Absolutely disappointing experience. I kept seeing this place all over social media with glowing reviews, so I went in with high expectations, but it didn't live up to the hype at all. To start, the receptionist was rude and came across as pretentious, as if this were a Michelin-star restaurant, when in reality they're serving items like chips and tacos. We initially tried to make a reservation but were turned away, so we agreed to be put on the waitlist. She told us it would be about 30 minutes, but we ended up waiting for an hour with no update. When we finally went back to ask, we were told there were no seats available--no explanation, no apology, nothing. The lack of basic customer service was frustrating. I'm honestly surprised by all the positive attention this place gets online. There are plenty of great Mexican restaurants in Arizona that actually deliver both good food and good service. This one just isn't worth your time or money.

Make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting for a table. The service is very efficient and fast. No lingering with the meal. The best chicken flautas I have had in a very long time. They were tightly rolled and the chicken was so moist. I would have liked a little more lettuce. Other than that they were delicious. Not really a churro fan we decided to share a plate. They were so good. A generous serving of ice cream to go with them and a small amount of caramel sauce. The caramel was okay, chocolate would have been better. Anticipating my next visit.

This place was HOPPING!! Definitely recommend you make a reservation. Especially on a Friday night. Wow! This place was jam packed. It was great to see. Especially for a small local business. I love seeing them busy. The house Margarita was potent and delicious. Would order again & recommend. Yummy yummy! I ordered the fajitas. My friends ordered the el pastor tacos & the pescado tacos, as well as the tortilla soup. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING disappointed. Everything was so jam packed full of flavor and happiness. I couldn't imagine a better meal to share with friends. It did get to be a bit noisy because of how small it is inside but otherwise, you adapt pretty well. The servers are all excellent and attentive. Presentation of the food and drinks were fabulous. If you haven't been here, do yourself a solid & come check it out. Prices are BEYOND reasonable.

So here we are out of convince. Service was mediocre - ambiance is well I'm not sure if there is any? The guac is just mushy tomatoes. The salsa is still just okay. Not hot, not flavorful. I got the enchiladas which were also boring.. I'm so tired of writing this review - I went back and looked at the reviews too many fake ones.

Amazing neighborhood spot for upscale Mexican food. One of the rare instances where the Mexican food is actually great and it's not a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Pros 1. Friendly, personable and nice waitstaff 2. Very good food. We all loved the funded appetizer and housemate tortillas to go with were excellent. We also all really liked our entrees except our one friend said his entree (shrimp - see pic) was a little on the bland side. 3. Nice, clean, up-to-date decor Cons 1. Very expensive for a neighborhood, strip mall restaurant. It's a nice restaurant but nothing over the top and not in a super expensive area so the pricing doesn't seem to line up. 2. Adding 3.5% charge on top of the already high prices is a turn off and would deter me from returning.

This place is a home run. Great service and nice ambiance but the food is off the charts. I believe this is one of those places where you could literally order anything on the menu and leave very happy. I'm told the cocktails are sold too - but I think the pics on this review say it all. I can't say enough good things about this place - I HIGHLY recommend.

We decided to try Corazon de Agave because I had on my list for awhile and the reviews seemed great. In the end we had an okay experience but we were not overwhelmed and probably will not be back. Important point: Prices are very reasonable and probably low for Scottsdale. First let me start by saying potentially the main problem: the night we went (a Tuesday), the place was packed but the restaurant was dramatically understaffed. The servers were working very hard and trying their best (even with annoying customers) so I don't fault them. They also did warn us that food would be slow coming out (the food wasn't slow once we ordered). But in the end the lack of appropriate staffing did affect our experience. Management needs to hire more people, pay more, or somehow handle this issue. Seat less people or something. I don't know but it wasn't good. Starting with cocktails, my husband had a margarita. It was extremely watered down and basically tasted like water. It literally tasted like a watered down drink that someone had topped off with ice. Pretty disappointing. In sharp contrast, I had some type of hibiscus spritz cocktail. It was amazing and perfectly done. I would have had another but the server had no time to check on us. This was the best item I had on the menu. We asked for chips and salsa. Something I always look forward to. We eventually got them- not as an appetizer but with our meal. It was ok and the sauces were hot! Unfortunately we were still waiting for water by the time I was eating those chips and my mouth was on fire. Had to stop eating them. For dinner, I ordered the birria tacos. They were fine but light on the meat. Consomme was also fine but I have definitely had better. My husband had carne asada tacos. Mediocre and plain. Took a long time to get our bill and even longer wait for a to go box. I was ready to go by the time we could finally leave especially since I had been out of a drink for awhile. I did see several people eating a bone in pork or lamb dish that looked quite good. The enchiladas also looked good! Unfortunately I won't be back to try them. There's too many other nearby options.

Really enjoyed Corazon de Agave. We ordered the molcajete and the enchiladas banderas. For drinks, I tried the cucumber jalapeño margarita and the pineapple margarita. The restaurant itself is really cute. We went on a Saturday evening and were seated right away, though it did get busier as the night went on. The service was great, and the staff gave helpful food and drink recommendations. The food was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The molcajete was much bigger than I expected and came with chicken, beef, shrimp, cactus, and grilled cheese. The shrimp, cactus, and cheese were my favorites, and the beans and sauce were so good. The enchiladas banderas were filled with chicken and came with three different sauces, all delicious. The red sauce was my favorite. I also really loved the refried beans. My favorite margarita was the cucumber jalapeño. It was so tasty. I definitely recommend checking out Corazon de Agave if you are looking for an elevated Mexican food experience with fresh flavors. I already have a few things I want to try the next time I visit.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted and seated. We had a father and son tag team serving us. We had delicious Cadillac Margs. My hubby was so excited to order the cochinita pibil but unfortunately they didn't have any that night. They recommended the tampiquena however the two enchiladas that accompany the dish were all chicken offerings. He asked if they can make them with pork instead and they accommodated. His dish was nicely planted and the steak was cooked med rare just like he ordered. My meal was the verde enchilada. Comes with three but I only ate one as I full from the chips and salsa. It was good and saucey. We ordered churros to share. I only ate one and he had the rest. Both Alejandro and Alberto were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. We will be back for sure!

We went for our first meal here because it was rated so high on Yelp. It was good. I think that the other server, that we did not have, was better. It seems that on Tuesdays they have a special on their tacos so the place was full of people ordering tacos. Our server's English was minimal and he mumbled, so we did not understand that. My husband ordered the only tacos that were not on sale. Oh well. I think that I had the flautas and I appreciated that they made them onion free for me.

Most of everything were amazing ! The server was attentive and sweet. We went on a Monday, not too busy; steady flow of customers for 6 o'clock. They offer happy hour which is always a great bonus. Drinks were still pretty strong . Their guac was creamy and tasty! salsa was super delicious and had a kick to it ! Portion was big enough to share. Fajitas had a giant pile of meat. I really enjoyed the enchiladas!!!!! Steak can be cooked a little longer but we were fine with it because I know we would take home and re heat for left over. Overall, everything was excellent!! The only thing was the bathroom was kind of dirty and smelled a little .

Had dinner here while in Scottsdale. It's a cute place- typical decor. The server was wonderful- he gave us great suggestions and was very friendly and happy. The food was good and the portions were generous. The enchiladas were delicious. It's a great place for a Tex-Mex meal.

This bar also has live music on saturdays, trivia's and game nights. In fact, at every table, they have a deck of cards against humanity. At the entrance they also have a variety of other games like connect four, jenga and such. Lavender fog: great balance of lavender and earl grey tea! The foam is the best creamy touch to the drink. I feel in a relaxed daze when I have this drink. I think it's the most special one here. It was even featured on a magazine! Pour favor: I don't like mezcal but this was nice. The mango puree was prominent which I loved and was well complimented with sour and spice. This drink style is a little more commonly found in other bars too which is probably because it's popular! Indoor smoking: smoky, cool and well done twist in the old fashioned. They prepare it in such a cool way with the smoking process and the delivery is great. SMOOTH old fashion. It was alcohol forward but I didn't feel any burn that I normally get from any common old fashion. It also had the best citrus aftertaste The sunny slope sour: great if you love whiskey sour. I loved this drink the pear and peach made the whiskey taste less harsh. One of the better renditions of whiskey sours I've had My brightside. Bitter but works so well with watermelon! Refreshing, balanced and delicious. I typically don't love Negronis but I loved this rendition. The nanny: mezcal espresso martini that was also well done. You can also taste raspberry and chocolate every sip Mulled wine: hot wine with spices that I argue was better than the mulled wines I've had in Europe. All the spices and aromas were so complex yet cozy for a chilly night! The bartenders treat their regulars well and seem to really have a great community here. Ambiance (4/5): Speakeasies popped up during the Prohibition Era when alcohol was illegal in the U.S. Since they were underground bars, there was no signage. You had to know where to go to find it. Which is part of the experience. There should be a creative way to get into a speakeasy. This is an area where Pigtails fails. While it's somewhat hidden, there's a neon sign that says Pigtails. Dead giveaway. You walk down a flight of stairs and that takes you to the bar. When you arrive, you'll see a central bar with bar stools surrounding it. With some nice booths on the exterior. Which is where I sat. The lighting could be a little darker (after all ambiance is one of the hallmarks of a speakeasy) and the music was a bit too loud, but outside of that, nicely done. Service (4.5/5): Friendly and mostly efficient service all-around. They fill up your water cup without you asking. They provide you with helpful recommendations. And there's free WiFi which you might need because my reception wasn't great underground. You pay using one of those hand-held electronic card readers which have become super popular. This may be a pet peeve of mine but I like to see an itemized receipt before I give you my credit card. Food (N/A): I don't think they have food, but if you're hungry, The Whining Pig is attached to Pigtails and they have food there. All it takes is a short walk down a hallway to get there. Drinks (4.5/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm not trying to see a margarita, mojito, gin & tonic, etc. I'm trying to see creative crack cocktails that blend an interesting group of ingredients. And this is what you'll find here. Despite several cocktails not being available, there was a ton on the menu that I wanted to try. I had three cocktails on this visit including Panic at the Disco (IYKYK), and one that was served in a clear tea cup with a huge ice cube (and earl gray tea was one of the ingredients). Exactly what I was hoping for. While the "Pigtails" signage outside of the speakeasy was disappointing, these rest of the experience was terrific.

The place is small and intimate, so a great place to grab a drink while staying at the hotel. I've been here a couple of times and have experienced mostly great service. The bartenders are always amazing and offer great recommendations, but the greeter getting you seated can be a little hit or miss. Overall, it's worth the visit if you're staying at the hotel and you want a nice cocktail.

The speakeasy itself is small, cute, and cozy, with a very dark, intimate interior that instantly sets the mood. We commented that it would be an excellent spot for a date night. The bartender was especially impressive. She was very knowledgeable and attentive. He took the time to create a custom drink for my friend, and she absolutely loved it. I ordered an espresso martini made with rum, which was interesting and different from the usual vodka version. We didn't order food this time since we stopped in before our dinner reservation elsewhere, but other tables had food that looked great. I'd love to come back specifically to try their food along with more cocktails. Overall, a great little speakeasy with solid drinks, great service, and a cozy vibe. I'd definitely return.
