Very friendly & welcoming! Clean & neat diner-type restaurant. This was a nice stop for lunch while traveling from the Houston area.

My husband had the crawfish baked potato, while I went with the fish. We both got a side of red beans and rice, and it was absolutely delicious.

My family and I came here for my Mom's birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was rich and very flavorful! Portions were also good for the price. The line was a pretty long when we got there but the workers were very efficient, so the line went by fast! The decor, smells, and sounds really made it feel like a true Cajun restaurant! I recommend stopping by if you have the chance!

I've reviewed this restaurant before with regard to their excellent homestyle cooking but I accidentally left off that they have the best cracklin my husband has ever had. He's that person that has been on a quest for the best!!A connoisseur of sorts! highly recommend stopping by if this is your snack of choice. It's a must do whenever we come into town from Houston, Texas.

Wow. 6/5. If you're in the area and looking for authentic, slap ya momma good Cajun food. This place is it. You can tell the recipes have been passed down from generations so you know it'll be good. Inside it's that old school dinner feel which adds to your experience. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!

So it says no substations on everything. Does that mean you can't have your food the way you want it? Their way or the highway?

Melissa, we don't allow substitutions on the Waitr delivery. But you can definitely substitute and have it your way if you call in and pick up. Thank you for your patronage.

The atmosphere in the restaurant and the food had me feeling all the nostalgic vibes of growing up eating my maw-maw's good down home cooking. The whole staff was kind and welcoming, our waitress was ShaDay and she was so kind and attentive. You can tell the staff all genuinely care about the quality of their food and their customers' experiences at their restaurant. The food was phenomenal and worth every penny. My husband had the fried pork chop breakfast which also came with cheesy grits, country potatoes, a biscuit and diner's choice eggs; he chose over easy eggs. Every single thing on his plate had great flavor! We taste tested each other's plates, and we both agreed that there wasn't a single bite that left us disappointed. I felt my soul leave my body when I dipped a piece of that homemade biscuit in the owner's homemade strawberry jam! ShaDay told us that the owner makes all the jams herself and rotates the flavors out periodically. The owner deserves an award for those jams because my husband licked those little ramekins clean; it was that good. I'm grateful ShaDay brought us another jam too, so I could also enjoy the jam with my food; that's how quick he finished off his jam. I had the F Biscuit which was just as flavorful and delicious. The F Biscuit is a breakfast sandwich where they dip the biscuits in French toast batter then grill it before putting the sandwich altogether with fried eggs, cheese, bourbon bacon onion jam, and a sausage link (or substitute for chicken, which I did and it was a great choice.) Every bite was flavorful, and the jam was also an out of this world enhancement to the French toast biscuit as well. Biscuits & Jamz is a 5-star experience all the way around, from the staff, to the food, to the environment, to the pricing. The prices were very fair for the portions of food you get while still being very affordable. Don't walk. RUNNNNN to Biscuits & Jamz! You won't be disappointed!

The cinnamon roll was (I'm not kidding when I say this) THE BEST CINNAMON ROLL I have ever eaten!! For entrees we order the Souther Smother. So so so good!! The biscuit is fluffy and the gravy is out of this world. We also had the grits & grillades. OMG the meat is so tender, juicy, and packed full of flavor. This is definitely going on the date night list!…read more The Scene Villa Harlequin gives a more upscale, intimate dining experience - the vibe feels both classic and local at the same time. It's the kind of place you go for a nice dinner, date night, or when you just want to slow down and enjoy a full meal. The Eats We started with drinks - my husband had The Italiano, which was smooth and well-balanced, and I went with a Hedges Family Wine, which paired nicely with dinner. For the meal: My husband had a house salad and the pan-seared fish, which was cooked well and complemented by the kind of rich, flavorful sauces they're known for. I went with the wedge salad and the surf & turf, and listen...this is where they shine. The surf & turf is a standout - steak paired with seafood and a bold, flavorful sauce that leans into that fusion they're known for. Everything came out well-prepared, plated nicely, and felt like a complete dining experience rather than just a quick meal. The Service Service was attentive and polished without being overbearing. Drinks stayed filled, courses came out at a comfortable pace, and the staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. It matched the overall feel of the restaurant - thoughtful and consistent. Parting Thoughts Between the cocktails, the wine, and standout dishes like the surf & turf, it delivers a well-rounded experience. Definitely a solid choice for a nice night out in Lake Charles - and one I'd return to when I'm in the mood for something a little more elevated.

The grilled oysters were topped with chopped peppers and bacon bits - came out hot and the oysters were plump and big! Very very tasty! It was about 30$ for a dozen oysters - so quite affordable for the size of oysters. Great bite and starter. I ordered the Atchafalaya, which had fried catfish and crawfish etouffee gravy smothered on top. The rice was a bit underdone which made the over taste of the dish not as cohesive. The crawfish pieces were abundant, but slightly mushy. The sweet potato fried side dish that came with the dish was perfect though - soft interior and slightly crisp exterior. The portion size was huge and I wasn't able to finish the dish. I'd definitely recommend trying the oysters on the menu, and next time, I'll need to try the fresh oysters!
