Update! Changed to 3 stars because Biobug came back out to properly retreat my home. I still think their receptionists are terrible, except for one. I think better communication from the tech and nicer treatment by the receptionists could have avoided the 1 star review I gave previously, as well as a very unhappy customer. It should have never got as bad as it did. Your product may work, but the way the receptionists treat customers when an occasional problem arises needs some improvement. I had a flea problem after getting carpet cleaning done. I tried some bug bombs but they didn't do the job. I called Bio Bug and they charged me $250 to treat for fleas. There was no improvement at all even though I was treating my pets (which are outdoor only) with Frontline and vacuuming every day and emptying the canister as they told me to. I called back a week later and they told me I had to wait longer. I called back after two weeks and they told me they would retreat at the 30 day mark. The tech came back and was in my home (3600+ sqft) for maybe 5 minutes--not sure what he did, but could not have retreated that fast! Still no improvement. Went on vacation and when we returned we started getting bitten like crazy. read more

We had a wasp infestation at a rental property, the nest was in a location that you couldn't hit with the normal wasp spray. I finally gave in and decided to call an exterminator, after I realized how bad the problem was. They were polite on the phone, scheduled a time to come out the next morning, and stated that the treatment would get rid of all the wasps, even the ones inside the nest. They arrived promptly did their thing. They even treated the entire exterior to prevent other flying critters from coming in. They said it would take 5 to 7 days for all the wasps to die, so I checked in on it after 24 hours and discovered that they were almost all gone. It went from a superhighway of wasps, to just one or two. Well worth it to not have to battle those wasps on my own. I will call them next time I have a bug or critter problem. Was a customer for a little over a year. In that time I watched one of their techs not treat the entire back of our home for a treatment and had to request they come back to actually complete the job. Ask about their $50 "skip" fee if you decide to not treat for all those non existent outdoor insects in the winter. Anyone ever see bugs in B'Ham outside your house in the winter? No, you haven't, but they require you to pay $50 for them to not treat outside of your house in the winter and fall so they will treat it the rest of the year. Brilliant strategy asking a customer to pay a company for not doing something. Glad there are 15+ other companies with better pricingratings and results in the area.. read more

Three cheers for bio bug! I called them when my lovely little house in Bellingham was have a little mouse problem... ok it wasn't a little mouse problem it was mice all over my and my neighbors kitchen and rats the size of cats in my attic. They came and gave me a free estimate and the price was definitely fair! They set traps and came back once every two weeks to start to remove the dead guys. Then once a month once the problem had subsided. They were so very friendly and more then happy to help with any concerns, even offered to come take away any major dead ickies if I called before my service time came around. They have the worst costumer service! I signed up for quarterly treatments to prevent spiders almost two years ago. The first time they treated our house they made sure to remove all the cobwebs and treat around or house thoroughly. We saw improvements after a month. After our second treatment we had an increase in spiders, so we asked them to come back to retreat. Still no results and we noticed that they didn't remove the cobwebs that had formed after the second treatment. My husband contacted them to have the house treated again and he made sure he was home when it was treated. The spiders decreased after a month. Three months later we receive a bill for our third quarterly treatment. We notice a month later that there is an increase in spiders again. At this point we question weather we are receiving treatments or just receiving a bill saying a treatment was done. My husband calls them to have our house retreated and he scheduled a treatment when he could be present. They treated our house while we were home and we saw improvements. After that we told them we only wanted treatments done while we were home, and that they must call us to let us know when they will be stopping by to treat our house. That worked out great for two treatments. When we received a bill without any notice that they were going to perform a treatment we called and informed the receptionist that we needed to schedule another treatment while we were home. She did not want to work with our schedules so my husband had to leave work early to be there during the treatment. It had not been an issue in the past to schedule at our convenience. Six months after that treatment we receive a past due bill. I called and told the receptionist that we were never informed of a treatment; and that we had told them previously that we wanted them to call us before a treatment so could be present. I set up another treatment and paid our bill. They showed up and treated our house when we were home. Six months later the same thing happened. When I received the past due bill I called and informed them that we were not receiving the bills and that they need to email them to us. I made it very clear that we must be present during treatments. They did not want to treat our house at a time that my husband could be present. So I scheduled a treatment for a weekday morning when I could be present. I told the receptionist that the person treating our house must be on time because I had to leave for work at 8:30. She told me not to worry because the owner was going to perform the treatment and that he would be on time. He was not on time! I waited till 45 minutes after the scheduled time for him to show up then I called the receptionist to reschedule because I was going to be late for work. She was extremely rude and told me they would not reschedule because he was on his way. Six months later it happened again. So I called the receptionist and told her we did not receive a bill via mail or email, and no notice before treatment. I told her they must contact us before treatment so we could be there because we have a tenant. They would not work with our schedule again so my husband left work early for a second time. Eight months later there are plenty of spiders but no bills or calls. I call them and ask why we haven't heard from them. They informed me that our account had been frozen because we only paid for one of the treatments on the last bill not two when I received the past due notice. Plus they had supposedly performed a treatment since that time, without informing us before hand. I gave up, paid the bill I had already paid and the bill for the supposedly performed treatment. Then I cancelled my service. This company is clear saying they are performing treatments when they are not otherwise we would not have received a constant refusal to treat our property while we were present. Now we know why they are cheaper than the competition. read more

Oh yeah, I found I had rats in the cawl space. Ugh. Phoned Biobug and they were there the next day. Been very happy with their service. Not so much having to clean up the mess the rats left but that's not Biobug's job/problem. They just showed up for a checkup and refill the bait stations which apparently are being heavily used. For the price I think they are well worth it. For those people with ant problems, getting rid of ants is a longer term project. The poisons they use are slow acting so the ants will take it back and get the queen also. The downside is, the ants don't just vanish in a day or so. We've used Terro as a home method and it works but you do have to put up with the ants for several days before you start to see the numbers decrease. read more

Bio Bug has horrible customer service. The billing department has two of the rudest staff members I have ever spoken with. The guys who have done my service are not the problem. But I cannot give my business to a company that allows their people in customer service to treat their customers like they don't matter. I should have looked at reviews before I choose them. I could have saved myself some time. You know it's bad when a supervisor gets on the phone and she is ruder then the person you were first talking to. It's not often you get someone that is in a supervisor role that actually escalates a situation. Raising her voice. Interrupting. I would say she has never heard the customer is always right. I would say she has no idea the value of customers which is interesting in this day and age. I guess this company would be ok if you never have any problems. But if you do be prepared to be treated rudely. I don't normally leave reviews but that might be because I've never dealt with such rudeness. Do yourself a favor and pick a different bug company. Dishonest company They decided to come and spray without our prior approval and bill us when we were out of town. we disputed it and they were very reluctant,but did agree we were not responsible for this charge.I had also explained to them that the technician had wrote down on the invoice that he did not have contact with us. A few days later they had sent us a invoice stating I was past due,We called Steve the owner and told him we thought they just made a mix up,his reply was they will continue billing us until its paid. wow a complete 180 who are these people Scary so I want others to be aware just because a company suggest they should come back and spray every few months they are suggesting it,thats it,this does not give them permission to come back and then bill you for it shame on you Bio Bug read more

Bio Bug is a service that claims to provide protection from rodent infestation. They claim integrity and ultimate customer service. I paid them for the last two years for these preventative services which were supposed to be provided first monthly and then quarterly but were intermittent and ineffective. I've just paid over $4500 for repair and restoration in my crawl space due to rodent damage. The company refuses any liability, said "I'm sorry for your damage," and then suggested that I have them come more often! I have terminated service with them, have filed a complaint with BBB and will probably end up taking them to small claims court. The president and owner of the company who came to my house to remove his traps told a renter living in my house as she were getting into her car that I was delusional and they would not pay a cent for anything. The technicians I met in the past were very friendly and helpful, but over the two years have quit and gone to work elsewhere. I think that says something about the company also. read more

Children woke up last night around 10 PM and ants were everywhere!! Phoned a few exterminators to find one on call or a 24 hour. Bio Bug SAID in their message that there is someone on call and that they'd phone back asap. After over an hour of no call back I phoned again. It is now 10:40 AM the next day and after over 12 HOURS, NO CALL BACK!!!! I was all excited that the company advertises that they are green and they are close by and their ad looks great....WRONG!!! read more

Showing up on time, not a priority. 1st appointment, over booked or whatever. A second tech was sent out immediately. Hour plus late. He was very nice. Done. We called Bio Bug Pest Mgt because we were infested with wood ants. They came out immediately and talked us into buying a $325 service contract which included two treatments. After the second treatment we were going to be serviced quarterly for an additional $97.83. The first treatment was unsuccessful and I had to call Bio Bug multiple times to let them know. Each time I called a technician would call me back and say "it takes four weeks" to work. No one mentioned that my house was going to be infested for four weeks. It was awful! Bio Bug did come out again and sprayed a second time on the fourth week. On each visit I told the technician that I needed to plan his visits because I did not want him to spray when my grandchildren were on the premises. Because both treatments were unsuccessful I went to Home Depot and purchased an ant treatment and eradicated the ants myself. After being out of town for a couple of weeks, I received an invoice for $97.83 for a treatment that had taken place while I was away. I immediately called Bio Bug to let them know that I had not authorized the treatment and that because the first two treatment did not work that we would not used them again. There customer service rep told me that because I went to Home Depot and used an "off the shelf" product that my contract was cancelled. I was glad to know that my contract was cancelled. I told their customer service rep that I wanted to be reimbursed for the initial $325 and that the additional invoice for $97.83 should be waived because that visit was not authorized. The customer service rep told me to send her an email with my complaint and that she would have the owner call me back. It has been over two weeks and I have not heard from the owner. I cannot emphasize enough how awful the ant infestation was as my house was almost inhabitable for several weeks. The problem was not solved by Bio Bug but with an over the shelf product from home Depot. I would never use these guys again nor could I recommend them. read more
