I have tried dozens of times with this place that also calls themselves "Hatch House". If you are going to call yourself "HATCH HOUSE" you might want to teach your staff how to properly cook an egg. They overcook the eggs every time. Lightly scrambled doesn't exist along with over easy. I have tried to tell them how I like my eggs cooked to no avail. Recently they mocked me in SPANISH because I pointed out that the over easy egg I requested was on the skittle too long. Guess they don't know a fluent Puerto Rican when they see one. They charge random prices for their sandwiches. I ordered a pepperoni sandwich and it was probably five pieces that was all in the middle so the dudes didn't have any meat. Unsure why there are so many negative reviews. This place was A-ok to me! I needed something quick and easy for lunch today and I was in a time crunch. On my walk back to work from rockefeller, I saw this place pop up in my Ritual app and was offering a deal. I'm a sucker for lunch that doesn't break the bank so I figured I'd try it out. Ordered ahead and paid $6 for a gigantic veggie burrito that was flavorful and filling. I got tomatoes, lettuce, pico de Gallo, cheddar and pepper jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole, Mexican rice, black beans, mixed veggies (mushrooms/peppers/jalapeño), and a mild salsa on a sundries tomato tortilla. I mean c'mon! That's an awesome price for all that stuffing. My only complaint was that some of the peppers were cut in huge chunks which made it awkward to eat and I wasn't expecting jalapeños so it was a little spicy for me. I'd go back here! read more

I had a craving for breakfast food, and someone recommended this place. I came and checked them out, and their breakfast food is to die for. It is soooo yummy. I love their omelets and home fries. Their home fries are nice, soft and hot. I don't like hard potatoes. I also came by to check out their lunch menu. There is a wide selection of soups, and it is simply delightful. Stopped in for soup on this rainy day. I ordered the shrimp lobster bisque and was surprised at how good it was. Piping hot which is exactly how soup should be. They offer bread or crackers with soup. I opted for crackers and was given 7 packs of saltines - hell yeah!! I also grabbed a bag of veggie straws and it all came to less than $7. I come here a lot because its very close to work and they make great omletes. The price is very reasonable. for $6 you get an omlete with 3 veggies and a meat with potatoes and toast! what a bargain for the expensive city we live in! The only thing is that the line can get a little long and the palce is not that big. If it's your first time here, you might caught yourself waiting in the wrong line because it can get confusing. Standard coffee and breakfast place in Midtown West. It's near where I work so I go here for breakfast a lot. Their coffee is pretty good (I always get iced), and reasonably priced ($2.50 for a large and $2.00 for a small), and they have a good selection of bagels and cream cheese (jalapeno!), and they have an egg/omelet station, where you can get eggs/meat in pretty much any combination you can think of. Found my replacement for the awful bread market. I go here almost everyday now even though it is a couple blocks from my office. i brave the elements rather than go to the place across the street. all because when i do, i am pleased with my breakfast. fresh yogurt bar where they make your parfait to order is awesome and the only place i've seen that does this. oatmeal bar. believe this.. when you order eggs, they crack them into a pan. this certainly adds a minute or two to your waiting time but so worth it imo. food is constantly good and prices are cheap. read more

Be careful when ordering sandwiches from this venue. The short Mexican with the round face and baseball cap who usually does the wrapping will look at you and decide how much your sandwich should cost. I have seen numerous people complain that the sandwich they bought today was $2 less yesterday and he will always have the sorriest excuse. I came in last week for breakfast, just wanted an egg sandwich with spinach. I didn't like that to make eggs they use a spray with a teflon pan (in a deli ?) and he handled bacon for someone else's breakfast sandwich before grabbing spinach for my sandwich. Yuck. Coffee was ok. Sandwich was edible deposit having to have bacon traces in my sandwitch. Read the other reviews and was sad to see that they change prices depending on the day and clientele. It is a bit out of my way and I am glad to go out of my way occasionally for a place I like but I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Yeah, this place sucks. Aside from the extremely rude and apathetic 'employees' - they will either give you attitude or a blank stare when you order something. And forget it if you are interrupting their important meal preparation activities - you will just end up waiting for a while. They do change their prices all the time, without notice or reason. At the omelete/egg station the menu says - homefries included. They usually run out by 9:30am,.... What? Really?.... and you have to always ask for them.... just seems like theyre always trying to cheap out. Anyway, its blatantly clear that they don't care about their clientele. They think that their convenience will get them through despite their mediocre food and atrocious service. Please, please, please send them a message by not going to this place. The line for Chop't was ridiculous so I decided to check out other options in this building and randomly found this place. Its right next door to Chop't and they offer the typical range of deli foods such as salads, rolls, soups etc. What's great about here is that the salad was only $8.50 and included one protein and UNLIMITED toppings.There's also a very large selection of toppings and everything seemed fresh and clean. They also have a small half size salad which you combine with a soup or half sized rolls/sandwiches etc which is great for those days when you can't decide what you want. read more

Lunch in midtown generally is 3 stars (updated and added a star for consistency and no charging extra for avocado on the salad). Nothing amazing, usually expensive, but we need to eat. Sandwiches go for 7.25 here and they have a ton of solid already made options, a few wraps and some pitas. You can opt for half for half the price. They are a standard deli so you can order any normal deli cold cuts, cooked items, cheese and veggies on a sandwich. There's also a standard nyc lunch time salad counter. Soup counter. And a taco station. I go here bc I work nearby. Theresa's is decent too but this is like 1-2 dollars cheaper. Oh solid made to order breakfast options for decent price too. read more

Several bad experiences at this joint, enough that now I'm ready to Yelp about it. The latest situation involved my lunch experience where I picked up an "unlimited" (in quotes b/c that's a whole other topic), topping medium sized salad which is about $8.50. So like other salad places, you start the assembly line with a self service pick your size salad type and bowl size (small medium large and choice of mixed greens or etc). I chose the medium mixed green bowl ($8.50) and handed it to guy behind the counter. I picked all my toppings (chicken and 6 vegetables...this is reasonable), asked the guy to chop it, and chose a dressing. The guy handed my salad back to me and I noticed he had somehow he had sneaked my salad contents into a large sized bowl ($10). This was obvious because the salad inside of the bowl only filled it up about half way. Sure enough when I went to pay they rang up $10. I told the girl behind the counter that it was a medium salad and she just responded with "I don't know, ask them," and looked at the salad guys 8 feet away. I went back to the salad guy, who either didn't speak too much English or really just didn't give a ****, and after asking 3 times in different ways, he rolled his eyes and put my salad back into the bowl I had originally selected (and it all fit with room to spare). Went back to the register and voila, an $8.50 salad. I've had so many issues with the pricing at this place that I'm fed up enough and have written it off (my weekly salad purchase will likely make a large dent in their bottom line....sarcasm). I have other stories about the constantly changing menu with regard to varying restrictions on "unlimited" such as nuts one week or an egg another week. Also, they don't even label the seasonings of their chicken choices (its really nice to have choices, but what are they?). Have I inspired anyone else to cut off this non-sense? read more
