My family and I lived in a beautiful rental they managed for over 2 years. They were not only amazing to work with from the time we inquired about the property, until the time we left, but they treated us like valued customers and not just tenants the entire time we were managed by them. Any maintenance issues that arose, they were super quick to respond to, and did so to our satisfaction (and if I was the homeowner, I'd be happy they were as thorough in their repairs so that the integrity of he house was maintained). Birdsong has beautiful homes and make sure they are in great condition prior to move in. Couldn't recommend them enough. read more

Amazing House at 657 Lytton Station Rd, GEYSERVILLE, BUT Very Disappointing Property Management team/owners. The Lytton House itself was amazing. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately, our experience with the property management team was extremely frustrating. Our stay was July 6-13, and I first followed up about the refundable deposit on July 17, because there was not response to my text form 7/14 about the rodent we saw in the house. I followed up again on July 29, told her about the rodent and asked whether the check had been mailed and when I could expect it. I also called the management team twice in an effort to get an update and resolve the issue since my email and text were unanswered. Despite these repeated emails and phone calls, more than 30 days have passed without receiving the refund. I was told the refund check had been sent and would be tracked, but it never arrived. I continued having to contact the management team for updates. On August 13, I again contacted them because the refund was still outstanding and explained that this had become very frustrating. I was given another assurance that the issue would be resolved. On August 14, I was still having to follow up and request proof that the promised credit to my credit card had actually been processed. I still do not have my $995.00 refund. What should have been a simple and routine refund became a prolonged and frustrating process that required far too much time and effort on my part. The biggest issue wasn't simply the delay -- it was the lack of follow-through and the fact that I repeatedly had to ask for updates and confirmation. It's unfortunate because the Lytton House itself is fantastic. However, the property management experience significantly detracted from what otherwise could have been an excellent experience. I hope Birdsong improves its refund process and communication with guests. i hope I get my REFUND!!!! Guests should not have to send multiple emails, make multiple phone calls, and continue chasing the management company for a refund that has already been promised. read more

We booked a beautiful VRBO with BirdSong Property Management last month. This house was absolutely perfect for our corporate retreat! The booking, checking in, checking out, closing process was all incredibly easy. The team was very friendly and easy to work with at Birdsong. Shante was incredibly communicative about all aspects of our stay. The house... absolutely gorgeous. Everything you could want in a beautiful getaway. Pool, spas, firepit, games... the beds were ridiculously comfy, the kitchen well stocked with equipment- I never wanted to leave! I will be recommending this location to anyone who is looking for the perfect wine country getaway! read more

We have stayed at Casa Chiquita at multiple occasion had a pleasant experience in the past but this last stay has been a fiasco of biblical proportion. First the day before our arrival we found out that construction and expansion in the pool area was going to take place which involves extensive wood cutting , drilling and hammering so a lot of noise and workers in full view) without for us to be aware or notify so. After speaking with Shantee that day she reached out to the owners to let them know that this was not acceptable and that the work could not fo on wheels we were here . Further more this house is rented with pool and spa access and use which was not possible with all the lumber and equipment stored so we were not able to have full use of the property. The main sliding door lock is broken and either the property management is as not aware or simply was not honest about it since a bar is as placed in the glide to attempt to keep the door closed and secure, however the bar was too short and anyone could slide the door 1 to 2 inches , lift it into the top glide and remove it to enter the house, or with a screw driver or a metal bar pry it open, therefore leaving the property unsecured and unsafe. When all of this was mentioned we got a lot of excuses and run around and the answer kept coming up that this is very safe area.... A very irresponsible attempt to answer for the issue. Kitchen appliances have been non operable and this is not new. The worse part is how this was handled making us , the guests feel that we were in the wrong and exaggerating the situation. Safety and comfort to The guest should and must be a priority for the owners and management company. By the way although a proper length bar/ dowel was provided 3 days later after much insistance, since the door does not have a working latch into the wall it can still be lifter vertically to open. This was a terribly disappointing experience and will strongly suggest for the company to review how they relate to clients as there was a strong lack of honesty, sense of urgency and acceptance of the issues and fact as they were more interested in making excuses than solving them, only after we got very upset did they react. We Stayed 4 nights and issues were addressed on the 3 rd night but still The lock was never repaired. read more

I rented a charming cottage managed by Birdsong on a large property starting in January of 2017. I along with my then partner signed a contract and we each gave a deposit. Rents were paid on time each and every month. On the night of October 8, 2017 everything changed. That was the night of the most devastating fire in the history of California. Not only was my landlord's property destroyed but so was the cottage. We lost everything in that fire - clothing, jewelry, tax records, receipts, etc. Unbeknownst to me Birdsong wrote one check for the deposit and prorated rent to my then partner. When I contacted Birdsong about my deposit and prorated rent they said the reason was that my partner told them that I owed him money. This is untrue but it's not for Birdsong to mediate a dispute between tenants. I paid a deposit and rent every month but to date haven't received anything back from them. It is Birdsong's responsibility to retrieve the overpayment. Their attitude is that I go to my ex partner for the $3406 owed. I made my demand to him but he refused to pay me. So Birdsong accepts no responsibility in this matter. They were duped, as was I, by my ex. Shame on them! read more

This property management company was fantastic to work with. They are very attentive. They made the check in process a delightful experience. They were detail oriented and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Birdsong Property Management to anyone looking for a professional operation. As the last of my four sons graduated from college, we were looking for a setting where we could celebrate as a family with enough room for a party with friends. The cottage at Magnolia & Vine was the perfect choice! We all got to enjoy each other's company in a tranquil and bucolic setting. As an interior designer, I especially appreciated this chic bungalow style. The well-maintained home, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, and the especially helpful management staff made this the perfect weekend getaway for our celebration. The setting is very close to downtown Healdsburg making it convenient to enjoy fabulous meals at many of the fine restaurants near the town square. For meals at home, the kitchen had everything one needs. The outdoor BBQ was conveniently located near the kitchen making outdoor meals delightful as the weather was superb. The pool and jacuzzi were appreciated by all our guests as was bocci ball. There is a lovely guest/pool house with its own kitchen offering privacy for additional guests. The property sits in the midst of vineyards...beautiful! We like to venture out and visit new places, but Magnolia & Vine is a sure thing. I can say for sure we'll be back! Thank you for helping our family make memories. This is the third house we have rented on the Russian River and by far the best! House is lovely (just as depicted in pictures)!. Owners were wonderful to deal with. Everything went smoothly. The house is well maintained with everything you could possibly ask for. Had a fantastic time on the river, in the river and sitting on the deck watching the river. There were three generations of us and everyone had a great time. My grandson cried when we left. I would highly recommend this to anyone! read more

We were extremely impressed by Mark Madsen of Birdsong Property Management. He is professional, knowledgeable, and he responded to our need very quickly. We were considering putting our house up for rent in order to buy another property without selling our current home. Time was of the essence to make everything work out. I called Birdsong late Monday afternoon and Mark got back to me Tuesday morning. He was very courteous and said he could look at our house at 1:00. He showed up on time and answered all of our questions in a professional way. After he left, he worked with two other colleagues for several hours to develop a realistic price range for renting our home. He called me before the end of Tuesday with the information we needed to make our decision. In the end, we did not go through with the purchase of the other home so we did not need to find renters for our current home. Mark worked us into his schedule immediately when we needed him and spent several hours on our behalf with no compensation. Nevertheless, he was very gracious when I told him that we didn't need his services. We would heartily recommend Birdsong Property Management to anyone who would like to have their property rented. read more

Here is the update on the nightmare we are enduring. We FINALLY got our deposit check back after multiple requests. They claimed that the check must have been lost. When I get it, it is short $2100.00. I have asked multiple times for an itemized list of the expenses to justify this reduction of deposit. Considering that we couldn't use the dishwasher and the breaker would go out each time we turned on the bathroom heater, I find it odd that we were paying over $1000 a month for utilities. I was supposed to pay for a cleaner who did not contact me until two weeks before we were supposed to leave. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We rented the Magnolia & Vine property for the week of 10/2 to 10/8. Property was perfect. We were met at the home by Paula who showed us around the beautiful home and grounds. The location was close to town and wineries. Birdsong sent a list of suggestions for restaurants, transportation services and wineries to us pre check in and all the suggestions were spot on. I was able to make reservations prior to our arrival which was key. Our driver from Healdsburg Tours was fantastic. Ask for Patty if you want transportation and reservations to the wineries. We flew home Saturday 10/8 to Philadelphia and our security deposit from Birdsong arrived on 10/11 in full. I see many negative reviews on Yelp about Birdsong and I couldn't disagree more. We hope to return to Magnolia & Vine again very soon. read more

I find myself having to pursue both criminal and civil action against this firm and its principals . I would highly recommend you refrain from engaging them for anything. My tenant has paid 2 months rent and we haven't seen any payments according (blamed on illness, then a paper check went out, etc). When I pressed with their unprofessional staffer, Shana, it became necessary to terminate my relationship. My tenant is trying to make contact with them to get her deposit refunded to no avail; despite confirmation that they no longer represent us. read more

My family rented the Chalk Hill Road Estate in June. The dishwasher was not operable. We notified Birdsong about the problem. They offered to have a housekeeper come out and wash dishes. We did take them up on the offer once, however it was not practical to think that someone could drive out every time we had dirty dishes to clean. (The house is about 14 miles outside Healdsburg.). With 9 people staying there that adds up to a lot of dishes. It is our understanding that the dishwasher has not been functional for quite some time. when we complained we were told that it broke during the previous renters stay. We should have been notified prior to our arrival. A working dishwasher is key to a stress free vacation. In addition, the water has a heavy concentration of hydrogen sulfide giving off a smell of rotten eggs. It permeates the residence and makes bathing unpleasant. If we had been told ahead of time of these conditions, we would not have considered renting this property. We followed the rental agreement explicitly. Birdsong was not as forthcoming. We requested a refund of the cleaning deposit as compensation, but they rejected this. The property is nice for a large group. If it hadn't been for the above mentioned problem, I would have given it a higher rating. The resolution of these issues is disappointing. read more

We have used this company twice now and have been really impressed with their level of professionalism, knowledge about the Healdsburg area and recommendation of wineries, as well as the personal touch. Also, the home we stayed in both times has been wonderful. The two of us travel for leisure extensively and usually spend one weekend per month in the wine country on average, so we have quite a bit of experience renting homes from VRBO, Airbnb and other companies similar to Healdsburg Vacation Homes. In all honesty, I was very surprised to see several poor reviews on here as both times using this company our experience has been nothing but stellar. They even provide you with their mobile number to text or call 24/7 if there should be any issue (we did not have any reason to call as there were no issues). Renter Beware. This Property Mgmt. co will use their industry knowledge and experience in order to cheat you out of your deposit. Of the 2500 they had they gave me about 450 back. Despite the fact that we left the property in better condition than when we moved in, much better. The place was a disaster when we moved in but we were in a hurry to move so we accepted it anyway. There was paint in all the tubs that the previous tenant had painted the walls a million different colors with so we had to clean pain off everything upon moving in. Not only that but the place was filthy, there was candle wax all over the floors the blinds had been chewed up by the previous owners cats, etc etc the list goes on. We spent the first 3 weeks there just cleaning and repainting. The landlord gave us a couple weeks free rent in order to deal with the condition of the place. Little did I know at the time they would just take that out of my deposit at the end. No money saved. In addition every single major appliance broke while we were there. The microwave didn't work when we moved in and all the other things dropped like flies along the way. Each time and appliance broke the landlords would go though a ridiculous process that made repairs take 1-2 months of each item. Smaller things that broke like the laundry room door for they would never fix. I would report it and they would just never get around to it. Other repairs were not completed like their was cat damage when we got there in the bathroom and they sent their repair person n who partially fixed it but never texturized or repainted. I reported my oven broke over Thanksgiving and they still did not have it fixed by Christmas, yet insisted they were doing their "best". I tried to give them every opportunity to redeem themselves and become responsible property managers before yelping cause honestly this is really not what I would like to do. However due to the absolutely egregious disregard for their tenants I feel it is my responsibility to warn others. At the end they acted like they needed everything to be absolutely perfect and took all this money for lack of texturizing on painted areas etc, it was like that when we got there and of course they tried to blame us for it. They are greedy, lazy, money hungry wolves. Birdsong property management should be call Wolf Pack Property Management. There are No Birds and No Songs only Wolves who use their knowledge to do the bare minimum and take as much from you as they can. If you are in one of their properties take photos of everything. They will try to blame you at the end for everything and anything wrong with the property. There is no good will or common decency on their end so treat them as suspect, make a file of everything that occurs during the entire tenancy because you WILL have to try to defend yourself at the end. read more

My husband and I just love Healdsburg and love to get friends to come with us there on vacation. We've rented a few houses from Birdsong Property Management. I have always found them to be reliable, honest, and easy to work with, whether it's at the last minute or months prior to a trip there. They must choose their houses carefully as they are consistently clean and well-maintained. We especially like Vinehaven and are disappointed when it's not available. With 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, it has gorgeous backyard gardens with a vineyard view (especially from the hot tub). It's not fancy but it's so clean, decorated nicely, and conveniently located. We look forward to returning to Healdsburg for many years and will ALWAYS use Birdsong! Thanks for the good times you have already given us! read more

I wish I was in a position to review this property after the experience of actually staying in it. However, due to a series of unfortunate events, I didn't even get close to that point. Upon researching several different properties in the Napa area for a weekend away with ten of my closest friends, I landed upon the 'Dream House' property. Despite being expensive, it was in the perfect location, it had a spectacular layout and facilities and, most importantly, it was advertised as available for a 2-night stay for a weekend in late June 2018. After going through the arduous process of collecting money from my friends, I reserved the property for a little under $4,500 for two nights. Several weeks later and well after the $4,500 had been deposited, I was informed that there was a computer 'glitch' and, contrary to what was advertised *and* contrary to what was outlined in the contract (that was signed by both parties), the management company of the property actually required a 3-night minimum. So after spending weeks finding what I thought was the right property for 2 nights and after paying the required minimum and signing a contract (which was countersigned) I was told that we wouldn't be able to stay at the property unless we committed to a third night. Not surprisingly, I fought it but my attempts were met with sheer disdain. I was offered the third night without any form of discount for the inconvenience caused, a full refund or a 2-night stay in one of two alternative properties - neither of which were even close to being comparable to the 'Dream House'. Needless to say, I was incredibly inconvenienced by the entire experience and upset by the incredible rudeness demonstrated by the management company throughout the process. So much so that I asked to be connected with their legal counsel so that I could take the appropriate next steps. They said that they would put me in touch but never reconnected with me on the matter. Yes, I'm bitter and, yes, I'm still upset but I'm writing this review because I don't want anyone else to have to go through such a deplorable experience with such an untrustworthy management company. read more

They have managed our property for 5 years. It has been pretty smooth, but the test for me was this week as we had our tenant checkout. The property was professionally cleaned at our expense to prep for sale, and in just days the tenant made it pretty filthy. In the conversation with Birdsong - they were very apathetic. I am disappointed in their desire to take care of us as property owners. I was left with the feeling that they cannot be bothered to complete our 5 year relationship with any personal touch. They refunded the tenant's security deposit without viewing the property and basically shrugged at our duplicate expense for cleaning again. Just told us to pick up keys at a UPS store. All-in-all, when we questioned their service and pushed back with what we thought was proper care, they shut down. Not impressed. They sold us on stellar service and we paid top rate as industry standards go. Did not think I'd have a review like this to write about them some years ago.... read more

Well...I don't understand these poor reviews, unless only the few people with complaints are submitting reviews. We've been renting vacation homes through Birdsong for a week almost every year for the last ten years, and in that time have rented four different properties from them, two of them multiple times. All of the properties have been outstanding. They are clearly picky in terms of the properties they represent. In that time we have had one issue, and Elizabeth and Marc resolved it to our complete satisfaction in a matter of hours. We have had no problem with payments, and the communication has been regular, clear and accurate. They are clearly concerned with satisfying their customers, and I would recommend them and their properties without hesitation. Since they've been in business a long time, hopefully the many, many other customers who have had positive experiences will add their reviews so people can get a fairer picture of their services. read more
