Off the chain delicious! Wonderful people that work there! I literally cannot say enough about how much I love eating here! The only thing I do not like is how much everyone else loves it! That means sometimes I have to wait! However. The good thing about the wait is how (since I'm alone) I like to invite other folks to sit with me and share my table so they won't have to wait. This is a small establishment, a little hole in the wall next to a convenient store. From the outside you may want to pass it up but Do Not! The owner was so kind and very gracious to all the guest. We were visiting the Golden Nugget Casino and decided to have a nice breakfast. We are from Texas and after reading the positive reviews, we decided to take a chance. A short ride later, we found this hole in the wall, my experience is not to judge a book by its cover. We ordered the pancakes and chicken wings. The meal was very good and I enjoyed the robust coffee. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. If we are ever in Lake Charles again, we will surely visit. read more

We were driving through town and looking for a place to eat breakfast. The reviews of this place is what brought us in. Unfortunately, our experience was horrible. Based on the reviews, we were prepared for a small wait. However, when we got there, there was one open table in the back, The waitress was friendly, but I was disappointed to find out that they had nothing but bottled and canned drinks. When I pay for a meal, I like to drink out of a cup or glass. That was really the least of it, though. The table we were seated at had speakers for the entire restaurant right behind us, so the music was too loud for my husband and I to comfortably have a conversation while we sat. We both kept asking each other to repeat ourselves. Again, just a small irritation. We ordered our food, and it was over 55 minutes later that we finally received it. At one point, we heard the waitress tell a couple that had just been seated that they were not allowed to take orders for 20 minutes because the kitchen was backed up and needed to replenish materials. We had been waiting 30 minutes at that point, so my husband asked if that was what was causing the delay on our food. If she had told us that our food was going to take a while longer, we probably would have canceled our order and called it a loss. Instead, the waitress told us that our order was already being prepared, so we stayed and continued to wait. Part of our order was brought out at the 55 minute mark, and the other part of it was brought out a few minutes later: the bacon was cold but flavorful; the hashbrowns were over cooked potatoes with no flavor; the pancakes were tasty; and the eggs were sparse (definitely not 2 eggs as listed in the menu). Unfortunately, the pork chops that my husband ordered upset his stomach terribly. Overall, the food was not very good. If we had to wait almost an hour for our food to be served, and it was delicious we could have lived with it. read more

Can't believe we often drove past this place and never knew it was there. A little dive joint in what is considered "the wrong side of the tracks," which is also just a few blocks from our shipyard and Well, if this is the wrong side I don't want to be right! Great atmosphere, gospel music played the morning we went, we were warmly greeted and our drink order taken right away. Everything on the menu looks great and I finally settled on the biscuits and salmon croquettes. So very tasty. The jams were really amazing and it's hard to choose a favorite.
