One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in a while. It was HUGE. Could have easily split it and still been full. It comes with a delicious piece of cornbread and jam. Cute spot with plenty of outdoor seating and lots of shopping close by to check out while waiting for your food. This was a nice surprise on a road trip. I had a ham and cheese on croissant. Simple, but absolutely a smash hit. I really enjoyed it and it was enormous! My 2 dining companions had chicken salad. One had it on toast and one had it on a croissant, both loved it. The service was order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The owner was running around bussing tables and checking in with guests. The location is basically a house. It was a good dining experience and it was a nice clean place along with a clean well-maintained bathroom. Definitely a must try for lunch! read more

This diner has a cheery barn/farmhouse ambiance that's perfect for breakfast or brunch. I had the Santa Fe Breakfast Burrito which is easily big enough to share. It's stuffed with eggs and chorizo. On its own it could use a dash of heat. After grabbing some hot sauce from the condiment table it was perfect. The cornbread with jalapeño berry could also have used more heat, but the cornbread is moist and delicious. During noon rush parking is scarce but find-able and in warm weather the outdoor seating is lovely. The service was fast for as busy as they were and very friendly. read more

Did lunch on a nice sunny day and were able to sit outside which was really nice. Place was pretty busy but service was quick. I did the Reuben sandwich with coleslaw (which is mayo-based but very light) and it may have been the best Reuben I've ever had. Perfect ratio of bread to meat to kraut to 1000 island and I will definitely have that again next time we are in town. Owner is also very involved and polite, came out to check on us. This place is truly such a gem... I've been a few times with family and have had a fantastic experience each and every time! First, the food is fantastic. This is one of the best places to get breakfast/brunch fare in the Corridor. My favorites are the flavorful scrambles and the decadent brioche French toast! Second, the coffee drinks are delicious. The strength of the espresso is perfect and the "fancy" drinks have just the right amount of sweetness. Third, the atmosphere! The diner itself is very home-y and cozy with a great "neighborhood gathering place" feel. Friendly staff and locals make this place's energy just plain fun! Fourth, the shop! Wow, what they have done with the surrounding area of the diner is truly exemplary! I love visiting the adorable little stand-alone shops after my meal! I went to checkout West End (a Marion Cafe/breakfast spot) for breakfast. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito served with cornbread and honey, along with a Screwdriver drink to start the morning off. Quaint yet modern! Love this new cafe in Marion and cannot wait to visit on a Saturday morning for breakfast and coffee! Today we stopped for lunch. The special was meatloaf, potato salad, beans, and a dessert for less than $8. My mom opted for this and loved it! I did half a salad (Greek) and sandwich (French dip) for about $8 as well. Mine was very delicious as well, but I wish I got a little bit larger of a serving of salad... it was a very small amount. Overall, great new place in Marion! Cannot wait to sit outside in the summer on the patio! Update: tried West Side diner out for Saturday brunch - loved sitting on the patio and enjoying coffee with a delicious breakfast! While waiting to order the "order area" was a little chaotic - people crowding around each other and servers trying to go in and out of the door... almost too tight of a space to do ordering. The mood here was very cheerful and inviting. I loved the atmosphere and especially the patio seating. When you get here you go in what actually looks like the back door. There are signs to tell you to come in there but we missed it as did the people in front of us. You order inside at a counter space with a too small area to wait your turn. The menu is on the wall and I need to get my eye prescription updated because it was very small to read while you wait. 6 of us ordered in groups of 2 and 4. Our food arrived in random order. In the time it took for everyone to be served, four of us were already done eating. We had to ask for about 1/2 of the food. Our drinks didn't come at all until we asked about them. The food was great! The coffee drinks were unremarkable. The Bloody Mary was good and we'd have ordered more if we had been served one earlier. The food and the patio would bring us back if the service were better. I'd highly suggest that it is time to move from an order counter to table service. read more

West End opened earlier this month and my wife and I couldn't be happier, as we have been yearning for a brunch place in Marion that is open on Sundays! Our thoughts from our first time in this Sunday: 1.) The atmosphere is comfortable. Converted from an old house, the original wood floors and nice big windows are extraordinarily pleasant on a chilly fall day; 2.) The coffee and latte selection is very good. My wife and I both had Chai Lattes, which had good flavor and nice creaminess; 3.) The food was tasty. We both had their breakfast burritos with some corn bread on the side. It was plenty of food, and was prepared with high quality ingredients. Although, we appreciate the use of compostable materials, it was a little odd to receive the food in to-go containers while dining in; 4.) The staff and the owner are very nice. As soon as we walked in and were politely greeted by the barista, we felt well taken care of. We also chatted with the owner a bit, who was very personable and talked with us about her vision for the cafe diner, and what she was thinking going forward after having been open for just a few weeks now. In addition to being a great brunch spot, we already can't wait for next summer when their outdoor patio space will be open! They developed a great outdoor seating area where they are planning to serve beer and wine. They also do lunch, and I can't wait to swing in to try that as well! So, if you couldn't tell, I am pretty pumped to have West End in Marion, and if you haven't been by already, I highly recommend stopping in to check these folks out! read more

We stopped for lunch with a friend from Iowa City last week and we're pleasantly surprised with EVERYTHING. The food is creative, fresh and delishious. We chose to eat indoors which is cozy yet hip and air conditioned on a warm summer day. Outdoors was friendly with umbrella tables and 3 or 4 unique pop-up shops. Such a cute and clean new option in Marion. My friend and I met for lunch and I brought my five year old. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. My daughter had the mac & cheese and a cookie. Real macaroni and cheese, from scratch. It was creamy, cheesy and delicious. The noodles were firm and not mushy. She had a Christmas frosted cookie and gobbled it up quickly. The chocolate milk was made from syrup, which my daughter prefers. I had the chicken salad on grilled sourdough and chips. The chicken salad was good and had a bit of golden raisins in it. The iced tea was fresh and even though was unflavored, had a bright crisp taste. My friend liked her lunch as well she tried grilled cheese and tomato soup. The restaurant recycles and serves on eco friendly cartons. I will most definitely be coming back. read more
