The vibe of the place had me a bit confused, the menu wasn't quite giving sports bar but there are TVs everywhere and people were getting very into the game on screen. I'm back at Bistro Twenty 4! It's been a while and I have to say service is always excellent! Staff is always so friendly and attentive. I went for Thanksgiving. It was pretty busy since they only stayed open until 5pm. They definitely booked which was nice to see. It's always a nice ambiance. You have the bar, screens going if you prefer to relax and grab a drink . Food wasn't bad. I thought it was a tad bit salty. We started with the Pulpo and that's a winner in my eyes! Flavorful, tender ! Delicious!! I honestly would of just have that as a light meal haha! I didn't want to share. That good! Then I ordered the Black Pearl Salmon . Came with rice and veggies but I subbed veggies for a salad instead. They do give a huge portion of rice! Too much! Salmon was very good . And salad was tasty ! My dad ordered chicken masala and he enjoyed it. Overall it was good. He did say it was a tad bit salty . I had enough rice to bring home and share with him! I forgot to mention they they bring warm bread before the meals arrive. And they have great desserts too and a great list of cocktails and mocktails! Great location and environment. They also have a nice private room for larger groups that can be reserved. My expectations on the gnocchi were pretty low. I knowingly broke a rule I have of never ordering Italian from a place where Italian isn't the primary focus. The gnocchi itself wasn't that bad. The sauce left a lot to be desired. We chose Bistro Twenty 4 for Mother's Day dinner. It was excellent and the service could not have been better. Their veal is pounded very thin and some of the best I've had. Jeff, the owner, really wants to please his customers. Francesca, our server, checked with him about a couple of special requests and he had no problem at all. We live in Milford and it is not an easy trip for us; but it's always worth it. We have never been disappointed thanks to Jeff and his staff. read more

Mad a reservation for a party of 22. Arrived in time for our reservation and the waiter acted surprise when I told him who I was. All the guest were present appropriately 15 minutes after our reservation time. It took the waiter at a minimum to come over and get our drink/ appetizer order. In fact we had to go to the bar because of the poor service. Not to mention there were two staff serving the entire dining room. They were juggling the bar, walk-in and a reservation of 22 people. Luckily, not all 22 gust showed up but 16 did. The food was decent but the service was very poor. I was very upset due to the fact that the reservation was made a week in advance and I asked if they could accommodate a party that larger and the answer was yes. If you knew you had a party that large then you should have had enough staff to cover your dining room. I will never patronize this business again. read more

A hidden gem! And one of the best chicken ceaser wraps, I've had in a while. Located on Whiting Street , Bistro 24 is in the little Plainville village. The street is filled with small local restaurants. But I'm happy I decided to peek into this one. I went in on an unusually busy evening and ironically wanted something quick. The server was very honest and polite about the back up in the kitchen while running 3 different parties. They made me a drink to start with refreshing blueberries so I couldn't even be upset. Our waitress was phenomenal and suggested the stuffed mushrooms on the specials menu and they were big and had real crab meat in them. I was impressed. As I mentioned I was hungry and wanted something quick so we ordered a couple sandwiches, one being my new obsession the chicken ceaser wrap (with tater tots) and the other was a grilled chicken pesto sandwich on a ciabatta bread with sweet potato fries. Both were so yummy. I'm a dipper so I asked for a side of ranch and it was homemade and I ended up requesting an extra one to go with my leftovers because that's how good it was! We had a very nice meal. The ambience is cozy, modern feel and the service is friendly. We went early for dinner to avoid the Friday night rush so it was quieter than normal. What a terrific find! Went for dinner with friends and from the moment we walked in it just felt comfortable. A pub environment with a broad and eclectic menu that has most entrees in the $20 to $30 range. Large tvs tuned to sports run silently to allow you to talk with table mates without having to shout. The food portions are plentiful without being overwhelming and there are all the standard drinks PLUS many unique and innovative offerings. Our server was Anna and she was as pleasant and attentive as one could be. Engaging and smiling and truly made us feel more like we were friends (though it was our first time here) than as strangers that she had to interact with as part of her job. Had dinner last night with my husband, we shared the grilled octopus, mediterranean style for an app, it was delicious and is actually plenty for an actual meal. I came here with family and friends a couple times and it is definitely on our weekly places to go! There is lots of space inside, with a warm welcome feeling! The servers and bartenders (Jo and Robin) were great and we even got to meet the owner, which he should be very proud of his new place! The drinks were delicious, but the food was even better! The spinach artichoke dip was so flavorful and the consistency was perfect. My husband loves Octopus, so he ordered it as an appetizer. He was very impressed with the app, and said it was the best he has ever had! My burger was cooked perfectly and the Nashville chicken sandwich was actually spicy which we were very happy about! My mother had the meatballs and she was part of the clean plate club! The Chicken Pesto Sandwich was to die for, extremely soft and juicy! Overall experience every time was 10/10!
