After seeing 80 or so positive, 5 star reviews for Conklin Electrical on Google, I had high hopes…read more Todd Conklin is an incredibly charismatic fellow. Our relationship started out fine. Todd was very prompt in returning calls and gave me an affordable quote. However, all that changed very fast when I questioned the validity of his work. I believed that it did not meet National Electrical Code standards (NEC). Mr. Conklin was pressuring me to pay him immediately, however I wanted a third party to examine his work first and consider my concerns. A county inspector had issued a green tag - indicating the work was acceptable. Unfortunately, the inspector did not see all of Conklin's work since it was ongoing. I called the county and ask them to come out and re-inspect the work before it was connected to the SSVEC's power system. There was not an inspector available immediately to come out, so a county official called Mr. Conklin and asked him - what the problem was. (Mr. Fox, how are things in the hen house?) Of course, Mr. Conklin called me back and was quite irate. After some discussion he offered to "rip out" a device that lacked a critical component to make it code compliant. I agreed on the condition it was removed and not ripped ;-) The remainder of the installation seemed to be going to plan. After utilities were hooked up, I flipped on a few light switches in the house and saw that the refrigerator was running. I went out and paid Mr. Conklin. A few hours later when I turned on the lights in other rooms, the bulbs blew. I went to plug in a power strip to my computer and it popped and smoked before the prongs could be inserted all the way into the receptacle. Feeling suspicious, I checked the voltage of a number of outlets and discovered it was roughly twice what it should have been. Long story short, two of three supply wires to the house were swapped (likely accidentally). Mr. Conklin refused to admit to any errors or wrongdoing. I brought my case before the Cochise County small claims court. It was presented before an arbitrator to keep court expenses low. The arbitrator ruled in my favor. Mr. Conklin appealed. The case was presented before a judge. The judge ALSO ruled in my favor. The case may not be appealed. To this day, Mr. Conklin has not complied with the judge's decision. I had Mose run a 240V service to my carport and install a level 2 charger for my Plugin Hybrid. He…read more(and his co-worker) did the installation carefully and professionally and cleaned up everything afterwards. He stuck around to ensure that the charging of my car proceeded correctly. All at a reasonable cost also. A year later, the charger malfunctioned and the manufacturer acknowledged the problem and sent me a replacement unit. I called to have the new unit installed in place of the old unit and Mose came out again to do the work. What we thought would be a quick 30 minute replacement turned into a two hour job because the manufacturer made revisions to the unit that required re-drilling new mounting holes and slightly different wire dress. Mose did the work without complaint and once again did his usual due diligence to ensure my satisfaction. After the replacement I realized that I had forgotten to tell him about a configuration switch position change that was required, I quick call and he came back out (at no additional charge) to make the change. I'd trust Mose and Antelope Run for all of my home electrical work in the future.
