    Chicken burrito
    Noah F.

Got take out from the other day after hearing about and wanting to try this place for a while. Order was prepared quick within 20 minutes. Everyone inside is super friendly. There are some very inviting people in there with one of them even giving me his business card for car detailing which I thought was funny. I got a chicken burrito and the pupusa de queso as well. The burrito was massive and full of flavor. I kept all the add ins that came with it inside of it and for the price it was well worth it. The pupusas weren't exactly what I was looking for. There wasn't much flavor going on within them but it was my first time having these so now I know they just aren't for me. Overall if you're looking to come here I would highly recommend it. For the price of everything it is well worth it and I believe you will leave satisfied and full.

This is a restaurant with an unassuming interior and friendly staff. You order at the counter and can see your food being made behind it immediately after ordering, so you know it's fresh! My family came in on a Saturday at dinner time - it was empty which definitely shows it's a hidden gem! Unfortunately, a lot of the items we wanted were sold out for the day, like the empanadas, sweet plantains, and pork & cheese pupusas. We heard the empanadas were unparalleled, so visit early if you want them. However, the items we did order were great, and my favorite were the Tostones: 1. Beans/Cheese Pupusas: This was our first time trying Pupusas. They were very good, very cheesy and filling; you can't go wrong with cornmeal, refried beans, and a ton of cheese! 2. Tostones: These were the biggest Tostones I've ever eaten - they were large and crispy!! They were a bit oily, but came out piping hot and fresh. 3. Steak Burrito: The Burrito was a little flimsy and messy to eat, but was chock full of meat and filling, and the steak was super tasty and my whole family enjoyed it. 4. Chicken Mofongo: I'd say this was my second favorite dish! It was a bit salty, but sprinkle lime juice throughout, and it'll cut through the saltiness. The plantains were crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the chicken was delicious - tender and cooked very well. Also, definitely try their homemade hot sauce if you like a good kick! It's very hot :)

Came because it was voted highly for best burrito on a local radio station. While the food is made by sweet ladies you can entertain yourself with many tv's playing all sorts of shows Ordered Beef burrito: the burrito was mostly rice and left something to be desired Mufongo: unique similar to eating mashed sweet potatoes with dry pernil, would recommend getting more sauce/lime/salsa to add rich complexity to dish

I had taken a rare day off today and went out for lunch. This place always seems to be closed when I have time off so I tried it today. I was not very impressed, unfortunately. I ordered a shrimp burrito. The shrimp was tasty and the burrito was loaded with great flavors and ingredients, but it wasn't well wrapped and fell apart easily. The hot sauce offered was very good, and hit a good balance between sweet/fruity and spicy (this is in addition to the array of hot sauces on each table). However, I felt the prices were too high and the menu fairly brief. The service, while kind, was disorganized. I was charged after my meal, and only upon approaching the counter again, whereas other patrons were rung up as they ordered. Some people ordered at the counter, others were given a menu and ordered from their table. Upon entering, I was asked if I'd ever been to the restaurant and given a rundown of the menu, and like the thought behind that is nice, but I can read for myself, thanks. When I asked for napkins, I was only given a single paper napkin. Finally, despite the friendly attitude of the staff, I was misgendered (called a 'muchacho'). And like, I get it, but I don't have to like it.

The mofongo was really good. My mom ordered the shrimp one and she enjoyed it as well. We've been into different places and non of them tasted this good. Highly recommended!!!

I'm Puerto Rican, do my own cooking and fortunate enough to do a lot of traveling around the country. I'm always looking for Hispanic restaurants and Lots of places advertise "Puerto Rican" food and fall way short. So when I came across this place with a mix of Puerto Rican, Mexican and El Salvadoran, needless to say I was very skeptical... Let me tell you, I was genuinely shocked and surprised as to 1. The variety of the menu and 2. More importantly the quality of the food!! Entered the store, was immediately greeted and recited what's on the menu and the days special. The gentleman had good knowledge of the different cultural foods. He wasn't sure if I was Mexican or Puerto Rican so he went ahead and recited the menu in the different terms just in case. Think habichuelas vs. frijoles...lol! I knew more or less what I already wanted so I ordered some Arroz Blanco con Habichuelas y Pernil to go. The food was well packed and stayed warm. No spillage in the bag thank god. The serving size was extremely well especially for the cost. I received more than enough food for myself and let me tell you, I can eat!! Especially when it comes to rice and beans. Now for the best part, the food was ON POINT!! Tasted fresh and authentic. Rice was fluffy, not sticky or hard. Beans has a nice consistency. Not mushy or anything. Very delicious. The pernil was juicy, right amount of flavor not too fatty or anything. They even added a little twist and served it with a little pick de Gallo. They also gave me a side of some home made hot sauce. Was sooo good. They make a lot of homemade sauces there. Also, while I was there they gave me a free taco to sample. I've spent a lot of time down in south TX and Cali. I've had my share of different styles of taco's. The one they served me was by far one of the best I've ever had. If you don't want a big dish, at the very least order a taco! You won't be disappointed!! Food was so good that I'm going back there here in a couple of hours! My compliments to the chef's!!

Everyone is so welcoming. The pupusas are authentic and so delicious! Clean place too. It was so nice to find this spot coming from Texas. Will come back to try the other food but really enjoyed this place.

Being from California, I'm a pretty strict critic on good Mexican food. Me and the family took a chance on this place and...wow. the ingredients are fresh and the burritos remind me of being in SoCal hanging out at a taqueria between surf sessions. I don't know how this food got here to Maine, but thank the Lord it is. I'm super grateful for the excellent meal I had and the warm hospitality of the staff. we got chicken tacos, chicken burrito, kids chicken tenders (which were so unexpectedly tasty!) and chips and salsa. Everything was 10/10

I was walking around in the rain trying to find a place to have breakfast, but every place I found had no indoor seating. I stumbled across this restaurant and it looked like I could sit there, so I entered and asked if there was any breakfast available. The man behind the counter said yes and said he could make me some huevos rancheros. It sounded like the perfect breakfast for a cold drizzly day in Portland. It was ready in a few minutes served with hot corn tortillas and plenty of hot sauces around. Service is fast and friendly, and it's cheap. Highly recommended.

    Pork belly taco
    Markie A.

Wow wow wow! I think I have found my new spot! The carne asada burrito was full of flavor, steak cooked perfectly, just awesome all around. But these pork belly tacos don't fuck around. I've never had pork belly before, and just WOW I can't wait to go back and get it again. Simple traditional street taco, with red onion and cilantro, it doesn't get better than that baby. Most importantly locally owned by great people who deserve your support! Check it out

Huevos rancheros with black beans and homemade guacamole salsa on the side. Perfect.

This weekend I took my best friend and it was perfect, even in the middle of winter. The deck is still open with plenty of space heaters and even heated seat cushions. We actually got so warm we had to peel off layers, which feels like a small miracle in Maine. The two of us love a marg & taco outing, and make a point to scope out the best of the best. We started with chips and salsa and some queso, which were the perfect kickoff. Then we ordered the street corn succotash, my absolute favorite. It's packed with flavor and topped with the most delicious, salty cotija cheese that pulls everything together. I crave that dish. We split the smoked brisket tacos and the smoked pork carnitas tacos, and both were outstanding. The meat was smoky and tender, the flavors were bold without being overdone, and every bite delivered. And the margaritas? Excellent and refreshing. Exactly what you want alongside that food. On top of all that, the staff is consistently wonderful. Every single time we've gone, our waitstaff has been charming, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. They strike that perfect balance of checking in without hovering, and they make you feel welcome from start to finish. Terlingua never disappoints. Great atmosphere, incredible food, thoughtful touches that keep you cozy even in winter, and a team that clearly cares about the experience.

That being Chip, Guacamole, and Salsa. I will say I was a bag fan of the Guacamole. I was very was seasoned and very fresh. So for the mains them Family Style comes with Smoked Prime Brisket, Pork Shoulder (Pulled Pork), and the Rotating Daily BBQ which for us I believe were Burnt Ends which are one of my favorites. For the side we had Mac & Cheese Cornbread w/ Honey Butter, House BBQ Sauce & Spicy Vinegar with Pickles and Salad. To start with the sides that Mac & Cheese was really good but the winner was for the the Cornbread with the Honey Buter. The 2 just paired together so well. For the mains my favorites were the Smoked Prime Brisket and the Burnt Ends. The Brisket was good., probably not in my top 3 all time but for sure a must try. The Burnt Ends were also very good. You can't always get Burnt Ends but when you can it's for sure a must. We really enjoyed Terlingua and can't thank the staff enough for working with us for this event. For sure a must stop in Portland when you have a big party. Just plan ahead because they are so helpful to work with.

Very well seasoned filet with crispy and fluffy soft potatoes with rice and really good pickles pink onions. I added quac and cheese onto it after mixing things together and when I ordered an extra side of steak they really hooked me up. So delicious. My dad ordered the patacon which has a very large and perfectly friend piece of savory plantain and topped with chicken and added steak with quac, lettuce, tomato, and a side of rice and black beans. For starters we ordered the yuca which was perfectly fried and crispy with a really good garlic aioli and cheese blanket over top. We also ordered the sweet madudo(sweet plantain) which came with cheese and was perfectly sweet and tender. So delicious. The side of tostones(savory plantain) was again perfectly friend and salted and with that garlic aioli dip and quac with pico de gallo it was fantastic. The empanadas came with all types of flavors. The beef was my favorite and had an amazing juicy, salty, and tangy flavor with the crispy casing. I'll say to skip the chicken, it was bland and had no flavor. My mom ordered the dessert empanada with cheese and a fruit inside and she said it was delicious and I'll say I can second that. The smoothies were delicious and had plenty of options to choose from. My mom ordered a Columbian milk coffee and said it was one of the greater ones she's tried, possible the best.
