The plate comes with a side salad and maduros- caramelized fried ripe bananas and white rice and black beans- generous portions of everything. 2. Arroz con pollo: chicken and rice exists in almost every culture, but the Cuban version is the one I would choose first any day. This was the boys fav. The dinner plate also comes with maduros and salad. 3. Papas rellenas- "potato balls" on the menu- stuffed mashed potato spheres with seasoned ground beef then lightly breaded and deep fried for a perfect crispy coat- excellent! They have 3 varieties and we tried the spicy chicken and the ground beef- both were delicious! 4. Croquetas: deep fried breaded ground ham rolls. Decadent and perfectly crispy outside and velvety inside. These were my hardest craving when I was pregnant. Love them! 5. Guava pastries- sweet with a little hint of tartness- wrapped in puff pastry. It was too late in the day for me to order coffee but I will have to make a cup of Bustelo tomorrow morning to go with these. We were too full to eat them today! 6. Iron Beer: our fav soda! Even sweeter than coke- shocking, lol! I also tried the kola champagna- a Puerto Rican staple but imo, IronBeer wins. Today's visit fell far short of my previous experiences. I always get the milk bread for my sandos. This time the bread seemed stale. My favorite sando was a spicy shrimp sando. They don't carry it anymore. So I tried their Coconut Curry Shrimp sando. First, I'm fairly sure I bit into a shrimp tail. Two, didn't like the coconut curry sauce. So sad. My daughter ordered the katsu curry plate. I didn't take a bit of her meal as I was trying to figure out what the heck happened with my sando experience. Drop that Coconut Curry and bring back the spicy shrimp.

Interior decor is super cute I loved, one of my favs was this board they have which is a basically you pay a coffee forward and you put the sticky there for the next person to get their drink. I totally don't work there so I would just reconfirm what can be redeemed. Drink: I get an iced dirty chai WITH banana cold foam. 10/10 must try. They also offer matcha for you matcha lovers. Grind house has found a new customer and yes, I've already brought so many friends here. My only suggestion would be to maybe have a phone charging station, that's all! :)

Today (10/24/24) I had a facial appointment at Bellus Academy, and had never been there before. As I was walking in the owner of this deli confronted me telling me not to park there and I let him know I had just been dropped off and wouldn't be taking up any of his parking and he continued "the car, the car" so persistently I had to just about yell at him that she left and we weren't parked there. Throughout my entire appointment I was thinking about how crazy he came at me and when I decided to mention it to the esthetician student doing my facial she mentioned she had ordered some tostilocos from him the day prior that came with apple on them (unusual) and that the cueritos on them were mushy and when she asked for her money back on them he had an attitude about it, which I believe given what I saw from him today.
