After explaining the situation about recently having the spark plugs and ignition coils changed I was told the issue was cylinder number 8(the "hard" one to get to) and that the shop needed to pull the cylinder head off and send it off to get machined and redo the spark plugs. $2500 out the door. So anyways. I called another mechanic and explained everything over the phone to see if the misfiring issue warrants pulling the head off and sending it off to a machine shop, long story short he said get it over to him for a second opinion which is exactly what I did. I'm out a whopping $250.. and the problem wasn't even number 8 as stated. The #2 spark plug wasn't seated correctly. Look. I know I'm dumber than the average bear, but why exactly did I even pay y'all a $120 "diagnostic" fee when you didn't even properly diagnose my vehicle and then tried to rip me off another $2500 on top of that?! Yall should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves.. but am I ever going to see that $120 I paid yall again, nope. I'm sure yall will eat well though. However, this second experience didn't quite live up to the first. I had left my car the night before to ensure they could begin work promptly the next day. When I called to check in the following afternoon, I was informed they were still working on my estimate and that it would be ready in about 30 minutes... It ended up taking slightly over an hour to receive the estimate. After going over the estimate, I was surprised by the cost, so I carefully went through it with someone more knowledgeable about cars than I am. As it turns out , they had added a little over $1400 worth of suggested maintenance and did not notate this on the estimate or inform me when I spoke to them. Had I not had someone to review this with me I would have thought all of this work was required to fix the leak. When I called Perks back and began to ask questions and go line by line of "suggested work" it was then made clear to me what they had done. I still agreed to let them do the work and was told they would call me back in 30 minutes to let me know how long it would take to get the parts and return my car. After 2 hours I had to reached out to them again to find out when I could have my car fixed and returned. Thankfully, it was only going to take another day. All that being said, Perks does good work and they are very friendly. Yes, I will use them again but going in I will be more cautious and let them know up front my expectations.

This was the worst service experience I've ever had, and I strongly caution anyone against using…read morethem. It started well enough. Eddie did his best to take care of us throughout the entire experience. They called us to pick up our car and they didn't even repair one of two items that they said they would. They still charged us the quoted amount, which was supposed to include two repairs. Upon driving away, three major error indicators were going off on our dashboard (these were not there prior to the repair). After calling to inquire about it, they told us to bring it back and they'd take a look. The manager, Mike, was extremely rude and condescending. He said they'd review the work they did and "see if it was Caliber's fault." He refused to look at the diagnostic paperwork we got when having it looked over at Toyota. Surprise, surprise. Caliber determined that "everything was put back together correctly." Still major errors within the car's electronic components. We were given the email address of the district manager or some other higher-up (no follow-up phone number), Jeff, who never responded. Ultimately, we went to Toyota and had to pay $1300 for the damage Caliber did to our car, after paying THEM $750 to fix our one issue (and ignore the other thing we wanted fixed). Our car was at their facility for many days, and we had to go back and forth several times. I've never had a worse customer service experience (except for Eddie, who did everything he could despite his team) or felt so desperate that someone damaged my VEHICLE and would make no effort to fix it. Also note that Caliber is NOT BBB-accredited. I've heard they're good with body work, but steer clear if your repair requires ANYTHING electronic.

Went to Jerry's as it was the closest auto repair near my home. All I needed was a simple 10mm bolt…read moreinstalled through a bracket to hold my speedometer cable in place on the transmission. I could almost get it done, on the ground under the car, but didn't have enough room. So all I needed was the car put on a lift, and using a 1/4" ratchet and a 10 mm socket with a 12" extension, put the bolt in the hole and tighten it up. Jerry's refused to do it because they "don't work on old cars" like mine. Regardless of the age of the vehicle, it was a SIMPLE request that a 10 year old could have done - if he had a lift! I took it to another shop, in Mansfield, and they had it completed in less than 10 minutes - and that includes driving the car onto the lift, installing the bolt, and backing the car down. NOT brains surgery. If they can't do a simple job like this, why would I EVER trust them to do anything that IS complicated? ONE star - do NOT recommend! UPDATE: Just found out from a friend that they replaced the heater core on his 1973 pickup, but could not put a simple bolt to hold my speedometer cable to my transmission in my 1980 Triumph!
