We enjoyed trying authentic Italian cuisine at Balsamico Italian Kitchen in Imperial Beach, CA…read more The first time I had a taste of this restaurant was during a Yelp Elite Week event and so glad we finally had a chance to try it because everything we ordered was excellent 5/5 stars!! The owners are from Modena, Italy sharing their delicious recipes from back home. I had to do a little research on Modena because I had never heard of this city. It's north of Tuscany. Modena is a city in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage historic center, luxury car industry (Ferrari & Maserati), and world-renowned gastronomy, particularly traditional balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and Lambrusco wine. The restaurant provided complimentary bread with their homemade balsamic vinaigrette, which was excellent!! We recommend trying the following dishes: *Lobster Ravioli (MY FAVORITE) *Bolognese Lasagna *Mushroom Ravioli *Calamari Appetizer -w/restaurant made marinara The restaurant makes their own pasta. For dessert, we recommend trying their restaurant made: * Tiramisu *Crème brûlée (MY FAVORITE) The restaurant offers cooking classes for adults and children (6+) so be sure to check out their instagram page for workshop dates and times. There's indoor and outdoor seating with enough room for large groups. We had excellent customer service by server Jacob and are definitely coming back soon; check it out!! Happy Yelping :)

What a Vibe! From Craft Beers and Tomahawk Steaks to simple…read moresnacks and chips, If you can't find something here that you like, you're hopeless! And their BBQ selections should not be missed. Be aware that the prices throughout the complex are closer to the prices in Los Angeles. We decided to try this place due to the good reviews, but I have to say we were very disappointed…read more Good: * The choices and food very diverse. * The environment was OK. * The wine, selection and beer IPA sour beer was good. * Good aesthetics inside. * Valet parking. Bad: * Very, very hard to find a table. * The food prices are very expensive for the quality of mediocre food and drinks. * We only ordered six pieces of oysters and two shrimp tostadas. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. It took too long. * The Customer service while ordering food was so bad it seemed like they didn't even care about our order. * I feel bad for the waiters and waitresses delivering food because they were running around looking for the numbers on the table. I know that it can be very frustrating and chaotic. * Not a good place for large parties due to the very limited seating. * Not very children friendly, more for an adult environment. * But the worst of it was the parking, it was very bad and hard to find, you might have to park more than two blocks away to find any parking. Conclusions: we were very disappointed and not a good experience. Most likely we will not be coming back.

Mixed experiences with the food and hours I've visited this…read morespot three now to try to support a local business, but my experiences have been a bit of a mixed bag. * First Visit (The Pizza): I ordered two 12" pizzas--a Veggie and a Hawaiian. The toppings and overall build of the pizzas were okay, but the crust had a distinctly bitter aftertaste that felt a bit off. * Second & Third Visit (The Coffee Window): According to their pinned Instagram post, the window is open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. However, when I arrived at 10:30 AM in mid May, it was already closed. I tried one last time June 11 at 7:30 AM and again the coffee window was closed! Very disappointing when you make the trip specifically for the coffee! I love supporting small businesses, but consistency with both the food quality and the posted operating hours would definitely make for a better experience.
