I went to make a complaint on a employee Leslie who is very rude and that she had given another donor information on my account when I complained to a mgr heavy set with a reddish brown beard n another employee who was sitting there they both said that HIPPA does not apply to their center only OCHA I'm like what so I asked so it's ok to to other donors about other donors acct and the both said yes that's not wrong I was OMG do you know what HIPPA is n they both said again it only applies to hospitals.. This place can be great. Using this as extra income even donating plasma one time a week can pay for gas. Very clean, compared to other plasma places. However it used to be cleaner. I think this place has been going down hill for a few months. Bathrooms broken for weeks. Doors busted for months. The people are always super nice. And they work extremely hard and despite being a place where you don't want speed. I prefer someone being careful when they are jabbing my arm with a large needle. They are typically very quick. Especially when they went to an appointment based program. This place is a plasma donation/ purchaser. And they are pretty good. Lately there has been a wait to check your vitals. And getting a bed to donate doesn't always mean you won't wait to be stuck with the needle. I hope this place goes back to what it was. read more

Plan on your first time stay about 3 hours. You check in, then ask you to sit and wait, then they call you up and ask you your basic questions, have a current ID and a bill to show proof of address. Then they ask you more questions. Then you sit and wait for nurse. Nurse will take you to the back for your physical. She asked me to get on the exam table, which is high for me because I'm short. No stool, no help. They want to see if you can get up there. They cannot help you. Lol, I know I looked hilarious trying to get up there. Oh and remember to have your promo code if you have one. Fortunately the nurse helped me, because I had no idea I needed one and I didn't see it, but I knew about it. The nurse will give you an envelope that has your debit card and instructions. Don't lose the instructions, believe me you will need them. Then when you're done there, you stand in a line with about 10 people in front of you. The medical staff will call you up where they get your weight, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and check your iron. If you blood pressure, heart rate are abnormal they will allow you to sit and wait for 7-15 min and try it again, like I did. Then they will call you back and make sure you give them a different arm. They always ask you what arm and what finger you want to be pricked. My heart rate was 115, then went down to 101, failed, you get sent home. You could back the next day as a "walk in". Whoa, you mean if you have an appt you have to wait, can you imagine a walk in? Anyway, the trick, don't drink coffee the day of your appt, this will inhibit your iron from being absorbed, thick will cause your iron to be low. When they do your blood pressure make sure your feet are on the foot rest and not dangling, and sit back and relax, otherwise, it will cause your BP or heart to be high. Take a blanket, because it's cold, not a jacket because you're gonna have to take it out anyway when they test you and stick you. Take your own hand squeezer thing, you will need it, they will give you a card with the color of where you need to go. Find an empty bed and just lay down, there's a pillow thing for your arm, put it on the side you want them to use. There's a little cubby at the foot of the bed. The little card they give you, hang it on the machine next to the bed. Make sure you have everything you need to lay there for one hour because once they have you connected you can't get up. You can't take a nap because they put a blood pressure cuff on your arm that will squeeze your arm when it's time for you to start repeatedly pumping your fist, so you need to be awake for that. Lol, before I knew anything I saw this lady in front of pumping her hand so fast it looked like ..... Anyway, you'll see. Another tip, Noemi has a heavy hand. After a while you hear your plasma pouring into the plastic container, you'll see the machine start at zero, you're done once it reaches 1000. I was constantly looking at the machine, the clock and the plasma pouring into the container and then watching everyone pumping their hands so fast and hard. Lol, I chuckled a lot. Did I tell you not to forget to take a blanket or something to keep you warm. After the container is full, your left over blood is returned to your body and if the machine detects you need fluids it will give you fluids automatically. Once you're done, the machine turns green which tells the staff you're done. Now you wait until someone is available to disconnect you. They come and disconnect you, bandage you up, sometimes tightly, which doesn't need to be but oh well, you just want to leave. They give you your colored card back and you put it in a container at the front. Before you walk out your money is in your acct. Voilà Is it worth it, the time, the traffic, yes, if you need the money. Most of the people in there are there for the same thing, they need money and right now. $80, $90, $100 is worth it if you need to pay a bill, gas, groceries, or even just to hold you till your next pay check. Kids are not allowed. The place is clean. Staff wipe after every person, gloves are changed. Drink plenty of water before and after, eat good before you go. You can only go twice a week and have at least one day in between your last appt. That's it. read more

The manager today was Rose and I was told by an associate that they will open the floor disregarding appointments to increase number production. The top of this form says "The named individual identifies as Transgender" What does my gender identity have to do with donating plasma? Update: I have recently learned that when you need and ask for a red-stick, everyone is now a "red-stick." This is so sad. I watched a woman next to me get treated so badly due to their "new" protocol where everyone is a "qualified" red-stick; just different a different "level." I have very tiny veins and only one arm I can donate from. It has been butchered so bad, (supposedly from a red-stick), that I will be making my last donation. Tip for new donors,--if you need a red-stick, learn the name(s) of the experienced red-sticks and ask for them by name. Do NOT let anyone else touch you. After my last experience, I just hope I'm able to donate blood. :( I don't know who's responsible for running this place, however, the quality of care, cleanliness and timeliness are all going down along with compensation. read more

This has to be the number 1 worst run establishment I have ever seen and I am not a young person. First off the staff was mostly friendly. It took about 5 visits to get my plasma taken for the first time. They kept telling me I needed a different thing every time and the communication between their own staff is horrible. To top it off because of the inexperience of some staff they ruptured a vein in my arm. All said and done 3.5 hours later I finished. I figured it was my first time so surely next time wouldn't be so bad. I go back a few days later for the second time and they made me see the nurse 2 times about a medication and after 2 hours I get to go see the person who qualifies you and he wouldn't even test me unless a nurse looked at my black and blue arm which I had already seen 2 times that day already. I was wearing a short sleeve shirt and no jacket my arm was clearly visible and they did not clear me for that even though it was their poorly trained staff that did it. They wouldn't even bump me to the front of the line and there were 8 people ahead of me so I decided to leave and never look back. I do not recommend this place at all and for the first time in my life I will go out of the way to tell people NOT to go there. Don't even bother with the universal generated response you give everyone on your reviews, you don't really care how your donors are treated. read more

So I came in with an appointment and they were very rude to begin with. They were acting like they didn't care that I was there giving me attitude. I went back to go, give them back the paper that I asked the last time I was there and the doctor barely even talk to me she was just saying ok no sorry no nothing. We cannot see you today. You can donate you. Have we have to wait for a position to come in tomorrow and then I went to the front desk, obviously really upset And they were upfront. They didn't care that. I was saying the lady had a pot in really well and didn't say sorry again was like well. If the position doesn't go to the other location, you can't go donate at the other location so they kinda let me with nothing to do and no time it was also, I could not get an appointment anywhere else so I had to go out for 40 minutes. The people are nice but they aren't trained on infection control or any kind of cross contamination. I noticed that they rarely changed their gloves between people while screening for protein and iron. There was a lot of touching random surfaces with dirty gloves on and not wiping keyboards and other things down after touching them. I spoke with a nurse who explained that unless the person sees blood being spilled, they can wear their gloves for as long as they see fit and touch as many people as they want. Today I had scheduled my physical appointment at 5:10, and it is currently 6:10 and I have still not yet been seen for my physical. An HOUR past my scheduled time slot. No one ever answers the phone. If you want to talk to someone and ask a question you have to drive all the way there. I called 40 times throughout one day and every single call went to voicemail. When I went in there to ask my question and complained about the phones the employee told me they never answer the phone in case they get busy. The staff working there are very nice and helpful and attentive, that being said my last and final experience here I obtained a hematoma. The workers there are not medical certified but it's a trade for them no certification needed to stick needles in arms. Not honoring your promotions= FRAUD This place is turning into a joke. First of all its so obvious they are taking more donors than the facility can handle. 1)The average time you will spend doing the whole process is one and a half to 2 hours now for returning donors. 2) Once your donation is complete you now have to wait between 45 minutes up to hours before your money appears in your account because again they are struggling with the volume of additional donors. With every other plasma center there is no wait for your money. 3) Now they are messing up on their promos because they can't keep track of who is on what promo as a result I got stuck with 2 $20 donations for the week. The manager was too chicken shit to admit wrong, dodged me and let his tech bullshit me as to why I got stuck with $40 total for the week. I should have at least recieved $70 today equalling $100 for the week. I'm not alone with my frustration w them because I saw 2 other donors voicing their displeasure with this circus is run with the frontdesk. read more

Last week spent over 2 hours here for a donation. The reason it took so long was due to error in placement of the insertion site. A few sticks and infiltration (blow out, causing instant huge bulging bruise) of the area, they went to the other arm and same thing happened. Since donation was more than 3/4 done, the red stick (expert vein puncture person) said I would still be paid since it was their fault. I was unable to donate a few days later due to the bruises. I found out today I was not paid for the donation because there was no record I was there, hence no pay. I "discussed" this with the supervisor Richard (Dick, for short) and said tough, there is no record of you being here even if you could tell us who helped me that day, end of discussion. Great customer service skills. So, several sticks and fishing techniques that ended up being big ass bruises, a waste of 2 hours, and insult to injury from the remarkable customer service super star Dick after inquiring for compensation, was not worth my time or effort. Lesson learned. Over looking the interactions with Dick, the facility is clean and the staff is friendly, efficient and professional. read more

Biolife sent me a coupon for $200 per donation for the next 3 donations. Because of this the facility has been completely packed and I was unable to get in on several visits. Today I went at 6:00 a.m. to ensure I got in and could use my coupon. I was told that because I had donated 1 month ago I couldn't use the coupon and would be paid $20 for my donation which the front desk workers were very rude about. They even stated that it wasn't their problem that I couldn't get in before. Why send me the coupon then? If a company sends you a coupon they should honor it. Apparently Biolife only values my time and my plasma if I don't donate, which won't be a problem now since I will never go back and will encourage others to not go as well. Just got back from this place they did a blood sample a week ago. I go in today to find out they want to take another sample because my protein levels are abnormal mind you I NEVER GOT A CALL ABOUT THIS! The person at the front said it could take 7-10 days for the sample to comeback(this being the 7th day) and they would of called me about it(so I don't waste my time going up there early) BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME and they did not compensate for this error on there behalf. This is the second time they have done this type of ordeal to me within the month and it's Everytime I am about to get my 100 dollar bonus(last time they said I was too late to donate EVEN THOUGH it was there fault because only one computer worked so there was a line to log in). This place is horrendous, and the bad speech impediment girl needs to be on something else and not talking to customers because she has no clue what's going on. I asked for a manager and she said currently there was none available. Called to speak about my results immediately and of course no one answers the phone or calls me back.
