Glass of the Lugana white - delicious

This place has a fun vibe and plays great music - classic California hip hop. I can't explain why it goes so well with the Italian wine bar thing they're doing, but they pull it off perfectly. Decorations are irreverent yet staff are accommodating. They have free wifi, outdoor seating alongside the small canal, and a free shot if you like them on Facebook or follow them on Instagram. Overall, it just works. I'd go out of my way to come here again anytime I'm in Venice. This places makes not eating meat easy, fun, and inventive yet still Italian. I loved their bruschette in delicious combos like asparagus-mozzarella-black truffle, pesto-tomato-balsamic, and pumpkin-brie-spicy "salsa." They also have many meat and seafood options - classic prosciutto and salami included. A aperol spritz is their only cocktail but they do it right. The bulk of the drink choices are wines by the glass. If you're not a wine expert, don't feel intimidated. On my first visit, I randomly chose the Lugano white and was happily surprised. The staff is also willing to make recommendations. Everything on the drink menu is Italian except some of their beers and everything we tried was good. Prices are all around affordable - the bruschette can add up if you're trying to make a meal out of them, but drinks are cheap and good. Nothing in the place was over €5. Don't miss it!

This bar is located in Venice's Ghetto quarter. Its full of local Venetians. We loved our time at this little bar people watching along with watching the boats go by. The crowd is social, and you cannot beat this on summer evenings. It also has a good variety of chichetti, all of which we tried were really tasty and a really patient and friendly barman who explained all the items on display. There is no table service and it is clearly marked everywhere so you order at the bar. I'd recommend this to anyone who comes to Venice. Also plenty of places around this bar to eat, so its a great stop off.

What a cool, local place!! Highly recommend going to this area on a Friday night if you're feeling young and flirty! Came here after a free walking tour and our tour guide said this is where she and her friends get drinks and Cicchetti. There is limited seating outside so when you see something open up grab it! If you're a couple don't be freaked out if another couple sits with you at the table- this is the Venetian way! Plus you get to make new friends! Really enjoyed the Chardonnay and multiple Cicchetti we got here! Would recommend any of the meat ones and maybe hold off on the cod because it's really a powerful taste.

A totally off the beaten path, non-tourist place to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine or beer. Nothing fancy, but everything we tried, from the cold white wine to the wonderful little sandwiches was absolutely delicious. There are a few outdoor tables practically hugging the canal. Great for people watching. After securing our space we were told by a couple of locals (yay!) to go inside and order at the bar. The local wine choice was easy. The crisp white was ice cold and delicious! There's a whole array of little food items to choose from: meatballs and calzones (with a better name than that) and lots and lots of open faced sandwiches. We chose four of them at 2e a piece: turkey with bleu cheese, tuna with onions, spiced meat, and cod. Each was served on a different type of bread and was seasoned to perfection. It was a fantastic place to recharge!

    This place?? BIG YES!!!!

2nd day in Venice , we were looking for a place that wasn't as "touristy" and that's when we found Birreria Zanon. As soon as we saw ghe amboence my husband and I were like "this is it!" I had a glass of wine, he had a beer and we sat outsite by the canal. Great atmosphere and good drinks for an awesome price!!! We orderes a plate of 7 different "appetizers" that were AWEEESOMEEE!!!!! We have 1 more night in Venice and Im pretty sure we'll go back.

Stumbled into this place walking on our first day.ove the vibe, very West Coast with the old school hip hop/rap. The wine and appitiizers were great and the fun ambiance/wall decor.

Fun spot with local wine selections and full bar. Love that they have Tupac on repeat!

Really great staff, fun clientele, cool space, good prices. Couldn't give 5 since they weren't serving food due to the flooding.

Maybe he was having an off night. He asked what we wanted to try. He'd pour a tasting and then roll his eyes and wander off, bring his friends their charged phones from the back, and then just look at us. Such a shame, we had hoped for a better experience. We found many other places in this area that we loved and enjoyed their wine. Such a cool hip local area.

Location is very nice, right at a pretty trendy canal, filled with lots of restaurants and bars. Right next to is an excellent gelato place. It's quite small inside with few tables, many just hang around outside - and why not, the location at the canale is a pretty spot. We did manage though to get some seats inside. Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well. The various cicchetti are presented at the counter. There are some classics of course, but also some very innovative creations. We went for the latter. There was gorgonzola with strawberry, radicchio with brie cheese, pesto topped with an anchovie and mushrooms, mashed fava beans with pulp and mashed fava with goats cheese and a cherry. All really wonderful combinations. Our favorite were the radicchio and the fava/goat cheese. Surely something to recreate back home. Staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome here. And instead of focussing on Aperol, Select and Prosecco, it's mostly about white and red wine here. And they have an excellent selection of wine. Not all cheap, but definitely worth the money. We especially loved the Pinot Nero "Terre di Giotto". A brillant cicchetti bar. Definitely a place we come back to next time in Venice.

Upon arrival, the owner was sitting at a table drinking wine. There weren't any people dining, so we were the only ones. The servers and cooks were very attentive. We were immediately greeted and seated while our drink requests were taken. We always choose still water. Today, we decided to try a wine tasting, which included a blend of whites of reds from the region. The waiter explained in detail the type of wine, where it is made, what type of grapes it is made with, and the year it was made. All of the wines were very delicious. Italy takes great pride in their wines and rightfully so. We requested bruschetta and presciutto. We were given fresh, warm bread, which we mixed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was amazing. It had a soft, warm inside and a crunchy outside. Isn't that they way bread should be served? The bruschetta was delicious as was the presciutto. The food, wine, and service were superb. We vowed that we would return for dinner, but alas, we didn't make time to do so. This is a great restaurant!

The cichetti selection looked very good (variety thinned out throughout the night), but our party of 3 was starving and we opted to sit inside for a late ~8:30pm dinner. We got one order of grilled lamb and the Lombatello steak for 2. The lamb was also good, no gamey taste. The Lombatello steak was simply fantastic, choose this cut specifically!! A heaping pile of medium-rare meat (cannot buy single portions) that was very tender and flavorful. It's cushioned with steak fries and grilled veggies on the side. Paired with two glasses of house wine, this meal was fantastic. Ended up with a to go box of steak and fries. Servers are very busy, bustling around clearing tables, taking orders, etc, but they are vigilant if you need anything. We saw one table of ~10 order a steak platter, and it was a sight to behold - a massive wooden cutting board packed with steak, transported by two waiters.
