She looked so confused like I had just asked her to solve a math equation. At first she said huh I've never heard of that before, I don't think I can do that and I explained to her that I just would like it cut in half and toasted in that toaster. She then said she could do that (yeah it's not that hard...) and ten minutes later (yes it took forever to get our order) she came over and brought it to me and announced out loud to everyone "what a weird request" with such a judgemental look on her face. AND she didn't even cut it and toast it! It was still whole and barely luke warm which means she probably just stuck it in the microwave for ten seconds... After reading that, it probably won't shock you to learn that I have high blood sugar. The thing about a steak sandwich is that it's really important to get the peppers and onions just right. I don't know how to do it, which makes it tough to explain it, but you have to cook them each the exact right amount so that they each pick up a little bit of the taste from each other, but not so long that they turn into one homogeneous mush. The cheesesteak from Shawnniecakes had perfectly cooked peppers and onions! It also had a very good bun, and a generous portion of steak. My wife got a few things (breakfast scramble, potato salad, baked mac, and molasses cookie), at least one of which was for one of our kids. She said they were all excellent. I believe her favorite item was the molasses cookie, but I know she said everything was very good. I guess I never mentioned how my toffee cookie was.
