We were in the process of moving and when the movers removed furniture and area rugs, we saw how dirty the travertine floors and carpet were. I know that we were going to need carpet cleaning, but I could not believe how the travertine darkened over time until I saw what it was underneath the rug. I called in a jam because I needed the floors cleaned immediately so that we could close the sale of the house without making the new owners upset. They came out, gave a reasonable bid, and were there the following day. They did an amazing job and the floors looked as if they were brand new. the bathroom plumbing sprung a leak into a closet and wasn't discovered for several months, which resulted in mold and damp walls. Plumbing repair was expertly done by Gary and John Berger of Berger Plumbing. Will Birchall then inspected the damage, told us what needed to be done and that he and David would clean it up. They cut out drywall, had the mold removed and the air certified mold free. They were able to remove the bathroom vanity and its granite counter top. they put in new drywall, replaced the vanity and painted the walls. Will and David were very cordial, always tidied up the area before they left for the day. They are professional, did a great job and I highly recommend them. read more

Our realtor hooked us up with Birchall Restoration, to inspect some mold on a home we were considering purchasing. The owner, Will, tested it, and once escrow was closed, he removed mold in the attic on the support beams and in the garage. Will was responsive, started right away, and had good follow-up. He did a thorough job, including cleaning up afterwards. We were so pleased with the work and his responsiveness, that when a plumber couldn't find the leak in the kitchen sink area, we called Birchall Restoration. We knew from our previous experience with Will, that he wasn't afraid to jump right in and investigate the situation thoroughly. Will responded right away and found the leak quickly. We needed the leak stopped and the new water damage repaired under the sink (damage to the melamine and drywall under the sink). Throughout the whole repair process he gave us options and kept us informed. At the point we realized that the subtop was damaged and wouldn't dry, Will worked with us to demo the old countertops and prep the kitchen for new counter installation. I have lived in Fallbrook for 11 years and have to admit I have hired Birchall Restoration on numerous occasions not only for routine rug and grout cleaning but, also for extensive repair following water damage - in more than one home. We have had the bathtub overflow and completely flood the master bedroom causing significant water damage to the flooring, drywall and baseboards. This occurred late in the day and Will and his team were "Johnny on the spot" to minimize damage and get our place back to normal. In a rental property we have in Orange County, a tenant left the water flowing overnight and from the second floor incurred water damage down to the first floor. Birchall was very responsive and got right on it to remediate any further damage. He was able to quickly determine there was mold involved and was able to isolate and clear it up to meet testing standards afterwards. Finally, in another home we lived in, we had a washing machine malfunction and we had water damage through the garage walls - soaking our new hardwood floors. Will and his team quickly responded, isolated the problem and performed the repairs. Most recently, in addition to solving another water pipe leak he completed a bathroom upgrade for me to include showers, tub, sinks, tops and floors. Will Birchall and his team have ALWAYS been extremely professional, timely, courteous, and operate with the utmost integrity. We called Will to begin the process of restoration after some significant water damage, including replacing 1400 sq. ft. of flooring, repairing drywall and repainting the entire condo. Will was quick to schedule an on-site visit to talk with us after our water loss incident. I requested that he come out to look at the property and make an assessment and provide an estimate we could compare to our insurance settlement that was also in process at the time. Will came out on Tuesday morning, looked around, took measurements and we discussed options. I asked his opinion about three different types of flooring to replace our engineered hardwood - a new wood floor, a contemporary tile solution, or polishing the concrete slab and leaving it uncovered. We spoke in general terms about the costs of each, and Will said that it was quite a burden to prepare a separate estimate for all three, but he would be happy to prepare one for both the tile and wood floor options, since that was mainly just swapping out the coverage material costs. (Where the polished concrete would be an entirely different process). I said that sounds great to me, and he left promising estimates possibly by the next day, or at the latest on Thursday. So far, so good. But then it went bad. I got a text on Thursday afternoon that said "Writing your bids now." Then nothing. I sent an email to follow up on Friday. Nothing. Finally, on the following Tuesday night, I received a text that said he couldn't get to the project until August at the earliest, he had not completed any estimates, that it wasn't worth his time writing a proposal for 2 hours without reimbursement. I can't speak to the quality of work that Will and Birchall Restoration perform, because they won't be performing work for me. In my experience, a lack of professionalism in communication with a client often reflects the way the rest of the business is run. I have spoken to Will and expressed my displeasure with his professionalism. He texted me and called me a pri*k and asked me to lose his number. YMMV. read more
