What I do is not for everyone, it's definitely a calling, and I can't believe it's how I make a living. Birth Choice send people out to clinics and other places around the area to stop and harass those who are trying to get birth control or other services from clinics and other doctors offices. They assume that everyone who enters a doctors office is making a choice to not give birth, so they stop everyone and try to give them literature and talk with them about making the "right choice" or the choice that they feel is right. Today I left the doctors, I am over 40 with 5 kids, and went to get my annual exam. I was stopped by this group. When I called birth choice they claimed the people standing outside the buildings with the giant "Birth choice temecula" signs do not belong to them. That someone must have taken those signs and stood outside. It doesn't bother me and I entered the building, but I can see many teenagers who might be trying to prevent pregnancy, may go without birth control for fear or embarrassment from the birth choice people standing outside. The very kids they want to teach about choice, they are preventing from having the choice to prevent unwanted pregnancy. When I asked the representative about this, she said these teenagers should choose "abstinence" . How is this a choice? They want only their choice? Abstinence, or as the representative told me, if they do have sex then "Adoption is always a choice" They are not just working for at risk teens, they are trying to convert everyone to their beliefs. I believe we all have the freedom to believe any side, either pro-choice or pro-life. But to stop others from obtaining birth control, pap smears, and other health services that is just wrong. I am a married woman with 5 kids, and this is just wrong. Just an update: The owners daughter contacted me and said that Yes, they have people who go out to clinics... but they are only going to pray with the women who are entering the buildings. They are not "harassing" them. So I apologize for calling it harassment. ( I guess the giant dead baby signs was just a way to ask someone to pray with them) They are really just wanting to pray with you, they are not stopping anyone to be harassing. It is all in love. And she also called me a "Liar", in the same sentence that she admitted that they go to the clinics. So I guess I am a liar...... I am surprised that an organization about helping others and based off giving would call people names. Makes me feel confident about a business that calls themself Christian and calls others Liars at the same time. You know they are not judging. I think Birth Choice is a great group for those who are choosing to have a baby. And if you have baby items to donate to a women in need, this would be a great place. I do not want to put a negative on all the positive activities that they do. I just wish they could focus on being positive and spreading a message of being there for those who need help, instead of trying to force their opinions on others. If they could focus on the positive I am sure many more people would give and be there to support them, but most people do not want to support stopping people and asking them to "pray" together with a giant sign about dead babies. read more

Upon being educated by one of th counselors at Birth Choice, I was able to make a well thought out decision. The facility offers many amazing things for the community & guidance for young women, like me, just looking for some answers. I was once a patient at this clinic. Not only did I feel safe and loved there, I also knew I would get the help I needed. I didn't end up being pregnant when I took their free pregnancy test, but they still discussed the options a person has if they are pregnant and also how to avoid STD's. This loving staff is trying to help people. They will give people, whether they are financially unstable or facing an unplanned pregnancy, many free items. These items include diapers, formula, baby clothing, maternity clothing, and much more. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is facing an unplanned pregnancy, or just needs help taking care of their young ones, if they are under the age of 2. They are pro-life and nondenominational Christians, but they are not "Bible thumper's" by any means. read more

Birth Choice does not send people out to places like Family Planning Associates. People who go to places like FPA with Birth Choice literature/pamphlets, do so to present women with the choice for life regarding their preborn child. FPA clinics have been around for more than twenty years, and their primary, money-making actions center around abortion. The Temecula FPA refers women to other locations for surgical abortions. On Wednesdays, a nurse practitioner comes to the Temecula FPA and dispenses the RU-486, chemical abortion regimen for expectant mothers in their first trimester. Make no mistake, the chemicals/drugs given these women will kill their preborn child. The expectant mothers must see the miscarried remains of their preborn little human, usually at home. Women who are four to six weeks pregnant and have a natural miscarriage, not induced by powerful chemical agents, lament the loss of their babies. Is the worth and value of the preborn human determined by the desires and wants of their pregnant mothers? Or do we say what science and biology teach us--that life in the womb has a heartbeat between 21 and 25 days and measurable brainwaves at 35-40 days. That preborn human has in fact the same 46 chromosomes in every cell of his/her body beginning at the moment of conception and continuing for the next nine months, until there are literally billions of those cells forming the newborn baby. All that has been added, since the moment of conception is time and nutrition. An institution like FPA, which takes the lives of these preborn humans with impunity, is not deserving of the patronage of any person who has respect for human life. This is why the volunteers are out front offering the choice of life (with Birthchoice pamphlets, etc.), to pregnant women entering the FPA clinic. All the services that FPA offers, that do not take a human life, can be found at other medical establishments or through MediCal services. An organization that makes most of its money (in all their various So. Calif. clinics) by taking innocent human lives, is not deserving of being patronized by women for normal female health care. That's why the volunteers are there--hoping to save preborn human lives and warn women of the potential damage they may incur from abortion--the emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual consequences are far reaching.
