First time ever trying this and they completely wasted my time and gas to drive 40 minutes here just to get to told they don't want to do it cuz one lady thinks I live in a hotel even tho I gave my brand new washington state id that I got few months ago... Got a surprise SPE the week of my 8th donation and big bonus, came back normal. Few months later got another surprise SPE, also the week of the big bonus 8th donation. Came back abnormal, had to wait 7-10 days and couldn't benefit from the large bonus. Stopped going for a year and came back when my schedule allowed, did the SPE only that came back normal, was called and told to come in on X day. Made the trip the day they told me after making an appointment (the system ALLOWED me to) and was told I had no appointment; which apparently was their system hiccup as after a few minutes they were able to find my appointment. Went through the profile update again, finger stick and all that and was then told "whoever told you that you could come in today was mistaken" And let me know I could try tomorrow and was sent away again after wasting 30 mins of my time plus the trip from Blaine. Wouldn't even let me do the physical i needed updated on either trip because "we don't do physicals unless they're tied to a donation because we lose money, the donation covers the cost of the physical". Won't be back. Front counter staff wasn't very professional. There is clearly also a lack of continuity in the message/training or something to where I got wrong information over the phone. It's too bad, I'd been a donor for 8 years and believe in what they do. read more

You better really be hard up for money to be coming here. It's an unpleasant experience, takes way longer than it should, and you can just feel that it's NOT good for you. It makes you feel like crap for a couple days afterwards. Which makes sense considering that you're giving them almost a liter of plasma each time. If you really need $40 and have a couple hours of your time to waste as well as another 24+ hrs of feeling terrible, then it's an option I guess. I would NOT reccommend it. read more

I have always had a negative, uneducated, view of plasma "donation" facilities and the "kind" of people that sell plasma. After receiving an offer in the mail and encouragement from my man friend, I decided to check out BioLife. The initial physical and donation process took about 2.5 hours from start to finish. The staff seemed pretty friendly guiding me through the process and answering questions. There was a lot of waiting time, but this is likely due to the high volume of "donors". Give identification, answer questions, get vitals and weight checked, quick physical with questions, donate, and then wait for monitoring following your first donation. I'm told that the process is quicker following your initial donation. The facility and employees appear to be clean. It wasn't the seedy place that I had imagined up. I'm told there are special offers that allow for larger payouts. There's even a referral program right now. I have a decent job, but you can never have too much "extra" cash. I'll probably go a few more times. I may or may not become a regular. read more

I was there about a month ago. They treated me and my kid's like we live in transitional housing. I walked In and had trouble from the get go. It took 45 minutes to get the paperwork ready since I forgot my SS card.. but I had it on another paper. Guess that wasn't good enough. So after one lady left she wipers in an ear about me. I couldn't make it to the screening process as after she took my BP another lady said, since you don't live in Bellingham I will have to make sure you don't live in Transitional housing..I was like WTF. in front of my kid's. They were supposed to call back. . They never did. . . Guess they care more about where you live than saving lives! read more

They refuse you if you don't have an appointment. They never stick to appointment times when you make one. There is no sence of direction. If the line gets too long the staff blame you for impending on someone privacy instead of directing the line somewhere else. Very unorganized. I was there waiting for an hour before even getting my finger poked. Just to wait 40 more minutes to get a chair. Than another 20-25 minutes to get hooked up. They don't keep track of who gets there first so hope you don't get cut in line. Completely not worth it. read more

I made a comment to the tech checking me in that I had a filling done and they made me go see a nurse. The nurse deferred me for 2 days because they consider a filling a "medical procedure." I told her I couldn't believe it and there was nothing on the screening questions that I would consider covered a simple filling from a dentist and I was regretting telling the tech that I had a filling done because I needed the money pretty bad. I found out today that the nurse gave me a premanent deferral because she says I was misleading and they couldn't trust me anymore. I donated here for 10 years and over 500 donations and they treated me like I was some lying bum off the street. read more

Went in to donate ten years ago and got deferred because "my eyes were yellow" I think I was dehydrated or something, haven't tried again until recently and they run me around in circles trying to find out why I was previously deferred, eventually sending me away after wasting 2 hours of my time, call me back 2 weeks later saying they found my old file and I am now cleared, I drive in there (from Blaine) only for them to run me in circles again for an hour and eventually tell me I have to get cleared from a physician before I can donate since I have previously been deferred, I told them it would have been nice to tell me that on the phone before I drove all the way in here wasting my time and fuel for no reason, and all they have to say is "sorry", seems like a bunch of idiots that don't do their job or have any common courtesy read more

Worst managed donation center please have more respect for your health then to donate here or waste your time and that is what it amounted to every time i went there and i have donated for 15 years and this is only place i had a problem with . please don't put your health on the line this place is scary how bad the management and employees are .if you value your health stay away from here. read more

Extremely rude staff, no compensation for hours and hours of testing and paperwork, and their policy is that anyone with any mental diagnoses is not allowed to make decisions for themselves (this is the most offensive thing I've ever experienced as a woman with bipolar). read more

I mentioned to the attendant that they could send a notification in cases like that so we dont need to drive, wait on the line for almost 1 hours and then find out that we should not be there that day. Biolife people are some what nice if you don't catch them on a bad day. They get you in and out if you don't hit the rush but they are still quick. They are very informational on staying healthy for donating. I have recently notice people are getting poke wrong and have to do it twice. Then the biolife people act rude to you like it's your fault. It hasn't happen to me yet but I have seen others the past few months. read more

Clean building and professional staff who follow the strict medical procedures of the plasma donation process; exactly the kind of environment medical practices should take place in. To potential donors reading bad reviews: don't be discouraged to try the process for yourself, it is a great source of supplemental income that also helps patients who receive the medicine your plasma goes into. Just remember that what you're selling to BioLife is going to end up in this sick person's body, and so you should expect a thorough (some may consider invasive, but it's necessary) electronic questionnaire which will include topics about your: sexual activities, drug use, medications, illnesses and other topics which may determine if your plasma is safe for use in medication. If qualified, this 5 minute questionnaire is followed by an even shorter, routine health check-up with a licensed medical staff who will determine if your blood content meets standards for donation. The last part of the process is the actual donation, where your physical self (weight, vein structure/condition) are going to determine the ease which the phlebotomist applies the IV to your arm. There is even a system for classifying the difficulty of different veins of different people, a good thing to keep in mind if you are squeamish or sensitive to needles. read more

Wish I could give them a better review. I donated a bit ago, about two or three weeks worth of plasma. I have AB blood, so I donated a lot. Plasma seemed to be the next logical step, plus I got paid. So, I wound up here. People were nice enough. I was a bit needle squeamish when it was inserted and they always made me feel comfortable (and would cover up the needle while I was donating!). The problem arose around the third week of donation. My technician was having a hard time finding a vein on my normal arm. A few pricks but nothing, he asked for my other arm. I said sure. Three technicians later and both arms full of needle holes, I was told I wasn't allowed to donate again. Why no one had told me this sooner? I have no idea. I had been donating successfully for three weeks. I was told I could come back at a much later date (two months I think) and apply again, but what's the point if I apparently have no good veins on my other arm?? I shouldn't be able to pass the prescreening anyway?? Needless to say, I'm disappointed. If they would have just told me I couldn't donate at the beginning, it'd be a different story. Make sure you get someone to really check you during your veins during your prescreening, or you might be out of luck in a few weeks. read more

Very understaffed every time I've been here, poor communication about the process and having to wait for test results, after a 45 minute drive to do something good I had to wait two hours just to have my vitals taken and that is very irritating so of course my heart rate was high and I was sent home. The staff is trash. I just got deferred for 8 weeks, because they fouled up my vein the last couple donations and I didn't want to deal with them continuing to jab it in my vein. Worst of all they never told me I'd be deferred before I told them I was done. Would've tried the other arm if I had been told. read more

It's a great place to get extra money when u want something or just save it and do it 2 times week for a month u can have enough for car insurance or just have money. The people here are nice and help you with anything, also great place when u donate and got kids there playroom got toys and a TV that cartoons on it all the time so ur kids wont be bored with the other kids. read more

Really clean, comfortable beds, nice staff. super easy. i've been here 4 times and it's been a good experience everytime. the fuse time did take a while about 2 hours but considering all the paperwork and prescreening it wasn't too bad at all. The building itself is quite cold which is really nice but if you get cold easy definitely bring a blanket. overall really great place and i will for sure continue coming back especially bc they have good wifi read more

I was a donor back in 2014 and just recently decided to start donating again. When I went in for my physical. I was told that I could not donate because someone had apparently told them that I was sexually active with men. They didn't bother to verify this information with me at all when they heard it. They just simply made it so that I can't donate plasma with them. This is a horrible practice, to single out a person whether they are sexually actively with men or women, I don't think that this should be a policy that this company even considers!!! Homophobia is still very much alive in this nation and BioLife isn't doing much in the way of trying to combat that, they are going along with it. read more

The only two recent problems I've noticed is that one of the two urinals in the men's room needs to be repaired. Its been broke for at least 2 weeks so far. The other thing is the lines on some days are literally out the door. That's it so far. read more

Ticked off at this place Ben going to bpl stopped because need money better promotion I thought gave one sample to bpl for protein no problems and wasn't eating as well and passed I ear healthy food OK went to biolife in mentor a 40 minute drive OK no problems at first then they wanted another sample for protein OK this is the issue they had a promo donate twice in September 2 and ended in October something OK so I was coin good 4 times then they wanted another sample it was low protein of course it would be so they screwed me and my brother out of like three hundred dollars both of us was low protein I know for a fact that there's no way in hell that both of us was low protein so if u live in Cleveland and go there be ready to get screwed over so bpl I'm back best place to go. read more

I've been donating for a month now, most of the staff has been very nice. However the time you have to wait in line is not worth it. I've had to wait in line for over an hour, they always seem to be under staffed. My first experience was great but the last 3 times have been very difficult and made me stop going. Besides the wait time I also have not been receiving the money that they promised me for donating plasma. I hope they get their act together, this is a service I'd really like to donate to without such a hassle. read more

Apparently fast shaming is an okay practice for these people. I'm larger ion size due to being confined to a wheelchair for 9 years (that I'm now out of.) It is appearance ONLY. My blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and health is pristine and is healthier than most skinny people and I even brought the Dr note to prove this. I passed the entire intake easily and was taken to the back. The employee that came to get me hooked up for donation was EXTREMELY rude. She flat told me I was too fat to donate and needed to "lose like 150lbs first." I'm "only" 230lbs and 5'7".....so she is encouraging a patient to become EIGHTY LBS (which is BELOW their donation weight I might add!!) Sms worse she had this judgemental sneer on her face the entire time and proceeded to walk over to another employee and have a conversation as both starred at me. I am not an emotional person but literally left in tears so bad I couldn't even drive for about a half hour. I was humiliated.... It may not be race or sexuality but perhaps a little sensitivity and "look at the persons file BEFORE passing judgement based on personal beliefs"!!!!! I'm even O-Negative blood type ( which doesn't have anything to do with plasma donation but according to the Red Cross I'm an universal donor of both blood and plasma as weight above 110lbs has NO EFFECT on donation or necessity) Ridiculous bias that NEVER should have happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
