I am a first-time client of Dianne's and I cannot say enough good things about my experience having a facial yesterday at Birch Tree Esthetics. To begin with, making an appointment was so easy. I'm not a big phone person (mostly because my using the phone is cue for my toddler to start yelling and following me around like a little beast) but I was able to set up my appt online and she was extremely accommodating in finding a time that worked for me...even seeing me on a Sunday morning. The space is nestled in the new West Acton VillageWorks which is clean, bright and trendy. Parking is no problem. Birch Tree Esthetics itself is stylish, inviting, warm, light..everything you'd hope for. Dianne is so personable and welcoming and I immediately liked her. The facial itself was wonderful. The products she used smelled amazing (lots of natural, organic ingredients) so much so that when I came home my daughter said "something smells really nice!" when I walked in the door...when I bent down to hug her she said it was my face! I loved the steam she used and the hand mitts, the massage of my arms and neck and the gentle type of exfoliating treatment she used...everything was great. It is now 24 hrs past my appointment and I still can't get over how plump, smooth and soft my skin feels and looks. It was such a treat. I'd recommend Dianne to anyone! read more

From the moment I stepped into Diane's (of Birch Tree Esthetics) small but beautifully decorated studio, I felt comfortable and at home. Diane continued to make me feel that way as we chatted about pretty much everything under the sun during my facial. After first reviewing my skin under the light, she gave me her "review" of the condition it was in as well as some suggestions for what to do differently when cleansing. However, I NEVER felt like she was pushing products at all. Throughout the entire facial, she treated me not just like a customer, but as a friend she truly cared about -- her empathy came across through how well and thoroughly she did my facial. And not only is she friendly and just an overall nice person, but she has about 40 (?) years of experience doing that work. Dianne is a miracle worker! First - location. Her space is in the new West Acton Villageworks. There is street parking out front and plenty of parking in the back as well. Birch Tree is located in the Wellness at Villageworks building. There is a nice seating area outside of Dianne's space. Once inside Birch Tree Esthetics, you immediately get a sense of Dianne's style with the decor she has chosen for her space. The space is very relaxing. The important part - the facial. My sister and I both booked facials with Dianne. While we were waiting for the other to finish we grabbed iced chai lattes from Acton Coffee House, right next door. I digress. My skin has been a nightmare lately, I've been having raging hormonal breakouts. My sister actually said to me, "Your skin did not look this bad when you were a teenager!" I'd be mad at her if it wasn't true. Dianne gently cleansed my skin before steaming and extractions. I also added on the ultrasound treatment. I wasn't sure how much improvement to expect (she can't give me a new face, this is not the Hall of Faces - GoT reference) but by the next day my breakouts were noticeably less vicious. I had a wonderful experience when I visited this morning for a facial. The studio space is soothing and tidy. Dianne is remarkably personable. She has a great deal of expertise as an esthetician and is down to earth. I have had facials at other spas and salons and been "shamed" for my skin imperfections...dry spots, congested pores or mild sun damage. This is usually followed up with pressure to purchase a skin care line to correct my complexion. Not the case with Dianne! She was actually complimentary. I inquired about products and she offered me samples to try over the next couple weeks. I left the appt feeling refreshed, relaxed and happy. I had the best facial of my life at Birch Tree!! Dianne knows her stuff!! I have very sensitive skin that seems to turn red at the mere mention of any kind of lotion: to make matters worse I am not one to spend hours on applying a regime to my face every day. Dianne was extremely knowledgeable and understanding .Dianna took the time to find products that worked with my skin to create a facial that worked for me. My skin has never looked better, and the whole experience really was so relaxing. I am a firm believer in monthly facials and the way my skin looks is the best reason to make this investment.
