Tacos & more! Once you find on street parking, you walk along the sidewalk to their outside seating area or if you'd rather inside. The outside has gardens, dial lights hanging from the ceiling, making it a very comfortable atmosphere. The tacos are delicious and delivered fresh to the table. You can select one kind of taco or you can select one of as many as you'd like. I chose to get the fish taco, which was very good, but my favorite was the pork belly. It was delicious the flavors the amount of meat inside was just right! If you happen to find yourself in Portland Maine make sure to stop here and don't forget to order the churros!! we liked him so much. We ordered some to go.

This place was fantastic. They have the cutest outdoor patio with seats in the sun or shade per preferences. There is also indoor seating, however, it's a tad cramped inside, so outside is the way to go if possible. The server was friendly and complimented my taco selections. My husband and I each ordered three tacos, and we each loved two out of our theee tacos. The bahn mi taco and pork taco were outstanding.

My fiancé and I stopped here on a Saturday evening and ate at the bar. I loved how their margaritas were made fresh and not on tap. The blood orange was one of the best flavored margaritas I've ever had! We got chips and guacamole ($11), and our waitress/bartender said we could add queso dip for another few dollars. We did that and ended up not getting charged for the queso. We also got free extra chips to take home with the leftover guacamole. We each ordered 2 tacos on corn tortillas, and they were all very good. Flavor profile was 4/5, portion size was better than expected. I think these tacos were worth the $4.50-$6.00 cost per taco. It is a cute cantina vibe on the inside with outdoor tables. It feels like you're underground, and it's not too loud. I recommend this spot!

We were seeking a brunch/lunch & haven't been here for a while so decided to stop in. Sat at the bar - because it is part of the fun! Wayne ordered a margarita & I opted for a mimosa. Chips & guacamole were outstanding & the tacos!!! We had four total of the brunch tacos so we could have a taste of all. Our server was great & the place is comfy and casual.

Bird & Co is the best Mexican spot in Portland. I'm not saying it's the most authentic, I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm not saying their cocktail program is going to change your life, but... 1. They take reservations (including for brunch on the weekends) and it's super easy to do online. How many places in this city are doing this? The answer is: still not many. 2. Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegan and vegetarian. No guessing here, and the staff has always been quick to double-check with the kitchen if there are any questions or concerns. Segue... 3. The chips and guacamole for currently $10 are the same quantity of (and I mean this lovingly) overly salted, house fried - sometimes too fried - chips and a tiny scoop of good guac as most places in town that are CHARGING YOU MORE. Segue... 4. There are places in town now charging $8 to $10 for ONE TACO. And they're sometimes quite small. The tacos here average between $4.75 and $6.50 for creative, flavorful, interesting, filling options (also you can get them on either flour or corn, no upcharge). The menu changes from time to time, and I wish they'd bring back the fried yuca taco, but the solid vegan solid options right now are Adobo Sweet Potato, Fried Plantain, and Crispy Tofu. Segue... 5. The taquitos, brussel sprouts, and cheesecake are all vegan. Segue... 6. The brunch (10am to 2pm, Saturday and Sundays) options for vegans are probably the most impressive in town: tofu or chorizo or fresh avocado tacos, huevos rancheros, churro french toast, avocado toast, chimichangas. 7. The Mexican cold brew might change your life (... or at least make you really happy when you're playing hooky from work and having an 11am drink). Switch the tequila for house whisky, skip the vespertino, ask for a side of oat milk... no changes to the price when doing this, by the way, because they're THAT kind of place that isn't trying to punish you constantly with extra fees. 8. The staff is so accommodating, they're thoughtful, they check-in just the right amount. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here, but overall... sit at the bar, make a friend, and just ask/just talk to them if you're missing something/need something etc. 9. The atmosphere here is Portland right before it became too cool (IYKYK). It's casual and relaxed, it can be intimate and loud when it's busy, it feels quite trendy yet still approachable when they've got their newly updated outside area set-up. 10. It's off peninsula which also changes the demographic and vibe entiiiiiiiiiirely. For the good. 6/5 no notes.

We met with friends and ate outside today. We had reservations and was given the option to eat outside so we took it. Drinks were excellent. Tequila galore The food. Wow, great options for vegans and it's marked on the menu.y favorite was the Bahn Mi taco. These are huge and very flavorful. Choice of flour or corn taco shells. Four stars just due to a slow waitress. Looks like they were short staffed so not going to give them too much grief! Try them!

Bird and Co is a good option. The flavors are inventive and delicious. We've been a number of times and I think that the size of the restaurant inside (the bar takes up too much of the restaurant floor) and the service, that seems to be inconsistent, can be frustrating. I have been to events in which Bird & Co catered and I have to give them high remarks on their catering!

Got the chips and guac - love the chips but the guac was kind of lacking in flavor (reminded me of the guac you can get in the produce section of hannaford) . Got the bahn mi taco which I loved, the flavor was very unique. The fish taco was simple and could have had more pizzazz. Love the blackberry marg, and the churros with the egg custard and dulce de leche were spectacular. My parents love this place but I'm not convinced the tacos are worth $6 although they are quite large.

As a native Californian, I was skeptical of Maine tacos. Service was good pace for lunch time on a Friday. The tacos were stuffed-like mini burritos (in all the right ways)! I had the Al Pastor and fish taco. Lost a star only because my fish taco was cold, but the crunch was still there. This was better than some of the taquerias in my home town! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The interior was tight, so if you're a group of 3+ watch the weather.

We came for an early dinner on a Friday night and sat outside. Reservations advised! Our service was a mixed experience and overall not the most warm and welcoming. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the number of options for me on the menu. I tried all three of the vegetarian tacos--the cauliflower was probably my least favorite. All were flavorful, fresh and inventive though. Would consider a repeat trip!

A quaint and cozy environmental with an amazing vibe. Super chill and casual as a whole. The decor was fresh, light, and stunning. The menu was initiative and offered a variety of Mexican fusion foods. I ordered a mix of tacos. The Tijuana, the fried polo diablo, the banh mi, and the California. All were delicious, made with fresh fresh ingredients, and extremely flavorful. The service was expeditious. The waitress was kind, willing to explain, and friendly. We will definitely be back! 10/10!!

Ever since I regularly started to visit Portland a few years back, multiple friends who had also…read morevisited the city had recommended Taco Escobarr. I had never taken them up on their recommendation in the past, though, as I don't find Mexican food in the Northeast to be anything special - and I'm not really in the mood for it when in Maine. However, I was looking to try some new (to me) spots this past trip, and was in the mood for Mexican, so I decided to check it out for dinner. Escobarr is located on Congress Street - I had always been told this is a super popular spot however when I arrived on a Wednesday evening it was only half full so I easily snatched a seat at the bar. The interior is fun - the vibes are relaxed and the decor is just enough to let you know you're in a Mexican restaurant without being too over the top. The aesthetic highlights for me was the large string of pepper lights hanging from the ceiling, and the bangin' millennial playlist they were playing. I decided to start with a margarita, because Mexican restaurant. They have a variety of flavors but I went simple with their signature one. It was pretty good, nothing too noteworthy but a solid marg nonetheless. As suggested by the name, the star of the menu is tacos - they have a good variety of fillings, and can be purchased a la carte or in combination with sides. They also have a few non-taco offerings, though less than a standard Mexican restaurant - this is mainly a taco joint. I decided on three tacos - chicken, chorizo, and al pastor, and ordered a side of beans. Food came out super fast, and overall my meal was fine. These weren't the best tacos I've had, but they did hit the spot and the filling was generous. The side of beans was fine as well - they were beans. Note that chips and salsa are not obligatory here, kinda odd but maybe that's just their thing. After another round and some nice conversation with some other patrons and the staff, I made my way. Service was great - the staff were super fun and engaging with each other and the customers. That, along with the fun vibes are the reasons I feel one would come to Taco Escobarr. The food is just fine, but the overall experience was good. Would I return for the vibes alone? Perhaps, but I'm not running back.

I have heard great things and was really hoping they had pupusas available on the truck... but no such luck. Only tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. That's ok because the very kind gentleman on the truck made the 3 Amigos sound really good! It's one pork, one beef, and one chicken taco on homemade tortillas with the standard fixings - onion, cilantro, guac, and salsa. I will say that the homemade tortillas are very good, though different than most I've had. They are soft to the point of almost being creamy? Very very rich, reminded me of the base of a sope. The meats were absolutely delicious and grilled and full of flavor. I loved both the pork and the beef, though the fattiness could've used an extra lime or two. I took one bite of the chicken taco and got a couple little bones, so I didn't eat the rest of that one. The sauces were good, though I was told one of the sauces was VERY VERY hot and I didn't detect a lot of spiciness from it. I think overall, I could've used double garnish, double lime, and a lot of extra heat. There are no prices on the board so I was thinking three tacos would come to like $10 - $12. Turns out they are $20 before tax, holy moley. I admit that my expectations were high before I even took a bite, because that price point is a little crazy. I am super curious about the brick and mortar because I'm sure it's a different experience with the food truck. These tacos were definitely tasty enough to do some more research!
