There was a technician named Constance that was able to get my IV like butter (so easily). She also gave me a good overview of how the donations work, how to keep the machines working when they reach a certain color. She made me feel knowledgeable about how to get the best experience from my donation. There was also a lady named Patricia that took my blood sample at the intake station. The donation process took significantly longer than previous visits. I spent most of my visit waiting today, and the delays made the experience frustrating. I hope staffing or scheduling can be improved so donors don't have to wait so long even though they probably won't. No one checked on the donors, and the overall pace was very slow. I understand busy days happen, but improving efficiency would help reduce wait times, coming out to explain to the donors what's going on or even apologizing for the inconvenient wait time would be helpful, moving with a sense of urgency would be ideal ! 40 minute wait time is completely unacceptable and need to do better. Managers should take the initiative and lead by example of sticking donors or even help dissembling the machines to make the process faster instead of standing there doing nothing. Just a suggestion, maybe have a screening station specially just for the fast past donors who waited a year to even redeem the fast pass instead of sharing back and fourth in line who goes first or getting skipped , just a suggestion. Have to drop a star due to management's decision to prohibit the phlebotomists from tapping the filter during high return pressure faults. Had two phlebotomists try to address it and said there was nothing they could do. A third one finally worked some magic and got it going again. Whatever she did needs to be communicated to all the others so this can be addressed. All this is doing is extending the donation time. read more

This place is overall good if you're struggling to pay the bills and need a little extra cash in your pocket for the week slide on down. I come here because I go out to eat at restaurants and I ain't trying to pay out my pocket. This plasma money is my food and gas money. I only had one of the whatever you call it the needle stickers screw my donation up twice because she kept moving the needle around and clogged the machine and I had to leave. Luckily it was on of my first new donor bonus donations so I got paid in full for my first couple donations. Right now I'm looking at 65 per donation. Something light, but it's manageable if it dropped down to 50 I I'll never come back. read more

I gave this place 3 times and had a week and a half in-between each draw the 3rd time was my FINAL time going to this place. 1st time was great, 2nd time was a bit bruised, 3rd time I was in the ER crying its been a week and I cannot move my arm! I was in the chair donating for a total of 35 mins and this is what happens at 80%! My arm started to tense up, and rised my hand for someone to take the needle they took a total of 5 minutes to to my area and assist me, my boyfriend had to holler at someone for immediate assistance they do not care simple LAWSUIT waiting! They want to blame you for not eating properly, or drinking enough water, or moving your arm instead of taking accountability for their ACTIONS! I am extremely frustrated and upset with they give you a phone number to call and then they try to get you to go online. They will not speak with you. They do not give you an a number to press in order to speak with them with them and when you press one of the numbers that they say you're not supposed to they will not return. They will not take your call goodbye that is what they say. That is disgusting. Out of all the plasma places that I have visited, this one has been the most efficient. I had some issues in the beginning with some of the Management. But once they cleared things up for me, I was a happy donor. They try their best to be efficient. However it can be busy sometimes and set them behind. Overall, they do their best to get you out of there as quickly as possible. And they work hard to ensure that no matter even if it's 7PM (the time they CLOSE) they still manage to allow patients to come in to donate. Overall, a great location, nice friendly staff and I appreciate that everyone keeps to themselves over all. People may get frustrated over the wait times, but you have to imagine putting yourself in their shoes and how many patients they are assisting a day. This place has its moments. Getting in with the new donor stuff is pretty easy. They will get you with the new donor bonus. The do NOT put enough emphasis on you only get 7 new donor bonuses amounts, this is very different to all other places i have gone where it will be up to 8 donations. Also keep in mind that their payments come with a price. You will be subjected to additional fees just to use the card. $1.50 each time it is used, this is to include using an in network atm. Be aware! They are scammy! At this point I would not recommend the Walzem location. Additionally, during one of my donation times I witnessed staff taking people that came in after me to be placed in a bed first. This was not new donors, which I understand gets first dibs. But these were people that have actually been there before and are obviously friends with the employees. They need to work the way that it should be. I went there today to get some information as a first time donor and I was completely ignored whilst waiting at the information desk for over 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend going there . The people aren't licensed for phlebotomy. Or anything . The people who actually draw your blood I mean. When they poked me with the needle the guy tore my tendon. By the median Cubital vein . It took a week for the bruising to come down . Then another staff member kept readjusting the needle in my arm tearing the tissue even more . I've been going here for years I've had bad sticks I've had rude phlebotomist I've had nurses mess up on the basic intake and defer me because of their mistakes I have had people milk my finger like it was a cow's title before they've even stopped causing it to be bruised for days afterwards large purple whelps on my arm from stick thru the vain but when I was arbitrarily told today that because of my hydration levels they were taking some of my money I decided I was going to find a different plasma center I have reported this to the better Business bureau and to octapharma's parent company read more

The facility will offer you $100 for each of your first few visits, but find ways to keep you from getting each payout before their deadline. If the technician decides they don't like you or are having a bad day, they will pretend to draw blood, but do it incorrectly on each arm causing terrible bruising preventing you to donate until they've healed. The technicians are very poorly trained and will also abruptly end your donation if they feel it's taking longer than expected to extract the plasma and will give you the minimum payout possible for what time you spent there. CSL Plasma has a smaller payout, but their staff is better trained and professional, never had any issues at their facility. I've never had a worse donation experience than I've had at Octapharma. Lastly, this wasn't from just one experience, this happened a total of 5 times, consecutively. I prayed each visit that it would get better, but was treated poorly every time. This review is in no way aimed toward that admissions staff, they were excellent. You've been warned. read more

I have really tried to be patient and understanding with this location after going there for over a year. Tonight will be my last time ever going to this location. Talk about slow and not caring if your coming into donate. Arrived a little before 7:00 and totally get that it was almost closing time. The girl that checked me in was quick and had me checked in within 5 minutes. She had just transferred from Houston and was very pleasant. When I was finished I didn't realize there were 8 patients still waiting to get hooked up and start donating. I waited for over 25 minutes and the line was not moving like it should be. Finally I was done waiting because by the time the 7 people in front of me plus getting hooked up it would of been after 8:00. When I let them know I was not going to wait anymore one gentleman told find someone on the floor which he was sitting at a desk doing nothing but talking with another co worker. Spoke to another person he said he would find me and cancel me. Okay thanks I'm so glad you care about who's coming and donating plasma. This place needs more employees or management needs to help them as well to get things rolling at this location. So disappointed in how I was treated as a DONOR. read more

This location has a $100 promotion for new donors the first seven times you go donate. I am a new donor this is my third time donating and after coming back for a mistake. They did three months ago, which cost me not being able to donate by their guidelines, I was expecting for me to still be on the promotions, since I'm still a new donor but they decided that does not count because it's been over 30 days since my last donation and they don't want to make it right I'm never coming to this place ever again they treat you like cattle.
