Creamy and spicy, only if you mix in the hot parts. They come to table and weigh the meat in front of you so you know what you're paying for. It is cooked rare or medium rare. This is NOT like steakhouses in NYC. In its own category. It was presented with melting bone marrow, sea salt and cut off the bone. Extremely flavorful and tender. My only issue is that the fat doesn't render and there was silverskin in some pieces making it inedible, plus you've paid for this by weight. Great attentive service by Nick

Happy to say this place is still just as amazing as I remember it almost 10 years ago!…read more A couple of girlfriends and I discovered Pensavo Peggio during our first trip to Italy in 2017, and it quickly became one of the reasons Florence became one of my favorite cities. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot! It just goes to show that sometimes the best memories--and the best meals--are found when you venture off the beaten path. Some places are simply worth coming back to.

Everything that we ate here was so good that we came back multiple times! Our favorite dish was the Fagotti Cacio e Pere which was handmade fagotti stuffed with cheese and pears, in a pecorino cheese cream, crispy nuts, creamed red fruits, and Tuscany honey. The fagotti itself was so flavorful and the sauce was sooo decadent, sweet, and creamy. We are still dreaming of this pasta. The Pici in Rivolta was pici spaghetti that came in a sauce with slow-cooked braised beef, mushroom, onion, and olive oil. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth and the sauce was so rich. And last but not least the tiramisu was so good! We sampled so many different tiramisu while in Italy but this one was possibly our favorite one. Go check them out if you're in Florence!

I am very responsible as i went already twice and have been super slow and lazy until that point. I like the place a lot, it is really charming and well decorated, full of colors. First time was for pizzas (which is one of the big speciality) in July. They serve really big pizzas but you can ask for having half of one taste and half of another and then share with someone, which is what i would advise for reasonable appetite. Both me and my three italian friends approved the pizza: they are good. But please, with such a heat, put the AC. As good as pizzas were, i would not come back in summer with such a heat... It almost ruined the dinner. The second time i went was more recently (and with a reasonable temperature), and this time i had some meat, which was tender and tasty as often around here, plus a very good appetizer : a kind of millefeuille of eggplants, tomatoes and mozza: delicious. Two things to add: people are very welcoming, and you are offered a glass of prosecco which is nice. In brief: just put the AC in summer, and it will be perfect. (Note also that prices are somehow in the higher range for Florence, not super cheap).
