This place is so good!!! If you are craving Nashville hot chicken, this is the place to go! I highly recommend their loaded chicken fries! You cannot find that sauce anywhere. If you are in the Boston area, give this place a try!

First, there was Dave's... a spectacular [hot] fried chicken shop. Then, I heard of Birdies through social media. The concepts are extremely similar, down to the menu structure and heat scale. I'm all for supporting small businesses, eating fried chicken, and writing reviews. After a week, the craving became unignorable, and I made the not too long Trek to give Birdies a go. Dave's left big shoes to fill, and as much as I was rooting for our bespectacled, anthropomorphic chicken friend, he left me disappointed. I ordered a Combo #3, with the tender as 'medium', and the sandwich as 'hot'. The fries were cooked very nicely, and they felt crisp and fresh. They were also lightly but nicely seasoned where I did not feel I was though I was crunching on salt, neither did I feel the need to add any. The sandwich was well assembled, stayed together, and the ingredients seemed to be in balance. Alas, it was the chicken that caused things to metaphorically fall apart. With the chicken, first things first: the portions are very respectable! Bearing in mind that the slider is essentially a tender in sandwich form, I feel as though they gave a tender-and-a-half for each! In terms of flavor is where it starts to struggle. I will give them points for effort, as the seasoning blend did have a whisper of piquancy, but it was too distant. Unlike Dave's, which brings buckets of *both* flavor and heat, Birdies brought a bucket of heat and a kids' beach pail of flavor. Credit where credit is due - the "hot" did have a teeny drizzle of honey that did wonders in helping elevate and bring out the spices that were there. However, other than slightly more heat, and sweetness from the honey, both the medium and hot were not well differentiated. Next, I found the chicken wasn't crisp. This could be because they are going for something spiced and fried, and not breaded. I'm not sure if that's their schtick, or if the kitchen had a big whoopsie-doodle. I will award benefit of the doubt on this one. Where I cannot be as forgiving is that I felt it was a little overcooked. The pieces of chicken were not tender and were lacking in moisture. I do want to award points for the wonderful sauce. Slightly tangy, very savory, and very flavorful. This is the one area where Birdies is neck and neck with Dave's, and dare I say maybe a little ahead. The service is prompt and friendly, and the location is clean, though a little plain and arguably gloomy. Other than a neon sign and a graffiti-style logo, the dominant colors are grey, black, and brown. A touch up of paint where the tables meet the walls would also help. There were two arcade games, but I did not partake. Thus, while I see what they're going for, the execution didn't work for me. The vibe isn't that important, and I can interpret the lack of breading as an intentional decision. However, the muted flavors (except heat), and lack of succulence does not inspire a return visit, especially when a competitor knocks in out of the park.

If my 2 sliders with fries mild spice is my last meal on this Earth, I would die a happy man. What an outstanding meal. Brockton is the original location that opened a few years ago. Back when I was in college I used to go multiple times a week so any time I'm back in the area I need to stop in. The Nashville style fried chicken is better than I've had in Nashville. I highly recommend to anyone who likes fried chicken and can take a little spice.

Top tier food place. I usually don't go to random food spots, especially in brockton since last time i got food poisoning... but birdies is a complete exception. they have amazing workers, and the cashiers are always so nice and friendly. their tenders are also most definitely spicy. if your in love with spicy food, come here. this is lowkey my mini hot ones (if any of you know the show). I will say, sometimes their tenders are a bit overcooked, that's where my 4 stars comes in. But it happens rarely. Their fries also tastes very nice with the seasoning they add. also it's way faster than dave's so, take your pick, mine is birdies fr fr

Pretty damn good! Their signature sauce was excellent. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

TLDR: HOT CHICKEN Love this place. Chicken is crispy on the outside and oh so tender and juicy on the inside. The inside has got a chill vibe and staff are nice. I took the medium heat which was just the right amount of kick for me without being painful. The sweet tea is an excellent accompaniment and it's not too sweet. Also wonderful we're the pickles which had a sweet taste to the brine.

Easy to get to in a small, but busy, plaza right off Route 24; Birdies goes for a hip aesthetic that caters to the aspiring Instagrammer. Inside, most of the surfaces and furniture are peppered with designer streetwear stickers; swaggy art, neon signs depicting angel wings and silly quotes make this a fun spot to grab a bite. After posing for photos in this little eatery, you'll find that the food offerings are just as photogenic as you are. While Birdies doesn't have much more than Nashville fried chicken on their menu, they do offer their combinations of chicken sandwiches, tenders, and wings across a range of spice levels that you can specify per item. The chicken was of good quality and the skin and fries were satisfyingly crunchy. Spicy daredevils rejoice! The Grim Reaper level of spiciness is the real deal (They will question your sanity and ask you to sign a weaver)! This firey option will have you swimming in sweat and your insides boiling until nature's sweet release ends your suffering. What an experience :D

The service was excellent and food came out after 5 mins. Awesome place for a good bite.

Fantastic new addition to the Brockton dining area. Normally for fried chicken of this quality - you'd need to go deep in Boston for so it's amazing that Birdies Hot Chicken moved in. You get to choose a spice level when you order (I went with extra hot which was a good amount of spice) and went with the tender combos that also comes with fries. The chicken was tender and flavorful but combining that with the birdie sauce and honey (which you get with each order) and it makes the perfect. Highly recommend stopping by.

Decided to stop by Birdies Hot chicken for lunch. This restaurant is very spacious. We ordered combo #4 ($14.99), combo #7 ($12.99) with two pink lemonades ($2.99 each) The server was very nice and we waited about 5 minutes for our food to come out. Overall our food was really good. And the music was great, definitely a vibe.

Stopped in just to give this place a try. We have a pet bloodhound named Birdie so I thought this was funny. Turns out the chicken came out quick, nice crunch for a tender and the heat didn't disappoint! I got the next to highest available and it still had a good flavor to go with the burn. Young person at register was very polite and friendly which seems rare to often nowadays.

The short version: they take pride in their product and it turns out well above the usual. Friendly family operation. -- Buffalo Wings: Not gargantuan, but good size. Good contrast between crisp skin and tender inner flesh. Decent juiciness on the drums and very good juiciness on the flats. Tasty sauce. -- Fries: When I learned they're not fresh hand-cut, the owner was kind enough to provide a small sample to try. A decent rendition for frozen.  -- Nashville Hot Wings: Tried on the second visit, as a combo with coleslaw and split with an eating buddy. A clinical presentation of technical wings perfection, with each piece crisp outside, tender and juicy inside, and generously coated but not overloaded with fresh, tasty wing sauce. A little grit to this one to deliver dry spices as well as liquid, and a noticeable amount of heat that complemented nicely. A joy to view and a joy to eat. -- Mango Habanero Hot Wings: Tried on the second visit, as a combo with onion rings and split with an eating buddy. More technical perfection and similar praise for the sauce, which balances sweet and heat nicely. Even nicer was a little garnish of mango on top. Like the Nashville Hot, these were superb. (And if you check my other reviews, you'll see that I don't go throwing around compliments and 5-star reviews to just anyone.) -- Onion Rings: A frozen product, but crisp, not greasy, and seasoned. Not seafood shack or roast beef joint quality, but good for what it was. -- Coleslaw: A larger-than-expected serving with an unexpected flavor. Crisp, creamy, but with a certain something or somethings that begged for more forkfuls. Seeds (I think caraway) and fruit (cranberries and apples) added oomph and a floral component. If I didn't have plans after, I'd have bought more to take home. Friendly, hands-on owner who puts his heart and soul into the food, from the presentation (including a stainless steel bone dish and plastic gloves) to the pinpoint technical excellence of the wings (nailed the crisp, the juiciness, the right amount of sauce) to the creativity (the mango garnish; apples and cranberries in the coleslaw). Even without table service, comfy booths, and beer, an easy 5.
