I really enjoyed it--very relaxing, she explained all aspects of the facial and gave great advice on what I can do better to achieve better results for my skin. I'm actually very surprised at the horrible reviews. The store front is very nice, bright and clean. The rooms are lovely and I especially like the chandeliers & mirrors. Nice large bathroom I've had to use a few times. I've been going here for about a year. I first purchased a Groupon for cavi-lipo then purchased a package. Just today I went in for a microdermabrasion which was wonderful and left my face feeling so good and looking marvelous. The cavi Lipo really helped me lose stubborn weight! It worked very good on me and I enjoyed every session I've gone to so far, maybe 8 sessions so far. It's a nice massage like feel. The music is nice. You can make your appointment online and it gives you the option to choose your treatment and technician. I've had work done by a few different employees because that's how I scheduled it. Susie is very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. A few times I have had to reschedule due to being called into work or I've called/texted when I'm running late as I live about 30 mins away. I have been going here for over 5 years. I have had wonderful experiences with multiple services and even have friends going with no issues. I can only speak from my experience which has always been great, if there was ever a mix up I was compensated with a make up session of some sort. Susie works 6-7 days a week to keep this business going which is not easy in this Economy. She is always adding new services and she is so up to date with the latest technology on the market. Zero stars. I had a Groupon and bought an LED Photofacial package. So I intended to do 6 week's of Cavi Lip and 6 week's of LED facial, one right after the other. First two weeks were fine. Then the girl who did both services was no longer working there. So for the next 3 week's I was subjected to waiting past my scheduled time, then while in a service people come in and out of the room. Machines are rolled from one room to the other and the owner asked me not to buy anymore services from Groupon. Firstly, I paid FULL PRICE for 6 week LED facial package. And Cavi-Lip at $260 was not what I would call a real deal for results. I have 2 week's left, so let's see what happens and how I will be treated after posting this review. Secondly, as per the fine print on Groupon you can repurchase deals every 30 days. I felt as little as little can be that the owner of the business made me feel like I was screwing the business. If you don't like customers using Groupons DON'T PUT DEALS UP ON GROUPON. That's a business move, nothing to do with the customer. I have no doubt the owner will respond to this review. But at the end of the day, the old adage "the customer is always right" is just good for business. I certainly did not feel right when she told me not to purchase anymore Groupons. Yes, they'll honor them, but the owner will not be all smiles about it. Read the other one star reviews. We are all saying pretty much the same thing. Buyer beware- especially if it is a Groupon. Please don't come here. Read not only my review but the other reviews where clients have had the same complaint of terrible communication, unorganized appointment keeping and bad management. I bought a groupon for my husband to get a facial about a year ago. He had a good treatment with the facial for the first time but then he bought a package. Once you call to set up your appointments you hardly ever get someone on the phone. I'm not sure what system they use for their appointments but they always cancel or lose the appointment times. I called for an appointment and had it set up on Saturday. Then Susie the manager (or owner) called my husband to cancel it and re-scheduled for Sunday. At this point I was fed up with the back and forth that always takes place. Susie insulted me via text message saying that I had herpes on my face (she doesn't remember that she had turned me away because I had just gotten a nose piercing) which I understand the risk of infection with them touching your face for a facial. Had an amazing experience with Susie. Went in for a facial without knowing too much about the process, and was advised to first be treated with a microdermabrasion since my pores were clearly clogged and I was breaking out, and got a complimentary mask afterwards. Might be placebo but I feel like my skin is better already. The staff was nice and the place is clean. I called the day of my appointment to confirm, and there were no issues. I had booked a groupon voucher for 1 full face waxing and I went there and was told that I would have to wait a week as they didn't have the material to perform the service which is already ridiculous. I decided to give them another chance and went back a week later only to be told by the owner that I would have to wait another two weeks for the service as they weren't prepared. False advertising is something that is not appreciated in the United States, if you cannot perform a service in a reasonable timeframe you should not be advertising such service, especially on third party apps such as Groupon. I've been going to Biotone for three years and definitely noticed improvements in my skin from early on. This is why I continue to go, even if some of the estheticians aren't stellar. Most are good. They have treatments you cannot find in this area and, if you can, Biotone is way less expensive. It's not a "spa", so if you're expecting that, you'll be disappointed. They do the best they can with what they have. And if you expect to use a Groupon every time like some of these reviewers, you'll be disappointed. No business continues accepting Groupons for every service over time. It doesn't make sense. How would they stay in business? Hung up on yelled at and so very very unprofessional. If you're looking for warm, professional, relaxing, professional, clean, professional, thorough, professional, dependable, professional, informative or professional service here, you won't find it. If you're looking for a bargain, you get what you paid for, but only if you've wisely used a Groupon. I went 4 times for IPL (anti-aging light treatment). I'd specifically requested Susie the owner for each appointment, and been told "no problem." I requested Susie because she did my first treatment and I'd seen a difference in my skin tone. I never saw Susie again and those positives results were never duplicated by the other clinicians, not even her mother. And yes, I did call and speak to Susie about my concerns, and no, it made no difference. She was subsequently "unavailable" each time I showed up for my appointments with her. Twice they'd overbooked and no one was available to see me at all. Twice. Susie offered me a freebie as an apology, but I decided after my 4th visit, that a 5th visit -- even a FREE one -- just wasn't worth the frustration of dealing with the dark, cramped, creepy waiting area while waiting to see just how late I'd be lead (anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes late each time!) to a tiny treatment room by a clinician who didn't know my name or why I was there, or why Susie was "unavailable." I went in for a Cavi-Lipo treatment and it was nothing from what I was expecting. In short, they rub a cream on you and run an oscillating machine all over your stomach or targeted area for about 45 minutes. This procedure may be fine for some people but I have been using an anti-cellulite cream I got off Amazon for $14 with a $10 cellulite massager and had been giving myself the same procedure. Now, this may not be the same exact thing but it is similar. Wish I knew that before hand, otherwise I wouldn't have done it. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, the staff was friendly and the procedure was somewhat relaxing. From waiting around the office till it was my turn to see the nurse, I noticed a lot of people were there from Groupon, which is fine but boy was that place busy for such a small office. read more

I initially went to Biotone last year to start microderm treatments before I got married. The place is nothing fancy (not what you think of when you think "Westport") but everyone was nice enough, it was clean, and the microderm services were fine (at a package of 4 for $100 you couldn't beat it). However there is a LOT of staff turnover and services were hit or miss. Some good, some definitely not. One day I had a microderm scheduled and laid on the bed for about 15 minutes until someone came in. (It was clear that they were understaffed and no one was available for my service) The owner came in and slathered something on my face. I asked her twice, "I am getting the microderm today, correct?" to which she replied "yes." She left for a LONG time and my face began to itch like crazy to the point where I almost got up (with whatever it was on my face) and walked out. 45 minutes in, the owner came back in and rinsed my face. Turns out she lied to me and did a chemical peel WITHOUT my consent. I had a pre-wedding makeup appointment scheduled the following week, and my skin was agitated and peeling. When she arrived she was very rude, she walked by and sat and said nothing after 3 minutes she then proceeded to ask me a few questions but then told me to leave because she is busy so I left later on she asked me to email my resume which I did a few hours later she offered me the job via text but when she texted me the hours she asked me to work 12 hour shifts on the weekends thats when things took a turn for the worst. At the very 1st time she called me she was thrilled to the fact that I was Ecuadorian supposedly because she likes our work ethic but that's not the case she likes Ecuadorians because we are very nice people and she thinks she can walk all over us and nobody will say a thing. I got their name from a Groupon promotion and Talit talked me into a series of 6 treatments for my face. At first, I was thinking "ahhh this is how they get people to spend money" but let me tell you, she was right. My skin has never looked better, and Talit is so knowledgeable and kind! It's like spending an hour with an old friend! I have been doing the Photofacials, which Talit reccommended in a series of 6, which after three of them I can see a complete tranformation. She even offered to "zap" an ugly zit coming out on a Saturday for me. If you are looking for great skin care, then this is the place. You are in and out in no time, so it's really perect for people with a tight schedule who don't have time for all that extra stuff at your appointment. Their hours are also extended into late evenings for those of us who don't want to spend our Saturdays at the salon! However, if you are looking for spa-like accommodations and pampering, go someplace else. ADDITON: Having loved the place so much the first few times I went, I bought Groupons galore and LivingSocial deals whenever they came up. I called this place THREE times and left THREE messages to try to book an appointment, but nobody called me back. I went for microdermabrasion/light therapy and the woman (Elna or Elena; the other employees weren't sure of her name) suggested an extraction. No steam was used. The woman was rough and destroyed my chin (see pictures). This was the day of my birthday and it ruined my weekend. I felt hideous. When I informed Susie of the incident, she suggested that I put Cortisone on it, and she informed me that this "Elna" had 25 years experience. Where is what I'd like to know. When I went another time (I had to finish my package), a new employee named Melissa had completely no idea what she was doing. She clearly wasn't trained. She dragged the microdermabrasion wand down my face in one long stroke. The treatment was over twenty minutes too soon. All that Susie could say was sorry that it didn't work out for me. I know you'll see this place on Groupon and think it's a great deal, but save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. I went in with a Groupon to check this place out. I will start with the good aspects. The facialist was totally professional and the facial itself was nice. I do like the fact that the products are owner made and they are not full of toxins or tested on animals. I wasn't a fan of some of the mask scents, but can appreciate the dedication to making a good product. The negative aspects are this -- they immediately start upselling you on purchasing a package deal citing their long standing reputation and the fact that they are "open until 9pm" to accommodate people who work (like me), although the hours noted on the door say they are only open until 6pm. They had NO robes and actually wanted me to lay down in my work clothes. I have never been to a spa that doesn't offer wraps or robes. The room was ice cold. I was freezing the entire time, which made the whole experience unpleasant. And I heard the guy in the next room talking the entire time out loud. It's not a fancy place or luxurious in any way, but I don't hold that against them. They tried several times to pressure me into buying more saying the "offer was only good for today." When I passed, they got insulted and said "so you aren't coming back, good bye." Not a terrible facial at all. But not a place I will return to. Part 2 of my review now includes hives all over my neck and chest the day after this facial, and the skin on my face is erupting with irritations. I take back what I said about quality products being used and who knows what was in them given they are home spun and not from any reputable cosmetic manufacturer. It could use a fresh coat of paint, some new carpeting and an update. Susie informed me that they had been practicing in this location for 19 years, so how bad could it be? After my first session, my skin looked renewed. I'm going back for more treatments and came home with a full cleansing regimen to augment the photo rejuvenation. The lady was trying to sell me on buying more (unpleasant) facials the entire time and insulting me and my skin for the entirety of the visit. I understand she probably needs more business ... but she should know that people don't enjoy the pushy atmosphere she created. My first photofacial felt like a warm lightbulb against my skin. It was a little cold in the bare room, but the women try to make it comfortable with opera. The aesthetician gave a lot of helpful education. We reviewed my skincare regimen. I saw subtle results afterwards, such as light peeling and small reduction of pigment in dark areas. Blackheads were purged. It is supposed to help stimulate collagen production, but I suppose that requires more treatments to see results. They are specialists with ethnic skin. I've been here a few times for microdermabrasion. The staff is always very friendly and answers all of my questions. The rooms are very small, but cozy once you are settled and know what to expect. I would not recommend this place at all. I feel like they are always trying to sell me something and could care less about my skincare. Most of the girls can't even speak English very well and someone is always walking in on you during your treatment. I don't trust them, I paid for a treatment package and then I was told they aren't offering that package anymore so I was out of the money and wasn't able to finish my treatments for what I original paid. What!? And I question how often they clean anything. That blanket on the bed looks like the cat was using it so they decided to use it at the clinic. Don't waste your money. read more
