Everyone here is clearly dedicated to their customers and the animals they sell and care for. They…read morelove what they do, it's obvious, which keeps us coming back regularly. Never, ever been less than happy just being around them and when we leave with a 'haul.' We come at least once a week, stock is always replenished with new varieties we love checking out, and taking home new friends with us every trip. Wet Pets is the ONLY place I trust as an experienced aquarist to have the healthiest stock, cleanest tanks and best choices to pick from. Gordon, Mandy and Amy are very knowledgeable in freshwater and marine and exhibit their skills in the displays they keep and care for. Questions? Just ask. These guys are attentive, customer oriented and can be depended on to follow up with you..really personalized and caring. Never any pressure to buy but always offering advice when asked, recommendations freely given which I appreciate and have never been steered wrong. Always available with customer service, smiles and concerns that you are happy ..if any issues arise they are glad to fix them on the spot. We just don't go anywhere else - found warm friends here and a 'home store' for our aquarium needs plus it's our "fishing trip" each week . A fifty year business that reflects that in how they treat folks. On a scale of five stars, I award ten!

I had a very difficult experience with Metro Animal Shelter that I feel others should be aware of…read more We adopted a puppy who was about 2 1/2 months old. During the first week, she seemed healthy, energetic, and full of life. We took her to the vet right away for a full exam and began standard preventative care, followed by a second visit for age-appropriate vaccinations. About a week later, she began showing signs of worms. We followed veterinary guidance and gave her the recommended medication. Shortly after, her condition changed significantly; she became lethargic, stopped eating, and began vomiting. At first, we believed this was a reaction to the medication, but her condition worsened quickly. Within days, we had to take her to an emergency vet, where we were told she had advanced Parvo. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down. She was only with us for about 15 days. Beyond this experience, I was also very concerned with the overall conditions at the shelter. The smell of feces upon entering was overwhelming, and many animals appeared to be in unsanitary conditions, lying in urine or feces. I have also made repeated attempts to contact the Executive Director, Jennifer, over the course of four days, calling on multiple occasions and leaving voicemails. I was informed that my messages were received and that my repeated attempts were known, yet I have not received a response. This lack of communication is unprofessional and concerning. This was not just a disappointing experience; it was devastating. Adopting a pet should be a joyful and hopeful process, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. I would strongly encourage anyone considering adoption to ask detailed questions about health screenings, vaccinations, and overall care conditions before making a decision.

When I picked up the animal, it was already visibly sick. I returned the cat to the shelter for medical treatment, but it received no care and later died. During my visits, I also observed other cats and animals that were visibly ill, without adequate food, water, or proper care. The conditions inside the shelter raise great concerns for the welfare of the animals being housed there.
