I've been "compensated for my time for donating plasma" (legal-savvy shop talk for "selling blood fluids", haha) in three different cities over the years with three distinct companies facilitating the process. I grew up in Bellingham, so when I turned eighteen, Biolife was the first of these three plasma joints I visited-- I already gave blood and figured the extra money couldn't hurt. The building then was neighbored by Whatcom Community College. At the time, I remember being very impressed with the place. It was clean, colorful, kept an excellent staff, and I always left in good spirits with a chunk of change in my pocket. Then I moved to Oregon for college, where I was left with a surprising collection of scarring experiences I won't soon forget and a brand new appreciation for what Biolife had offered. You don't know what'chya got till it's gone, though-- right? was scarring: the opposite of Biolife in every way. Seattle was even worse-- where I moved for the first half of my twenties. It was dirty, the staff was nasty, and the process was unreliable and could take all day. Eventually, I moved back to the ham and found that while BL's location has changed, its staff, commitment to quality, and overall pleasant experience has remained just as impressive. My experience was way better than I expected! Everyone is way nicer than you would expect and they weren't annoying to support you in any way that you needed. As long as you followed their rules and understood the process, they were there to help you in any way and make the process efficient and comfortable. A big plus is that the place is super clean! I'm a clean freak, so there are other places I didn't like the idea of donating. But here it was clean, very organized, and overall a really positive environment. The people weren't passive at all. I had never donated blood because I hate needles, but plasma is soooo needed in the world that I wanted to do it. My new donor experience was amazing. BioLife in Bellingham has a great program where you get paid to help people, the staff is nice and very helpful so even first time donors are able to get used to the process fairly quickly and they always have some kind of promotion going on to help you get a little more money for your time and plasma donations! In 1 week you can make $70, and after 7 or 8 donations you get a bonus amount which can be $40+ totaling about $70+ dollars for 1 hour of your time. It's really not a bad way to earn some extra money if you can stand a needle in your arm for an hour or 2 a week? It's a pretty easy way to earn an extra 70$ + a week in my opinion. read more

I was shocked to see the amount of negative reviews for this BioLife center. I've been donating here for almost 2 years and have always found them to be respectful, kind, and professional. I almost never feel any pain throughout the whole process despite hating being stuck with needles, and with their new machines I'm in and out in less than an hour. Absolutely not a scam I've made hundreds of dollars donating here. The only caveat is that you have to be a generally healthy person, otherwise you'll get turned away so read their guidelines first! read more

I have multiple screenshots from the companies website and emails to me stating I need to have a snack before donating. The employees took one look at me and said I couldn't donate because I didn't eat a large meal. Looks shouldn't matter. But here they do. The employees discriminate based on looks. I was there maybe 2 minutes. Not long enough to make a fair assessment. I am considering getting a lawyer as I have plenty of emails and screenshots from their website. Biolife can suck a giant fucking cock I have a scratch on the inside of my arm and they think I do drugs so I can't donate ever again. Why the fuck would I ever do drugs I hate needles I'm trying to get over hating them by going to them. I have 4 kids a life and such I don't even know where to go to find drugs or what drugs you do needles with. So yay. While I am extremely appreciative to have this service so that I can buy food for my kids, I hate going in because the employees are so rude. One even made a comment about my weight which was humiliating. When Kayla is processing she won't even speak to you. She just snaps and points her fingers as if your a dog.
