Caldo de Birria y tacos de Birria were delicious!!! Tortillas were fresh and authentic to Sonora. Salsa verde y roja very spicy yet also very delicious. Food came out quickly. Service was great. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!

What's up all!! Soooo, yesterday I went to grab one of my favorite meals, Birria de Chivo, and I only know a few spots (Westside & Mesa) but this one's pretty good. Best place I've had it so far was Ensanada, MX for me, but given this dish is served up different ways and different styles throughout different areas of Mexico, I can only go off of what I've had. Check out how the get down went!! Birria de Chivo - This braised bowl of heavenly goodness (Goat Meat) definitely hit for me. I could definitely taste the flavors of the broth and marinade, typically Chiles and Spices, but I walked away fat and satisfied. Served up with some toppings like Cilantro, Onions and Cabbage, and a side of warm corn tortillas, but for me, the salsa verde served on the side was legit too and perfect for the tortillas. For me, bomb!! And I know there's a spot right up the street that's just as good or maybe even better but this is where I landed. Definitely worth making a stop for. Tacos de Chicharron - Definitely one of my favorite tacos, Chicharron is basically the fried skin and fat cap of the pork belly. It's a balance of fried crunchy-ness and tender pork fat, hella menu worthy and up there with the other taco meat big dogs, no doubt. This is a must order for me here. Tacos de Cahuamanta - So this was a first for me, and I'm not gonna lie, I was a little in between after my first bite. Not knowing what it was, I immediately thought "this would be better as a soup". To which I later found out, is usually prepared as a soup but also a taco as well. But. It was a combination of Manta Ray and Shrimp, and never having Manta Ray before, it definitely had a stronger fish flavor. I wasn't a huge fan, it's worth a try, but I'm definitely getting the soup version next time. Go check em out next time you're in the area, I enjoyed it, no disappointments on this side but. Give it a go!! Cheers!!

I walked in and was immediately greeted by the staff with a big hello! I said to myself, this is a good start. At first when you walk in and look at the menu yes, it's a bit overwhelming. However once I got my bearings straight it was easy for me to decide. Al gusto Trio! It is basically a three item combo, rice and beans with a small garnish salad which I really could have done without. And of course tortillas which I ordered corn and much to my surprise I got six freshly made corn tortillas! Usually places only give 3 just saying. Okay so now let's get to the food. I took my first bite and immediately My heart stopped for a second and my eyes started to well up as it was a flavor I haven't had in such a long time! I felt like I came home meaning mom's or grandma's house! I'm definitely coming back to this restaurant! PS. I would've gave five stars however the Coke was $$

I have been looking for a good Birrieria for a long time. I am originally from Obregon and it's hard to find a place as good as the one back home. However, I though this Birrieria was amazing, the service was great, the food took a little bit to come out but, it was super busy so it's somewhat understandable. Needless to say, I thought the birria was delicious and great job on the red salsa.!!!! Also, it was nice to see they had other menu options to choose from.

The food was amazing. Great taste and the right amount of spices. I placed an order through UBER Eats and the order arrived wrong. I very upset and called the restaurant, the staff handled the situation incredibly well even though I had a temper and was kind of rude (my apologies). I am glad I palced my order again, because the food was worth it. The staff remembered me and sent over 2 deserts for the inconvenience (They 2 where amazing). THANK YOU! read more

I ordered a beef birria torta; the description showed the torta having only jalapeno and avocado added, and I did not add any more ingredients than that. When I received the torta, it had tomato, lettuce, onion, american cheese, and so much mayo that I thought it was sour cream. This torta was inedible to me because not only am I allergic to onion, but also lactose intolerant. What a waste of money, please update your menu items to be accurate. read more

I got my food through uber eats and I was so pleased with how covid friendly it was. It was all sealed up, my drink and menudo were covered with plastic wrap and held down with stickersand it's just the cherry on top when it's hot and delicious!!! 10 out of 10 would recommend read more

Their food is so good and so consistent. I been going here for years and food is amazing! I am not a great fan of menudo except when eating it here. Their menudo tastes so good always. The waitresses carries a secret stash of pipiquin, if you like your food with that you have to ask. Them pull out a napkin because they give it to you right away. Smash it in the napkin with a salt shaker and enjoy your menudo. read more

Chilaquiles were made with water down sauce. And they have these "Birria quesotacos" that taste like straight up 5 day old canola oil. They had a small pocket of meat. It was a 7 out of 10 tortilla barely any birria. Just go AZ TACO KING atleast there the consume doesn't take like sink water and meat actually falls out of your taco from how loaded it is. Never coming here again read more

Overpriced. Ordered food from here through a delivery service. Took an hour which is fine I guess but $4 for ONE birria taco. The photo they have along with it showed 2 tacos which is why I ordered 2 orders of it think we would get 4 total but once I got my delivery it was only 1 taco. Same with the quesabirria tacos. $4.50 for one taco and the photo has multiple tacos. Plus the 1 quesabirria taco they gave me Didn't have a lot of meat or cheese in it. It was mainly tortilla. Not worth the price at all in my opinion. I've had much better for a cheaper price. read more

Excellent shrimp tacos! Two tacos that are a good size and filling. I also had one fried shrimp taco that I did not order but someone in the party I was with gave me one and it was very good too. I got a xarne asada burrito to go the place was loud which isnt super abnormal but i hate that aside from the child making piercing noises with his toy whistle the tv i was sat next to is blaring so that im yelling while i sit at my table. The food... was one of my top least favorite food experiences had i known what it contained id have skipped it. So the meat, super chewy and fatty and not actually flavorful but juicy. The burrito came with what seemed like salvadoran curtido (cabbage soaked in vinegar) which by the time i got home made my burrito sopping wet and disgusting along with the fatty chewy meat. So i ate the teeny tiny portion of rice and beans and picked off what i could. Overall.. Would never return read more

This was our second visit to the Cornish Pasty Co. location on 32nd Street in Phoenix and our third…read morevisit to the restaurant group overall. We continue to be impressed by both the quality and creativity of their food. On this visit, I ordered The Pilgrim, which is essentially Thanksgiving dinner wrapped inside a pasty. It features turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. It arrived absolutely piping hot--seriously, give it a few minutes before taking that first bite--but once it cooled down, it was phenomenal. The combination of flavors was comforting and satisfying, and a little cranberry sauce with each bite provided the perfect balance. My only minor critique would be that the ingredients could have been distributed a bit more evenly throughout the pasty. I also found the gravy slightly more peppery than expected, occasionally overshadowing the stuffing, sweet potatoes, and turkey. Even so, this has become my favorite pasty at Cornish Pasty Co. We also tried the Peppered Steak pasty, which features sirloin, portobello mushrooms, leeks, zucchini, Stilton bleu cheese, and a peppercorn brandy cream sauce. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, especially the steak and the wonderfully flaky crust. For my personal taste, the peppercorn brandy cream sauce was a little more prominent than I prefer, and I found myself wanting more of the steak, mushroom, and Stilton flavors to come through. That's simply a matter of preference, though--it was still a well-executed dish made with quality ingredients. One thing Cornish Pasty Co. consistently gets right is the crust. Every pasty we've had has been flaky, flavorful, and substantial without feeling heavy. This wasn't our first experience with their menu. Over the years we've thoroughly enjoyed the Tikka Masala, the Lamb & Mint (which was a genuine "wow" dish), and the Royale. Those are all excellent choices, but after this visit, The Pilgrim has moved to the top of my personal rankings. Our two pasties came in under $20 each, making for a filling and satisfying meal at a reasonable price. We ordered takeout, and while there was a bit of a wait after we arrived, it's worth noting that these are made-to-order pasties, not fast food. Even though we only ordered a few minutes before arriving, the quality was well worth the extra time. My biggest criticism has nothing to do with the food. While waiting, my wife and I sat inside briefly, and we found the music extremely loud. During our visit, the restaurant was playing Silth, a progressive metalcore band. Musical tastes are obviously subjective, but the combination of the style and volume made conversation difficult for us. My wife eventually decided to wait in the car because it was simply too loud. The restaurant clearly aims for a lively pub atmosphere, with games available and a diverse mix of patrons enjoying themselves, so many people may appreciate that environment. It just wasn't a great fit for us. That said, the food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and we'll absolutely be back. After waiting 30 minutes for my spring rolls (in an almost empty restaurant), they arrived with no peanut sauce and zero apology from the staff. By this point I was flushed, short of breath, and feeling faint from the heat and poor air circulation. I politely let the male server know I was overheating and felt like I might faint. His response? He told me the AC was on and to "drink more water" -- in a rude, dismissive tone -- then walked away to greet a new customer. I packed up my spring rolls to go and paid without a word. He didn't seem surprised. It felt like this was a pattern he was used to. After leaving I checked other reviews -- long wait times, poor atmosphere, and rude staff are recurring themes. I'm adding my experience to save others the trip. Don't waste your time or money here.
