Went to Pataskala to get pie from the Nutcracker Restaurant only to find out its closed today.... So after a quick Yelp search of lunch near me, the first hit was Olde Towne Cafe and Inn which had five stars. I decided to check it out. I have to say I drove right past it! I was expecting for something a bit more store-fronty this really looks like a house and I missed their signage. I turned around on Rail Street... got distracted at Porters but within five minutes was back on track to Olde Towne. They have a small parking lot which had a space, so I eagerly parked and popped i side. It is super cute. Very farm house-ish. Definitely a old house converted i to a bed and breakfast with most of the downstairs rooms dining. The kitchen can be seen from the room I sat in. It looked very clean and organized. I browsed the menu and decided on pancakes. They are served with bacon or sausage.... Im not a huge meat eater so I chose bacon and crumbled up on the pancake.... Ended up pushing it off the pancake and not eating it. Not their fault. Bacon is fine but Im just liking bacon less and less. Today was a no bacon day. Lol. However the pancakes! Wowzers. Huge. Fluffy. i got two that were each almost as big as the oblong platter they were served on. I couldnt finish all of it. They were delicious. I see why people give this place a good rating. The staff was welcoming and make you feel at home. Its just a good old fashioned breakfast/lunch spot. Not bougie at all... which to me is a plus "not" to be bougie. Sometimes you just need a place that feels like home. This is that place. read more

Only one good thing about the cold weather - it's hot soup season! I was hungry and cold and came looking for a solution. That solution was found here- a delicious bowl of steaming hot homemade cauliflower and cheese soup. And I paired that with an incredible grilled cheese. The soup was thick and creamy, with plenty of cauliflower in a rich, thick soup. It was the best I have ever had and if it was an all you could eat deal - I would still be there eating! I felt like I was sitting in a warm country kitchen. The place was decorated tastefully and warmly for the season. I will have to come back and check out their other soups. I loved the whole experience here and think I will come here often!! And the service was as warm and friendly as the atmosphere! Hats off to this comfort food jewel! read more

Just went there for the first time yesterday with another couple. My husband got the spaghetti dinner. The spaghetti was not cooked enough. He did not eat it. He told the waitress and she said she would tell someone. She never came back with any comments. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and noticed that we were charged for two cokes. we only had one. When I called them today to ask about the 2 charges, she said that they use cans, so we were actually paying for another coke when we asked for refills. So beware, no refills. I tried to ask to speak to the owner but I was hung up on several times. Needless to say, this will be our last visit. read more

What a cute place with alot of charm. They have parking in the back. 3 places in the house for seating. We came at breakfast time, was greeted as soon as we walked in. I had the farmer's sandwich with was a ham and fried egg on sourdough with groun mustard,it was really good and their home potatoes are good. My husband got the BLT with fries, he said the BLT was good and had a lot bacon on it and he preferred the home potatoes over the fries because he kept eating mine. The service was fast and they were very friendly. Would definitely go back, would like to try it out for lunch or dinner. read more

Stopped in to get a late breakfast at Old Towne Cafe for the first time today and very glad we did. It brought me back to my early years growing up in a small town in southwestern Ohio. Friendly and efficient staff and congenial local patrons in a homey farmhouse ambiance. The food was quite good with fresh eggs scrambled and seasoned right along with a perfect Belgian waffle. Coffee was freshly brewed and the tea choices top notch. I will be recommending this great option to my friends and family. read more

Quirky place with great food and friendly staff. The breakfast sandwask was delicious and not too thick that you couldn't bite into it. The waffles were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The homefries were a little salty for my taste but that is a minor complaint. The staff was also very sweet to my dog. read more

My first visit to the Olde Towne Cafe & Inn was very pleasant. The employees are mostly family members and they are very friendly. They treat you like family too. The Cafe has old time wallpaper, wood floors, old pictures in frames and an authentic Elvis Presley outfit on display. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms which you can rent. All very comfortably and charming. Next time I go I want to order the homemade chicken noodle soup or the bean soup with corn bread. read more

Absolutely one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at before! The restaurants atmosphere is so cozy, the servers are genuinely nice, the owners are impeccable couldn't of asked for a better dinning experience!!! I love the comfy homey feeling of dinning in the comfort of your own home only better because you don't have to do the cooking or even wait on anyone else. Lol This restaurant offers daily specials along with their everyday menu. Tonight's specials were tilapia. Salmon, meatloaf, cabbage rolls and sides, everting sounded amazing was such a hard discussion to make, so my husband and i decided to get the meatloaf and cabbage rolls that way we could enjoy the bust of both dinners and was definitely a win for the both of us. Everything was so good even our grand daughter enjoyed both our meals along with hers. Oh and i don't want to forget the wine selection offered was a new wine for me a local well semi local winery about an hour out called Raven Glenn the wine i chose was a moonshine wine combo and wow it was amazingly delicious! If your in that part of town or just passing thru this is hands down one of the best restaurants offered!! Old Towne Cafe is great if you're looking for a homely, delicious meal. The restaurant is in a house so it added to the cozy vibes. My boyfriend and I came here early afternoon so he ordered waffles and I got the chicken salad sandwich. Both were satisfying. What I loved most, however, was the very friendly staff, inviting atmosphere ... and the complementary muffins served at the beginning of our meal. I have to commend Olde Towne Cafe & Inn for shattering any expectations I may have had. My girlfriend and I were heading from Columbus to Dawes Arboretum on a Sunday morning and decided to stop for an early lunch along the way. OTC seemed to fit what we were looking for, and boy did it ever come through... We were immediately greeted upon entry, with the proprietors joking about how they were taking bets on which table we'd choose to sit at. When we did take a seat, service was swift and friendly, and I decided on the waffle squares with bacon, while my girlfriend went with a chicken salad sandwich (chicken salad being one of OTC's specialties). A few moments after we placed our order, we were provided with a couple of muffins, gratis...and they were amazing. They were essentially coffee cake muffins, and were still warm from the oven. "Delicious" doesn't even begin to cover it. We both enjoyed our respective meals -- my waffles were a nice blend of soft and crispy, while my bacon was the level of crispy that you can only seem to find in a cafe like this. My girlfriend also enjoyed her sandwich quite a bit, and our conversation naturally turned to the menu items we'd want to try the next time we returned...because there surely *will* be a next time. In truth, this restaurant has the kind of homey quality that is increasingly hard to find. Some other places try to fake it, but Olde Town Cafe is the real deal. This place is AMAZING!!! All the food is superior to anything else we have in town and I would put it up against any breakfast place! The service is top notch and we love supporting local. Was looking forward to trying this place since the new ownership took over. We got carryout. The food in my opinion is just 'okay.' It tastes like it's been made days ahead of time and then reheated. I had the salmon with couscous and asparagus. Also, a cup of chicken noodle soup. There was no couscous (and I specifically asked when placing the order about it. The salmon was okay but definitely not fresh, and the cream sauce on top was overwhelming. The asparagus overcooked. The chicken noodle soup was a creamy version and not good at all. Why dont you call it creamy chicken noodle? It also tasted not fresh and was lukewarm so i know it was probably in the freezer and reheated. I tried to revive it in the microwave, but could not eat it. I was up most of the night not feeling well afterward. My husband said his cheeseburger was also just okay and my son said the same thing about his chicken parmesan. Almost $55 for carryout. We probably will not be back and I'll never order those items again. I wanted this place to be good and support another local establishment, but just can't do it. Today we discovered a wonderful little cafe in Patalaska. Scott bought the place in June to help save a long standing business. You can hear hear his passion when he talks about his plans. Our waitress, Tori, was a delight. We wish them the best and will be back to see the progress. read more

Super nice lady owns the establishment, and there are lovely B&B rooms upstairs. If you call her a couple days ahead of time, she will make you a pie! I like that they have beans and cornbread without pork in it. I have a baby pig. I can't eat something my pet is made out of. read more
