First off the starter and his other old man buddy were flat out rude. The course itself is tiny.. I used a pitching wedge as my driver on half the holes. Because they're all so short the greens look like the surface of the moon covered in craters, good luck putting more than 3 feet. I wasn't a fan of the place, but the bartenders and cashier were very nice and that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one. read more

Wonderful round today. Started around 6:45 done by 9:25. Everyone from the check in desk, to starter and course assistants/ambassadors were courteous and diligent to ensure everyone was having a great experience. Course conditions were wonderful. I play here regularly with friends. The fairways are always in good condition but golfers need to be better about fixing their divots on the greens. Some of the shorter greens look like a mini-meteor shower cratered a planet. Range mats and balls need some updating but for the price, its a great deal! read more

This was my first time ever playing on a golf course and it was great! Tee time was at 10am Thursday morning and parking was plentiful. The course was clean, well maintained, and very forgiving! There are water ponds so you can loose some balls. We played the full 18 holes and it took about 4 hours. If it's your first time playing a course I would highly recommend Birch Hills. Love this course very relaxing play. However this course refuses to answer the phone when you call, I play here often and they NEVER answer the phone when you call the proshop! As well I have been collection course golf balls and this is the only course I have played that refuses to get logo golf balls restocked. They have been saying for 3 months "oh they should come in any day" and they never come in and I can never get them on the phone to ask if they have go them in yet. As well I am a younger guy in my late 20s all the starters here tend to be very rude compared to other golf courses! Great fun course not a good system and workers. read more

Staff and Marshall are very friendly and I like the vibe here. I have a low handicap but I still enjoy playing here - helps sharpen up my short game. Pace can be slow but you should still finish a round under 4 hours. Even though it sometimes play slow, it gives you time to really enjoy the outdoors. You can ride a cart or rent a push cart or bring your own. Very walkable and it's great exercise. Greens were good for a short course and for the course itself, it was in fairly good condition for an affordable public course. read more

WHY IS THE DRIVING RANGE ALWAYS CLOSED?!? It's beyond frustrating! The hours posted are NEVER accurate, and it feels like they just make up their own schedule depending on the day. I've driven over there so many times, only to find they decided to close randomly close the driving range--complete waste of time! This is absolutely terrible customer service. If you're going to advertise set hours, at least stick to them! read more

My eight year old decided that he wanted clubs for his 8th birthday. Not one to do things half ass, I told him that if he wanted to get into the sport, then I expected no less than a one year commitment (I expect this of all my kids in any sport they play, if not a year, then at least the whole season). In exchange for the commitment, I got him a set of junior Cobra clubs, Footjoy shoes and gloves, and a one year membership at Birch Hills. The $99.00 membership gets you discounted range balls, discounted greens fees and discounts on merchandise in the pro shop. Given that we hit balls once a week, the $99.00 quickly pays for itself. The range is rather abysmal to look at, all dried out and yellow, but the course is well kept and challenging for what it is. The pro shop staff is polite and the food looked pretty good. The selection of gloves and other accessories are on the light side, but if you look hard enough, you'll probably find what you're looking for. For me, the bonding time with my son was worth coming here, even if we didn't get a membership... oh, and the wifey seemed pretty interested in trying the sport. Now THAT, if it happens, will have made this place EPIC. read more

Easy parking, decent driving range, nice clubhouse, bar and eats. Cheap and delicious hot dog. Executive course in generally decent shape but their greens are patchy as hell and players don't repair their ball marks. read more

Been here a handful of times with friends, came last weekend. Decent pace of play (our tee time was at 7:30a) I imagine the pace slows down as it gets later in the day. Greens show no signs of maintenance whatsoever. We finished in about 2.5 hours. We stopped by the grill/bar for some food. Management needs to do a better job on the food portions. We ordered 2 sets of nachos, calamari, and fries and when they brought out the nachos and calamari we looked at each other in disbelief by how small the portions were. For the amount you are paying, you might as well get food somewhere else. We all agreed we'll never eat there again. read more

I go to Birch Hills often. It's such a great course for working on your short game. The course is great and the service is always outstanding. Today a couple of friends and I decided to go there for lunch. What a treat! They are making changes to the menu on 3/1/24. The General Manager, Nellie, treated us to a tasting of the new menu items. Mind blown! Fried Calamari, Flatbread Chicken Pizza with Hot Honey Drizzle (they also have cheese & also pepperoni and cheese as well), Fried Pot Stickers and believe it or not, Shrimp Scampi! Every bit of it was delicious! All of it! I would highly recommend Birch Hills Golf Course for several reasons. #1 - Great course. #2 - Awesome customer service every time. and #3 - The food! read more

Enjoy golfing at Birch Hills for many reasons. First, it's walkable, and I love walking with a push cart. I also love that it has a variety of skill levels and challenges for those either new to the game or advanced golfers wanting to perfect their game at Sand or water hazards. Course looks pretty taken care of if you don't include the greens. The greens were pretty beat up, couldn't tell what the greens were doing at all. Then the starter(don't remember his name, we tee'd off around 12 on 3/16). Not entirely sure what his issue was, but he needs to get off that high pedestal he sits on. Getting ready to go out, we go to check in and he lookin up and down at and my friend like he got a problem. Then the way he talked to us was pretty demeaning. No clue what crawled up his ass, but he gotta chill out. Completely unprofessional and rude! read more

I love playing this course. I was able to have two friends with me today and we were repeatedly told to catch up to the golfers ahead of us by the Golf Ambassador. We were playing at a pace in which we would tee off when the golfers ahead of us cleared the green. We did this for safety reasons due to one of my friends being able to hit the ball. At one point the Ambassador told us we could only hit one ball. The third golfer is new to the sport and was not taking extra time. The foursome behind us was almost a hole and a half behind us. This took place on Thursday afternoon. I hope no one has had any issues like this. read more

They use a 3rd party system for booking which is extremely painful to use. It takes on average 8-10 minutes to book because they have so many questions. Though I've given them my card multiple times they can never seem to keep in file. They always put you on hold etc. Also, they never send out emails when the range is closed (like the other local courses do) and it's closed a lot. Even when you call there to see if it's open I've been told it was open in 2 occasions only to get there and find out it's closed. If this is the company you're going to use to represent your golf course I highly recommend improving it. read more

Returned 2 weeks ago to play with my daughter's boyfriend. While sharing swing tips, we were approached by a gentleman who told me I am not allowed to "teach" unless I have paid for that privilege. I explained I am not a teaching professional. His reply was that I've been nicely warned. If that's a policy applied to any one one the range, it's absurd. What type of conversation is expected between friends and family on the range at a golf course. Are you also policing players on the course who discuss swing mechanics? Do you threaten parents who attempt to introduce golf to their young children? If I were a teaching professional or if I was getting paid to teach, I would understand the warning. But I am neither. John, the person I was helping that day, has been my daughter's boyfriend close to 10 years. We can prove that with family pictures and text messages. Your policy is petty and reflects a substantial level of insecurity especially for the instructor. A successful and in demand instructor wouldn't worry about what is being shared by a 62 year old amateur and a guy who had only been playing golf for the second time. Instead of censuring casual golf conversation, find ways to encourage and sustain participation in the game of golf. read more

Birch Hills is one of my two "go-to" courses. An executive course that's just long enough to give my game a good workout while not taking half the day. The course is pretty well maintained, and with the Chapman Rewards program you get to earn free rounds. Definitely a fun outing. read more
