After we sat down, someone came and took our drink order. Then 20 minutes later she came around again and said our food would be out in a minute... WE HADNT SEEN HER SINCE SHE TOOK OUR DRINK ORDER SO WE HADNT EVEN ORDERED YET! She took our order, never wrote anything down, and then tried to repeat it and got it wrong just after hearing it 30 seconds before, so I knew it wasn't going to be good. Another 20 minutes after that our food came... well some of it. Both of our bacon cheese burgers had no bacon and the sides of fries for the kids never came either. Random Tuesday decided to check out Birch Bar in Groveport. The place wasn't busy, looked like most people there were enjoying their drinks. I sat at a table and waited, then the bar and waited. 2 ladies behind the bar. One putting beer away and the other exchanging green bean recipes with a patron. I waited for an acknowledgment. A simple I'll be with you in a minute. Would have been nice. Again waited. I turned the guy next to me and asked him? Anyone working here tonight? He pointed at the girl still putting away the beer bottles. I asked him does she not see me? I yelled "HELLO! can I order here" she turns and says the "other girl will take your order" again I waited. That green bean recipe must have been spectacular because she never acknowledged me. I figured before I have a bitch fit and get arrested I better leave. People in small towns get upset when local establishments close. This is one of the reasons. The staff! They're too concerned about having a good time and not concerned with why they're there. I will never go back! Everywhere I go I will let everyone and anyone know what a waste of a potentially great local tavern it could be. read more

A rare date night with my wife and we are DONE with the Birch. Friday night, and it' s packed. Waited over 5 minutes for a stale pitcher of beer. Usually we get a couple of glass pint glasses but this time it was served up with plastic cups. half of the pitcher was nothing but foam. We tried getting another pitcher of another brand of beer but after a 10 minute wait we ended our very short date. Did I mention a small pitcher of beer was $15??? NEVER AGAIN! A new bar is set to op just across the street....thank the beer gods! The owner needs to stop being so cheep and hire more staff and offer a better product! read more

Came from the area airport. Called first to find out if they are open at 9:30 am and if they serve alcohol. The lady said why yes!! And proceeded to help our cabby out with directions. We arrived within 10 minutes and it was closed with a worker telling us they don't open until 11:30. Our cabby had left by then. Thanks a lot! read more

When you have every intention of eating healthy and you find a place that takes angus beef franks and either, wraps them in bacon, wraps them with pretzels, or covers them with chili cheese and onions.. gotta go big or go home this place has amazing food and service! read more

The Birch is a great place! I love the atmosphere, they serve Columbus Brewing IPA at the perfect cold temperature, and the bar food is tasty! I have yet to have a bad time there. If you are looking a high end, "club" type bar this isn't it. However, if your looking for a home-town, friendly, pub were you can visit or hang out, this is it. read more

A couple friends and I decided to give this place a try since it was just up the road from us and boy did we make a mistake! Took forever to get a drink at the bar and the female bartender looked completely lost when given an order for drinks. The one bartender just stood there and didn't do anything and kept passing everything to the female bartender to handle. There was a guy behind the bar who I thought was a bartender and I saw his shirt from a concert and tried to talk to him about it and he gave me a dirty look and turned and talked to the other bartender and blew me off! I found out he was actually the karaoke guy and he was very rude and had favorites with in the singers and when I asked if I could put a song he told me no and turned away from and refused to talk to me. I never said or did anything disrespectful to him but because I wasn't a local or one of the singers he favored I was blown off. This is one bar that I would suggest staying away from unless you want to be treated like dirt. Plus the restrooms were dirty, no locks on the doors, and no tp and few paper towels. Love this place. Friendly staff and great food. The wings are incredible. Also am a big fan of the chicken club and chicken salad wrap. This could be a real gold mine, The location is perfect, ambiance is great, but the staff is more interested in socializing than taking care of customers. We have been a few times and each time we wait and wait and wait on our order, whether were at a table or at the bar. In fact, last night (Friday 4/8/16) we were sitting at the bar which was fairly empty and still couldn't get good service. We always had to look for her. Looking around, the table closest to us had the same feeling. Always had to ask more than once for a drink. And for a Friday night, this place was not crowded at all. When the karaoke guy started setting up and turned on the mirror ball, we got the hell out of there! We went next door to Little Italy which was packed and still got great service! read more
