I hired Briarwood Tree to remove back , side and front trees (5) then clean out and remove overgrown trees thru a fence and clean up the area of my fence that fell a few weeks ago. But nooo he tore up my yard destroyed my stone circle where the three Oak trees were, and then the manager left and didn't tell me how he was going to fix it. I had to get the guys (the worker guys ) help put it back together, then they tore up the yard with holes, forklift tire tracks, a tree hole not filled in after being removed, then did the same thing to the front yard.. I had Brichwood trim my trees over a month ago. They damaged my siding and I am now being avoided from the owner to address and fix the issue. It is likely the entire side of my once perfect aluminum wall will need to be replaced as the one spot cannot be fixed. After acknowledging this, the owner offered a whopping 250 dollars off the tree trimming... This is very unprofessional and I would recommend doing business with a company with more integrity. read more

Did a fine job. Trimmed a huge tree in my yard and took them maybe 30 minutes, so it seemed a little rushed to me-but I am not sure how long this type of work takes. Cleaned up my yard and did what they said. Not super friendly people to work with so if that's something you care about maybe pay more to have someone do your job. read more

SCAM- Cut the wrong half of the tree that we asked for for a free of £250. When we pointed this out they asked for a further £250 to rectify the issue. He started getting aggressive and told us to meet him at the Belvedere Caravan Park..? He said that he would be happy to dump the waste on our car park and leave without payment. When asking for recorded verification he changed his story, so we paid for the terrible job he did. He essentially wanted between £500-£1000 for one small tree. I was referred to Birchwood this past summer (2020) right after we moved to Palatine. Our front and back yard needed, and still needs to this day, some work done. Jeff came out and gave us a quote to have three large, overgrown bushes and a large, lingering trunk taken out of our front yard. The crew at Birchwood showed up a few days later and were in and out within 30 minutes. They quickly removed all three bushes and the trunk, ground the bushes down, removed the stumps, and thoroughly cleaned up after. The only part that threw me for a curve was them showing up a couple days earlier than we agreed to on the proposal. Thankfully I'm working from home full time; and also thankful I didn't have a conference call scheduled at the time. In short, it was a non-issue. I'd advise these folks to call customers to check to see if they're available before showing up. Perhaps they already do that, and for whatever reason with my project they just didn't. No big deal! I'd recommend this business and will probly be giving them a call back for work we need down this year. read more

Price - I had three trees and 10 huge bushes removed by Jim and he was much cheaper than my other three quotes - hired him on the spot. Expertise - I had Jim come out to see if we could keep a tree, but his honesty and knowledge lead us to understand the tree couldn't be saved and needed to come down. He also recommended new trees to be planted and worked with me and my wife to understand the pros and cons. Service - Jim and his team showed up and within two hours had everything removed. We moved into our new house in April and the yard was so overgrown. We cut down a lot of trees ourselves and piled them in the backyard. We wanted to get someone out to remove them. We talked to our neighbor and he recommended Birchwood. I called and Jim the owner came out for a quote quickly. He quote was so cheap, I couldn't believe it so we immediately agreed to have him do the work. We got a package deal where they would remove all trees we needed and cut down any we needed and grind stumps. They came out promptly at 7 am like they had said with a team of at least 10-15 men. They had the massive tree in our front yard down in minutes. Man how efficient. They stayed for about 3 hours and had our yard cleared quickly. The grinded down a bunch of stumps so were left with some holes to fill but that was easy. Great company, would use them again when needed! read more

Rep came two days later than promised. Looked at my Blue spruce and said " I can cut the top off the tree" $200. No reason why it's dying or that there is sap that looks like milk running down the 31 year old trunk. I've already had two other companies out ( they came when promised) and both gave me the exact same diagnosis with options. I contacted several tree services, and Birchwood was the only company that responded immediately. They came out in the next few days, gave me a quote, and then followed up 2 days later. The other tree companies, never contacted me, and some of them just showed up at my house and left a quote. Which is fine, except I mentioned in all my messages that I wanted more than just the two trees taken down. Birchwood took the time to find out exactly what I wanted/needed done. They were also responsive, which was very hard for me to find. So I decided to go with Birchwood because the price was reasonable and they had great customer service. Fast forward, 1 week. They came out when they said they would, they were fast and efficient. They cleaned up everything. And! They even put up with my neighbor came over and was directing them to cut down more stuff. (Ha!) anyway, they did a fantastic job, and it's almost unbelievable how much they did in such a short amount of time for such a reasonable price.
