If you own a home, do yourself a favor and run far away from Pamela Taeuffer. I recently stayed in an Airbnb that she manages. We found a mouse or rat in the listing and found droppings. I'm a home owner, and I know that can happen in the countryside. The problem is, she never admitted they had a problem with mice - even though the property is on a "pest control plan"! She never offered even a meager refund on our $1000/nt stay. Her poor customer attitude and lack of ability to use modern technology to correspond quickly with guests was a true disappointment. I will actively avoid any property managed by her and will do my best to see her unlisted from Airbnb. Given the already low reviews, hopefully you can tell that she's not very good at her job. read more

I wish I'd listened to the community members who know the property manager and online reviews who warned me away from this company, but I took a chance and I regret it. Landlords and renters alike, be aware. The owner of this company is rude, unprofessional, and untruthful, always looking for how to pad her own pockets. I sold my house (that was always on a month-to-month lease) to a family friend and the property manager was upset I didn't sell to the tenants because she wanted a finder's fee. She allowed the tenants to illegally move out without giving 30 days notice and I had to involve an attorney at the end of our rental agreement because the property manager lied about landlord tenant law. It's unbelievable that a "professional" would send e-mails name calling and threatening yet she did, repeatedly. Do your research and look elsewhere. read more

We recently rented a long term home from HPM. Pam Taeuffer was professional and the rental process thorough. The home is beautiful! When we came to see it we met Pam's husband for a walk through. He was easy to communicate with and told us as much about the home as he knew. I had a list of questions which I emailed Pam. She answered all of them. What she didn't know she found out from the owner and got back to me. Before moving in they had a cleaning service come to clean the home. When we arrived it was completely refreshed. In our first week we had an issue with the AC and Pam had an HVAC company out to the house that day. Within 48 hours it was completely repaired. The house is on a well. We had an issue with the water and Pam had someone come out to have it repaired within an hour of us calling. Pam has been easy to work with and very helpful. We love our house!!! read more

After reading the horrible reviews about Pam Taeuffer and Healdsburg Property Management, we confirmed that we were not alone in our terribly negative experience with Pam. If Pam is not in her office, she refuses to speak over the phone and is incredibly cryptic and short in her email correspondences. A Property Manager who refuses to talk outside of office hours? Odd and alarming, but we moved forward in applying anyway because we loved the house. Long story short, we were denied the rental due to one of the two tenants having a low credit score, which was due to an unfortunate circumstance outside of our control (the credit score was still deemed 'fair' by Experian, and we had all of the documentation necessary to move forward despite the one low score). Instead of offering ways to negotiate and to settle any unease, which we were happy to do, ie. raising the deposit amount or getting a co-signer, she simply refused to rent to us even though our income was verified at 5x the required amount. So, we moved on, and in turn found another rental very close by with responsive, kind property managers who accepted our application despite the one low credit score, with no questions asked. If you are looking to rent your home as a long-term rental or vacation rental, or if you are a renter yourself, I highly suggest avoiding Pam and Healdsburg Property Management altogether if you can help it. She has cost the owners of this property quite a bit of money (the rental I'm referring to has been vacant and available for months now, MONTHS!), most likely due to her lack of motivation and awful communication skills, as the rental is beautiful and accurately priced. I would be very careful renting from these people. We found a country home out off Starr Rd in Windsor that we absolutely loved. We set up an appointment with Pam to see it, Claude her husband met us - he wasn't very friendly and the whole viewing felt awkward. There was junk all over the yard and we asked if it was all staying and he said yes. We noticed the brand new water filter and were happy for that - but when we inquired on a recent water report Pam ignored us and didn't return our emails. I just hope the new tenants took the time to research the water quality & well at this location. Wells are not regulated and up to the private owner of the home to be maintained properly. I rented a home from HPM this year. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and found the properties at HPM to be a grade above the rest in the market. After moving in, our well had an issue on a Saturday morning. I contacted Pam at HPM immediately and she worked quickly to ensure our problem was corrected. It took a couple days for the well pump to be repaired but, in the interim she made sure that we had water and got our holding tank filled up. Every problem we have asked about has been handled quickly and efficiently from a minor AC issue to a cracked sink. I would recommend them to anyone who desires to live in the area. read more

Some of the things they've done for the community is pay online fees for their tenants, qualify single parents, and provide fair housing standards when dealing with applicants equally across the board. She's quick to handle repairs and her property owners are well informed, and are consulted in the application process. I highly recommend this company. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Aaron called to tell me that my house rental is being cancelled due to county of Sonoma construction requirements (a poll is being put in at the property). I asked what other properties were available since I have 6 people flying in to celebrate my birthday, and he sent me a contract for a smaller, more run down property without a pool for only $100 less. When I asked for an explanation, he snottily said "Look, I don't know what you want from me. We aren't even making money off your rental now." I was completely taken aback and asked for his manager to call me. I have yet to receive a call from the owner and just called Aaron back to ask for a cancelled contract and receive my $700 down payment back so that I can make alternate arrangements. Aaron literally just chewed me out, told me that his manager isn't around and that she'll get back to me at some point. When I asked why he had such an attitude problem and was giving me such poor customer service, he continued to yell at me and then went silent, offering no solution. To Aaron's manager: please have the decency to call me and refund my money with the proper documentation immediately. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau and contacting the Wine Road association in hopes of black listing your company. read more

Don't expect to get WOW'ed by these guys. Expect the very least in customer service. Drove in from San Francisco to stay the weekend at the 'casa de luna' house. Having over an hours worth of paperwork, they also require a cash deposit, which was annoying to get all that money from the bank, and not to mention sketchy leaving cash VS on a credit card. We were staying at a house in Santa Rosa and they made us drive an hour North out of our way IN TRAFFIC on a Friday afternoon to get the keys at their office in Healdsburg. No "key box" situation with these folks. We asked them if they could meet us halfway, and they refused. Nice way to start off our so called "vacation". We entered the house and we expected it to look better than the photos online. It actually looked worse. It resembled something like my great grandmothers house and was completely outdated. The stench as soon as you walked in was so powerful it was musty and the odor was unbearable. The pool and yard area were pleasant, but noticed tons of feathers and blood all over the deck and in the pool. We examined a bit more and found a dead chicken along with 2 dead rats in the bushes since there were flies everywhere. We cleaned them up, which was horrific since most of us are vegetarians having to deal with this mess. The sleeping situation was a bit awkward, it stated it slept 8. There was 2 queen beds, and 1 pullout mattress and 2 twin beds. We only had 2 couples with us, so it meant that 2 complete strangers in our group had to share a bed that night. We also searched the house for some sort of linen cabinet and couldn't find any extra comforters for the pull out. I ended up giving them mine from the queen bed, and froze all night. One of my friends in the group had the worst experience, she actually found a dead bird in her bed and didn't discover it until the next morning which meant she slept next to it all night. The bird had no eyeballs which we thought was creepy. Seriously something from a horror movie. We couldn't wait to leave. We paid good money to enjoy ourselves and escape city life, when in reality our weekend and my friends birthday surprise was ruined. We called the Property Management office several times and sent emails to the owner Pamela. No response back and took weeks back to get our deposit. UPDATE: After the stay someone in our group contracted a disease from the hot tub. Her Doctor said it was Legionella and Pseudomonas bacteria which is caused from dirty hot tubs. read more

My work rented a lovely home from them for a staff retreat, but we had a ridiculous time dealing with their office (i.e. we had to repeatedly make phone calls to get a receipt) and then several of us came home with hot tub folliculitis, a skin infection caused by bacteria in the hot tub. Yikes. HPM also took way too long to return the deposit which they demanded be cash. Why they couldn't use a credit card hold is suspicious to me and super unprofessional! No wonder HPM only has 2 stars! Booking and confirmation all went smoothly, the house was great, and the staff was friendly when we dropped by for the key before check-in. But when I give someone $450 as a SECURITY DEPOSIT, to me that means it's a deposit in case something isn't as they left it or there is damage to the house. It also means they cash it (if that's their policy) the day of check-in, NOT a week after check-out. On top of which, they then hold my money for up to 30 days while I wait for a refund?? My boyfriend and I stayed in the Picnic Cottage last weekend and we are happy to report that we had a wonderful time. The view was amazing and the cottage was perfect for two. We loved the decor and the fresh flowers by the bedside. We received quite a few complimentary wine tastings and a free bottle of rose wine made by the property owner. Miko, the property manager, was such a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful and suggested great restaurants and wineries for us to visit. I recently planned a trip to Sonoma County for a wine getaway for my Mom's birthday/family reunion. I looked in the area for hotel prices and found them a bit too steep for a large group like mine. So I rented a home from the Healdsburg Property Management. I rented a 4 bedroom/3 bath house in Santa Rosa with a pool and koi pond for 4 days. It was beautiful and perfect for the occasion. The house had everything one would need. You have full use of the house and the property I rented was big enough to sleep 13 people. The rental office made booking really easy, and during the stay, they are on call if there is an emergency. I really recommend doing this if you are planning a vacation in the wine country. read more

Our experience with Pam and team at Healdsburg Property Management was exceptional from Oct 2017-June 2019. We lost our Fountaingrove home in the 2017 Tubbs Fire, and were desperate to find a home that could fit our family, as most of the larger home inventory was gone by fire, or snapped up immediately by other families in need. Pam made one of her Airbnb homes available for long term rental to help families in need, and we jumped on the opportunity. The price was fair, the application process was very simple/efficient, and communication couldn't have been better throughout. The Interlude home on Mill Creek Lane was the perfect size, and provided a much needed respite for our family to heal. As evidenced in the LNU/Walbridge fire coverage, this area is beautiful, but heavily wooded, so in addition to the remarkable views, you do encounter wildlife of all types from time to time. We loved this, but it's not for everyone. I have seen a few reviews regarding mice, and all I can say is that a property like this will have them from time to time. During our stay there, these kind of "country home" issues were few and far between, but when they appeared, they were resolved quickly and effectively. I recommend booking them for your next vacation rental, we certainly will! read more

I had a rather good experience I wanted to share. We rented the property called "La Bonita" in Santa Rosa from Healdsburg property Management. They were friendly and responsive. Furthermore, the price of the property was reasonable and the property itself absolutely beautiful! The hot tub in the yard broke after one use, however we called the after hours service line and they were very responsive in taking care of the issue. Again, the place its self was a slice of heaven surrounded by wineries and I would recommend the experience to anyone wanting a great getaway for a group of people. read more

Based on the reviews and a previous encounter with them we didn't want to rent property from them but when a house practically next door became available it was listed with HPM so we had no choice but to deal with Pam again and applied. After waiting eight business days I called to find out about application and nobody called us back. One week later we received a letter via "snail mail" informing us that we were denied because of "incomplete application" the reason was "none of your references have returned our calls". Not sure why we weren't called about this to "complete our application". We then called our references only to find out that not one of our previous property management companies were called nor were any of our personal and professional references called! Our previous encounter was in 2011 when we were relocating here from southern CA. We came up here and found a property that we loved and applied, we were told everything was great with our application and that nobody else was interested in property so "just waiting for owner Pam to sign off". I received an EMAIL the night before we were moving (one day before we were to occupy property) informing us that they gave property to someone else!!! This virtually left us homeless! We ended up having to spend a week in a hotel, while we went through "application process" with another company causing us to have to board our 2 cats and I lost a weeks pay as I had to delay starting my new job to find a new place to rent. They rented my condo for 4 years to 2 tenants while i was out of town. When I notified them i would be returning and asked for an inspection before i returned the security deposit, they assured me that the property was left in good condition. When i returned and did a walk through with their representative, I noticed the coffee table, television was missing as was the clothes dryer. The furniture was also heavily scratched and chipped. Attempts to contact them failed. My experience with them was terrible overall. read more

Beware of the property called "Wine Country Cottage". It is available on their website. What it doesn't say is that the house is only a couple yards off of a major road and next to the 101 Freeway. The noise is unbearable when trying to sleep. Maybe if they put some ceiling fans in the bedrooms it would drown out the traffic noise. Also, we have rented properties frequently in the area and out on the Sonoma coast, and my experience is that the kitchen is usually stocked with a few basics such as spices etc. Make sure you bring your own to this one. The only thiings stocked in the kitchen are things left over from previous visitors. It is a nice little house otherwise, but as I said, the location is awful and for the money there are much better properties in the area. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I spent over a month talking with them about our rental and when it can time to pay there were issues with the owner and the house was not available anymore. We then picked another property. I requested to be sent a contract and they kept demanding that I send them my credit number. I requested that call me to discuss the rental and the credit card number and their response was that I should go to another company!!! Worst customer service ever! When I told them I would post a review on yelp this was their response: Thanks for that - Yelp is just a big joke - a bunch of 20 somethings wanting to see themselves in writing. Wow.. I should have checked out Yelp BEFORE renting from them. Looks like I'm not the only one that had a bad experience with this rental company. We rented the Wine Country Cottage for 2 nights ($350 each night) At first, we were pleased with the place. The location is great... very close to downtown and also right down the street from a ton of wineries. Upon further investigation... we found rat feces...? It was definitely droppings from some live creature... on the floor in a bedroom, in the sheets, on the couch and on the floor in the living room!!!! I emailed Pamela and she replied saying she was going to get pest control in there. I followed up asking how she would be handling this for my experience. Pest control will fix any future guests but not me! She then replied asking me what I want from her and she doesn't understand what I am asking from her. She (nor anyone else from the company) NEVER even attempted an apology!!! I had to call multiple times just to make sure there was an actual reservation. read more

Don't know why any home owner would use this place to manage their rental. We are currently looking for a rental and made an inquiry. Took about a week or so to get a return phone call. Clearly not motivated to get applications in to find tentants for their long term rentals. They didn't even ask me what we were looking for to see if they did have something that would or could work. Also not actively posting anywhere else their available rentals. Some of their listings have been on their website for months. Most decent rentals right now are getting snapped up pretty quick. I have found each of the homes that I have rented in the Healdsburg area to be well maintained and extremely clean. We are in particular frequent visitors to the Jimtown House.
