a place that takes time to organize and display items so nicely. The overall design/feel is a copy of many other small town "vintage" shops, but this one is bigger and was built out by someone that has more money than the the people that own the smaller versions you'll find scattered in small towns across the US. My thought is that you really won't find anything worth buying. You'll likely find yourself trying to justify a purchase that you can get cheaper elsewhere. If you're looking for typical "vintage" stuff, you'll find it for way less $ at a resale shop, but you'll have to dig around a bit and will need to clean it up. Worth it for the savings and mystery, in my opinion. I don't know if this store will last, but it sure does look nice.
