Our goal was to grab a burger before 5:00pm. If you're short on time I would not recommend. About 3:15pm we stopped in to grab a quick a burger. We had been here once before so I chose this over Hop Haus due to the extensive burger options. We were told to sit wherever and someone would be with us. After we found seats and sat down for a few minutes, then friends of the server/bartender came in. They were excited to see each other, so of course they were greeted and served drinks before us. Not a huge deal, but I noticed it and it made me feel like we may be put on the back burner for the rest of our time. Our burgers came out on a large English muffin, mine happened to be burnt. It took ten minutes to get the servers attention again to let her know that the burnt English Muffin needed to be replaced. The burger was good after they replaced the English muffin. The delay in service is what completely threw me off. Even making better eye contact with the dining area when bartending would have helped so I didn't have to wait for 10 minutes to let them know my bread was burnt. I didn't want to eat it that way so I waited. It took time to pay the bill as well. We left at 4:30pm. Maybe today was an off day. The food was good though. read more

Finally made it here after years of driving by. We started with a Pineapple jalapeño margarita while we snacked on some coconut shrimp. We also got barbecue ribs with cheesy potatoes, and the meat literally fell off the bone, everything was so juicy and tender. This place has such great food! I got their Mac & Stack burger and their burgers were massive. The ambiance was themed around trains, but subtly, there wasnt a lot of train themed items. The service was incredible, as our food came out fast and hot. If there are also any railfanners out there, the restauraunt is located right next to the Berlin train station. The only takeaways I have is that there could be more train themed objects and serving the burgers on hamburger buns instead of English muffins. Stopped by because my friends were playing pool here. Cute little place right at the train station in Berlin. They do serve food but I only had a drink.. a yummy pumpkin martini made with pumpkin purée. That made it honestly, it wasn't artificially flavored pumpkin. It had a carnal cinnamon/sugar rim too!! I really like this place! Bartender/waitress was very friendly and answered questions we had about the menu and cocktails. The summer cocktail menu was excellent, I will definitely go back to try some more. My husband had a mac and cheese/bacon/chicken dish and loved it. Huge portion and he took half home. My son ordered a burger and it was served on English muffin which is different but it was really good. You got to enjoy the meat and toppings instead of having a mouthful of bread. Stopped in here to meet some friends for a drink. The owner was bartending as well as going around and saying hi to everyone. I loved that I got to meet him and see that he really care about his clientele. This spot has a great community feel with people from all ages having a good time. I love their outdoor space. I was sipping on my drink and a bartender came back around to confirm I was actually enjoying it. They're doing some renovations on the top floor as they just opened it, but I have a feeling this place is going to get more popular once that top floor is finished! The staff (2 girls at the bar) were very friendly and gave us happy hour prices for our drinks before happy hour even started. Myself and a few other coworkers ordered food as the night progressed. Honey chicken tenders, loaded skins, sliders, french fries and buffalo chicken tenders. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The tenders were perfect and very tasty (buffalo ones a bit too spicy), sliders were to die for. Cooked just right and the perfect size. Overall we were pleased and impressed with the food. The chef came out to check on us and asked if we were enjoying our meal, which I thought was a nice gesture. First of all, the server and chef were very accommodating of our request to order from the lunch menu, even though they normally only serve the brunch buffet before 1 on Sundays (see prior post's buffet photo--very accurate). To start, the bloody Mary's were very tasty and well sized and a bargain at only $3! For an appetizer, we had the garlic Parmesan chicken wings and they were the best wings we've ever had! They were big, juicy and incredibly crispy! The housemade blue cheese dressing was also delicious. For our meals, my husband had the egg and cheese burger, very tasty, but cooked more well than the ordered medium; he still enjoyed it, though. I had the veggie wrap with the housemade kettle chips; also quite good. The kettle chips were especially good--definitely recommend them over the fries. We went here right as it opened on Sunday. 4 adults, 2 toddlers. The atmosphere was nice for the family- loud enough that the kids noise wasn't noticeable to other diners but quiet enough that the adults could converse easily. We liked that. The entire place was being staffed by one woman. Shelly was tending bar and waiting tables. She was extremely friendly and did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable. She gets 5 stars. Unfortunately whatever was going on in the kitchen wasn't good. We waited over an hour for our food. It wasn't particularly busy either- maybe 4 people at the bar and 2 or 3 other tables. The food was good- the fries were tasty but nothing else I tried was memorable enough to mention. So overall the service was great but the food and it's timeliness was a big issue. What an upgrade since the last time I have been there which has been a few years. Inside is clean and upgraded. They were even flushing out the taps which is I rare (ahem, Chicago Sam's). I've been looking for a decent place for wings as they are becoming fewer and further away. We had the buffalo garlic parm which I've never seen on another menu. Wings were meaty as hell and flavor was awesome. The wrap, burger, fires, etc were great as most bar food leaves much to be desired. Though I live in Berlin, I'm okay to drive further for better food and service. Both of the times I was there, they ran out at least two entrees on the menu, but the restaurant was not busy. One time they ran out of eggs. Another time they ran out of the beef special. With a discounted voucher I purchased through www.localflavor.com, my meal was reasonably priced. However, I appreciate the upgrade from the previous owners. Therefore, I will still go there from time to time to support a business in town. read more

Being here for lunch on a Thursday, I will give the service level a pass. The bartender was the only staff member present on the floor, so she was responsible for the entire restaurant. Understandable - it's Berlin, not West Hartford. The revamp of the old "Center Station Pub and Grill" is quite nice. Still blue collar in nature, but much more modern and fun. Two dartboards, a pool table, some nice HDTVs at the bar and around the restaurant. It's too bad the location is so hidden - I just hope more people find out about it to complete the social scene. The food was REAL good. I had the Cajun chicken bacon wrap and devoured it like a horse. Lots of options for sides - french fries, sweet potato fries, side salad, and my choice, the kettle chips. They were seasoned too. My lunchmate had a tomato basil bisque that was actually quite excellent as well. Berlin's been waiting for a professionally run downtown pub. Oh might I add she's 5 & 1-2 My philly was unbelievable it was not a traditional with the processed cheese but tasty none the less a side of onion rings rounded my meal The crab cakes on the other hand I had mixed feeling on the outside coating was excellent but the inside tasted very good but was not my favorite texture wise our waitress was very attentive the food came out nice and hot and not long ticket time either she was very accommodating as since the little one didn't overly care for the dish we ordered some tarter sauce and were promptly taken care of I will go back again but I don't know that I will order or really recommend the crab cake to other people read more
