Unbelievable service from Heather, Annie, and Maggie. They have poured their blood, sweat and tears into this place, and it shows in the rave reviews from their guests. My friend's quite unconventional wedding was held here recently, and we invaded the place for a long weekend. It poured rain, there was family drama, dog drama, last-minute horror with a 12-page checklist of things that we forgot we needed to do, but through it all, the Salter women prevailed with a smile and a "Let's get it done" attitude. For that, I am eternally grateful. The wedding was held in the newly renovated barn. When the doors are flung open and those stunning chandeliers are revealed, you WILL gasp with awe. My (brand new) husband and I first visited Bishop Farm for Valentine's Day weekend in 2009. Since then we have been back for special occasions or weekend get-aways and each trip is even better than the last. We got married at Bishop Farm and it was the best time of my life. We had a lot of choices of where we wanted to get married and we are SOOOOO happy we chose Bishop Farm. There are so many reasons why our wedding was so amazing and many of those reasons are because of Maggie, Annie and Heather Salter. The care and dedication they put into running this B&B is so evident the moment you arrive. They did everything possible to make the weekend and the wedding go off without a hitch and the success of our wedding was in LARGE part due to them. They are three spectacular women! Every single one of our guests, both those who stayed the weekend with us at Bishop Farm and those who did not, commented on how amazing the place was and how friendly the people are. We rented out the entire place for the weekend and it was such a blessing to see our friends and family enjoy Bishop Farm as much as we did. Maggie, Annie and Heather have a way of making you feel right at home and part of the family...they are two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. There is so much I could say about Bishop Farm..how beautiful and cozy each room is, the beauty of it's location is second to none, the breakfasts are out of this world, the kindness of Annie and Maggie is heartwarming...but all I really need to say is Bishop Farm is heaven on earth! :) I'll never be able to really put into words how much my husband and I love Bishop Farm and how special it is to us. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all upcountry, and be pampered for a day or two, this is one of the best places I visited all year. I went to do some genealogy in the area, and stayed here just one night. We stayed on the third floor in the Liberty Room. It was so beautifully and simply decorated, tranquil and the rooms each have a clawfoot tub tucked in a corner with a little cup of lavender bath salts and fresh towels. It happened to be a very warm, spring night requiring a fan in the window (though the rooms have ac, I preferred a fan). After a day of cemetery walking, records searching and driving, Annie drew us a map to a nearby restaurant, when we returned she plied us with a glass of wine, and then I poured a hot bath, turned out the lights and sank into bliss to the sound of fan and crickets. The linens are immaculate and crisp, white. Annie will seem comfortingly familiar as your host even if you've never met her before, and will pamper you almost to death with her breakfast-conjuring from what I remember from May, yogurt with fresh strawberries and blueberries, homefries, omelet with green and red peppers, Vermont sausage, toast, mimosas, french roast coffee, jazz on the Sirius, and digesting on the porch in the sunlight by the windchime. I think there are newly-restored cabins on the property, as well, but the main house has a very nice living room and fire place to cozy by. Excellent getaway in the north country. Looking forward to returning for a few nights after the holidays are over to decompress. read more

My husband and I stayed at Bishop Farm for one night, for our 1st anniversary this past weekend. We chose Bishop Farm because we wanted to get away, but didnt want to rough it. The farm is gorgeous. Well taken care of and clean. Our room was absolutely gorgeous - a shade of robins egg blue woth crisp white bed linens and antique white furniture. Also, we had a really cool claw foot tub in the room which I took full advantage of. The innkeepers were the BEST! Very sociable and sweet, catered to our every need. We met a bunch of other couples, young and old staying at the farm that also raved about it. We sat on the big front porch after dinner and had a few glasses of wine, overlooking the mountains - and we also went on a cocktail stroll on their "Cocktail Trail" that wraps around the property, which is very well maintained complete with chickens! Breakfast was an absolute dream. We came down around 9am and sat at a big table family style with our new friends that were staying there also. Breakfast was homecooked to perfection. Even the table was set so nicely and in total traditional breakfast manner. We will be back at Bishop Farm next year for sure!!! read more

The Salter ladies, Maggie Heather and Annie, helped us create a once in a lifetime event and memories we will cherish forever. The groom, Peter, and bride, Nicki, found BF in the dead of winter and were immediately able to see that it would be the perfect spot for their destination wedding in July. Family and wedding party took over the inn and cottages starting on Thursday and from the moment we arrived and began setting up, Annie and Heather attended to every detail. Plus they are just fun and interesting people!! And Maggie's breakfasts are the best. We could not have asked for a more accommodating team to work with. The new fire pit area at the back of the property had just been completed and it was a great space to gather post rehearsal dinner and of course after the reception for the making of s'mores. During the ceremony and reception, everything ran seamlessly. Heather and Annie were present to attend to every detail --- moving flowers from the birch arbor down to the barn, etc. And there couldn't be a better place to present the new Mr. and Mrs. than in that barn doorway with the curtains pulled back. Heather, Annie and their mom are wonderful and they go above and beyond in so many ways to make sure your special day is just that - special. They are so well organized and help you every step of the way from the time you book up to and through your event. As for the venue itself - there are options for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and both are simply wonderful. The attention to detail around the farm is evident in so many ways from the beautiful, warm and intimate chapel, to the stunning reception area in the barn to the cozy, bright, cheerful and well appointed on site cabins. Even though it rained during my stepdaughters ceremony everything went off without a hitch thanks to the care and planning on the part of the Salter family. We simply cannot say enough about Bishop Farm. The Salter family, who own and operate the farm are incredible, delightful, kind, welcoming, energetic and truly phenomenal at what they do. The grounds are simply gorgeous. The 1876 reception barn is stunning in it's simplicity. Inside the barn the chandeliers and voile curtains billowing in the doorway are what wedding dreams are made of. There is a wooded switchback stairway across the lawn that looks as though you're being transported to a woodland oasis. When you reach the top, the trees open up to a sunny meadow, perfect for an outdoor ceremony . Though the days leading up to our wedding forcasted thunderstorms for our big day. To be on the safe side, we chose to have the ceremony in the newly finished Ceremony barn across the lawn from the reception barn. It sounds like Plan B, but I assure you it wasn't. When we walked into the ceremony barn, the air changed and the lighting was pure magic. The family's newly procured antique church pews and giant stained glass windows gave it an ethereal quality, while the crooked barn slats made the sunlight dance across the floor. It was like something out of a movie. Aside from the unmatched rustic beauty of Bishop Farm, the Salters are the cherry on top. From the moment we got to the farm they made us feel like part of the family, helping us with everything from set-up, to directions to town, to making us a spectacular breakfast each morning of our stay. Eager to assist, and not just with the wedding tasks (Annie even fixed my new sister-in-law's sun glasses). It never felt forced, or out of obligation, simply genuine kindness and unmatched hospitality. If you're looking for the perfect New England wedding venue, check them out first. My boyfriend and I spent last weekend at Bishop Farm B&B, and it was super perfect! Annie and Maggie worked really hard to make sure everyone was welcome and completely comfortable at all times. 6 stars! This is the best B&B I've stayed in on all of my vacations, I was beyond impressed. Annie, the owner is so sweet she makes you feel at home right away. I stayed in both the farmhouse (main B&B) and one of the cottages. The layout of the area is great, the farmhouse is on the left once you drive in and the different cottages are located off to the right. There is a little farm on site which has a chicken coupe with many chickens and chicks. They produce fresh eggs everyday for breakfast and Annie lets you purchase them (in dozens) for very cheap. We got a tour of the beautifully decorated farmhouse. The entire place is extremely clean, and the decoration is exclusively detail oriented, I loved all of it. For breakfast, if you are staying in the cottage, there is a basket of bread (so yummy) and other breakfast items (the banana bread is heavenly!). If you are staying in the main house, you get to taste homemade cooking from Maggie. We had delicious egg spinach quiche and everyone's table is set with a different type of flower or plant. The exquisitely details and attentiveness is amazing! Annie was also very helpful when we asked her about nearby hiking trails, she even looked it up on the internet for us and printed out directions. I would recommend this to anyone who's taking a trip up to Vermont/New Hampshire area. The best B&B with delightful hosts. read more

This place is fantastic. From the comfortable rooms, to the proximity to great outdoors activities in the White Mountains to the service from Annie & Maggie, I was blown away in my first visit in 2012. I've been here twice with the lady, and we've both loved it. Annie & Maggie are fantastic hosts--extremely friendly and very helpful. The grounds are beautiful: there is a fun horseshoe pit, a fire pit, and several nice tree swings. Bring from Boston, it is the perfect place to get away from city-living and to relax, see some stars and get some delicious farm-fresh eggs in the morning! It also doesn't hurt that it's extremely simple to get to--it's one road off of 93. read more

A Pinterest search of New England barn weddings led our daughter and son-in-law on a wedding journey they thought could only exist in their dreams. Soon after their engagement, our daughter Kim asked us to travel from Long Island, NY all the way into the White Mountains of New Hampshire to visit this place she fell in love with on Pinterest. We ventured through the mountains and into the valley and into Lisbon where we were welcomed at Bishop Farm by Heather, Annie and Maggie. It wasn't long before we were touring the venue and feeling right at home! We were sold...on the place, and more importantly, the hosts! The rustic elegance of the ceremony and reception barns...the stained glass windows between which they would exchange vows, the expansive lawn, mini game room, featuring skee-ball and table soccer, bridal suite, cottages and quaint inn all drew us in. We all knew this would be the perfect venue for Kim and Bobby's wedding. It proved to be just that!!! From the moment we arrived on the Thursday prior to the wedding to check out the day after, we felt like we were right at home. Heather, Annie and Maggie were accommodating, providing guidance, and orchestrating all preparations to ensure an amazing celebration. They worked tirelessly to make sure that every detail was checked and double checked to keep us all on schedule. Event planning is in their blood! They were ALWAYS available, willing and able to meet our needs without hesitation. Even our guests got to know them as they are always visible and engaging! It was hard to believe that the venue could be more beautiful than when we toured last August...but, with the addition of wedding flowers, outdoor lighting, and decorations adorning the barn...it became a magical place. The ceremony barn, filled with family and friends, felt intimate and the late afternoon light cast the most beautiful glow within the space. The expansive lawn served to provide places to gather, play corn hole, swing, or just socialize. Of course, the reception barn looked amazing with its chandeliers and subtle lighting. Throughout the night, Heather, Annie and Maggie...as well as the friendly, funny and capable bartenders made sure that a good time was had by all. "Best wedding ever," was heard over and over again as the night went on and into the days that followed. We couldn't be more grateful to Heather, Annie and Maggie for making our stay so incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. Staying on-site was an added convenience, especially with our delicious wedding day breakfast lovingly prepared by Maggie included. It was difficult to say good-bye when the weekend was over. We felt as though we were leaving family. Weddings can be an extremely stressful project...but not at Bishop Farm. My partner Jeffrey and I were looking for a nice place to stay close to the Alpine Adventures zip lines, and after researching about 25 places, we chose Bishop Farm, and we're glad we did! The family that owns and operates this property made us feel welcome within minutes of arriving. Heather, Annie, Maggie, Danny, are just wonderful people. We stayed in Franconia Notch Cottage, and it was everything we wanted, and more. The cabin is over 100 years old, and has been completely redone. It had nice neutral colors, a very comfortable bed, and it was quiet. Maggie made us the most delicious breakfast every morning. The grounds are just spectacular! There are flowers everywhere. We saw rabbits, hummingbirds, a variety of birds, and picked raspberry's in the pasture. We just love this place, and are looking forward to coming back soon. Lovely venue, amazing owners, memorable weekend... Our wedding weekend at Bishop Farm on the 13th-14th of June was truly outstanding and exceeded all of our expectations. We used the facilities for the entire weekend, with guests on the spacious deck for the welcome dinner and pre-reception cocktail hour, in front of the milk barn for the ceremony, and in the spectacular barn for the wedding reception. We also filled all the cabins and rooms at the inn with out-of-town guests and family. The accommodations were so comfortable (everyone raved about the beds) and well-appointed - each room/cabin had a unique feel or feature. From the initial point of contact through the end of the actual wedding weekend, the Salter ladies made us feel like part of the family. Heather, Annie and Maggie were personable, professional, receptive, flexible and incredibly hard-working. They offered a list of vendors in the area, scheduled periodic check-ins to ensure that our planning was on track, and answered one question after another with a receptive and friendly spirit. We arrived ahead of the weekend to begin decorating the barn and grounds, and the Salter ladies were right there with us, pitching in, making suggestions, finding unique and useful items for us to use from the lending closet, and making us laugh! They climbed ladders, hung lights, hauled furniture, and responded immediately to even the slightest suggestion from us. A simple "could we? or I wonder if..." would prompt a full scale effort to make each thought into reality with remarkable results, time after time. Heather's instincts for staging and her eye for decorating, Annie's tireless efforts to groom each setting to perfection, and Maggie's well-timed help and smiling support (not to mention, delicious food) eliminated stress and made us feel that we were in very capable hands. Our guests had a wonderful time, and so did we. Many of our friends and family called it "the best wedding ever", "the happiest of times", and simply "awesome". As in many of life's big events, the "devil is in the details" - luckily for us, the Salter angels were there to handle the details for us... Words can't even explain how truly magical this place is. This venue is a piece of heaven with rustic charm and elegance, but such a laid back atmosphere at the same time. This was the first and only venue we looked at. The grounds are like something out of a post card and the ceremony/reception barn will leave you speechless. From the moment we booked the Salter family made us feel like we were part of their family. Heather, Annie, Maggie and Dan were all so amazing from the moment we arrived to the goodbye tears as we were leaving. The farm has 6 cottages that lead to an amazing fire pit surrounded with bench swings. That's not all! The farmhouse/B&B has 7 rooms and so many common areas so you and your family/bridal party can enjoy the entire weekend together! Everything was very easy once we booked. They have so many great recommended vendors and a timeline to go by that made our planning so easy and stress free. It honestly felt like we had known all of our vendors for years! Everything about the wedding was so perfect. The Salter family literally took care of everything; I was not stressed one bit. They even gave me a walkie talkie to keep me updated on everything while I was getting hair and make up done! The moment the ceremony started the entire night was a dream. Our guests were blown away and kept asking us how we found this place?! Everything came together so perfectly. As bittersweet as it was for it to end, we wouldn't change one thing about the entire weekend. My husband and I found Bishop Farm Bed and Breakfast online and from the first conversation I knew it was the place for us! Annie, who runs the B&B, are a firecracker and a ball of positive energy, she and her mom, Maggie, were not only willing but excited to be working with us to make our wedding special. They were flexible with everything we requested and the place felt like home. It offers 13 rooms including cottages so 25 family members got to stay with us on the farm. Sarah, the wedding coordinator was a perfect fit, she was happy and ready to help in every way possible. I would of been a mess the day of my wedding but she took on everything, I was happy, and the day turned out perfect. I cannot say enough kind things about these people and venue. Our entire weekend was magical. It started with customized lighting, BBQ & friends, to a beautiful ceremony, crazy party till 3 a.m, and a movie outdoors Sunday night to relax.
