The location is very accessible by…read moretransit, but if you are driving, then you may need to scout out a parking spot in the sidestreets. It has a cosy, comfortably casual ambience. On a Sunday evening, it was quiet and intimate. Our server, whose name I did not learn, was excellent: kind and willing to make recommendations. Union Social has an excellent menu, with lots of diversity to cater to all palates, but not so many items as to be overwhelming for either staff or customers. We started off with cocktails, and my son's Citrus Mule -served according to tradition, in a copper mug - was so tasty. I enjoyed my Smoky Apple Old Fashion so much. It is worth coming here for a cocktail alone. Now, on to the mains (we skipped the appetizers, but the shrimp tacos did look tempting). I explained to our server that I was torn between the Smokehouse Beef Burger (which I regretted not ordering on a previous visit) and the Spaghetti Positano, a seafood pasta finished with lemon-herb breadcrumbs. She enthusiastically and energetically recommended the pasta (I love it when they actually give a recommendation, as opposed to, "Well, it depends what you want"). I was not disappointed! The seafood spaghetti was terrific! Surprisingly, the breadcrumbs more than compensated for a sprinkling of parmesan. I savoured the leftovers the next day, and I'm still thinking about it. The other diners, who ordered Cobb Salad, the Chicken Sandwich Special, and the Tuna Bow, were similarly satisfied. Apparently, the Steak Frites and the Fish and Chips were outstanding, as was my Pasta Positano (especially for garlic lovers!). A few other diners ordered dessert: they each had creme brulee, smoking hot from being freshly torched. The surface featured that perfectly glossy, lightly burned sugar, which always reminds me of a caramel-colored skating rink. The dessert was, according to my daughter, who is a connoisseur of creme brulee, was perfectly done. To finish off, my son (don't worry, he's an adult) had an espresso martini. I had a sip, and I can totally vouch for it being so divine! We had a very satisfying meal, and I'd only wish that I knew my server's name so that I could acknowledge how excellent she was. I'll be back. I keep planning for the burger, but right now, I could sure go for another helping of Spaghetti Positano!

We dined on a Saturday afternoon, so business was on the slower side. At first the service was great, however after we were sat the staff seemed to neglect us. Our server was very disorganized, letting us know he'd grab something for us but go and do 4 other things like grabbing drinks/plates for others and then forgetting about us. He touched 4 other tables and chatted with customers in between dropping off the bill and grabbing the moneris machine for us...now the food was fine however portions are very small and it was very expensive. If I were in the area again I wouldn't recommend coming back.

The Cask Social Group has had Events at Granite before; the previous one I attended took place on the same day as the Brewery's Annual Anniversary Beer Fest. last summer (2024) and I've attended the last 3 of their beer fests going back to 2022. I first visited Granite back in in 2007 when I met the Founder and Owner of the Brewery, Ron Keefe at a beer sampling and learning Event with a beer lovers social Group I used to help Organize. Since then I've been to Granite many times for various other Events with the beer lovers Group and other social Groups I've been a Member of, including their Sunday Buffet Brunch which I believe they no longer have. I've always had a quite enjoyable time there as the venue is quite spacious overall and their back patio (they have a front patio too) is quite nice, spacious and covered in case of inclement weather. The Brewery's beer selection has always been quite solid with a variety of offerings featuring many different styles and flavours. Other than brunch - which has always been quite good - I don't believe I've had any other meals/food there. I plan to continue visiting for their annual beer fests as the 3 I've been to were all very enjoyable.

We came to celebrate a friend birthday. It's nice to dress up and go out and enjoy a wonderful dining experience. The service is just impeccable. They are so attentive and really provide that white glove service. We shared the bread with hummus and I got the Romaine Hearts to start as well. I'm so disappointed that I didn't capture a picture of them. The bread was fresh and warm and paired nicely with the hummus. I really enjoyed the deconstructed Romaine Hearts - Caesar dressing, chopped egg(I removed the chopped egg), Parmesan, & toasted bread crumbs. I really enjoyed the presentation and the toasted bread crumbs. For my main my friend and I order the Halibut and my other friend got the gnocchi. Both were just delish! The gnocchi were just pillowy and soft with Maitake mushrooms, wild garlic leaves, peas, porcini cream sauce, and Parmesan crumble. The halibut was cooked to perfection. I really loved the flavour and the bacon added that saltiness you wanted to balance out the rich fish beurre fondue, sherry vinegar and veal jus reduction. I really wanted to order the coconut cream pie which they are famous for but we brought in a cake for her birthday. There is a cake cutting fee, but they did nicely cut and plated the dessert which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and I will not be waiting another 20 years to return!

It was busy even on a Monday. The restaurant is located on the lower floor of a condominium building accessed by an elevator or a staircase. The complimentary coat check is at the entry of the upper stairs. This restaurant definitely qualifies for a date night or special occasions.

After calling 7/8 places and getting laughed at, Kramer's still had a humble corner for us in their upstairs lounge. Needless to say, it was packed! We found a spot near the projector, (which by the way needs to be fixed; there were some bad/distracting spots) but it was okay given the circumstances. There were just two servers working on the upper level and they were absolutely slammed. They told us to go to the bar to get our food orders, which took forever - obviously because it was such a packed night for them. We ordered a few drinks, and some apps. The food was pretty generic bar stuff - jalapeno poppers, fries, etc. Portions were perfect to be shared with friends on a game nights. Lastly, I was impressed by how well they managed the crowds, given this was not a normal Monday night for them. I'd definitely consider coming to Kramer's for big games, as long as they replace the projector on the second floor.
