BUYER BEWARE!!! This shop will take your money and not send out the order. I fought with shop for 3 months to get my order fulfilled. The owner charged my credit card for over $100, never sent the order out until I called the card company and they contacted me. She actually went into my personal account and changed the last order I made in 2022 to fit her answer to the card company. I finally got the order but was short for 4 items no longer in stock, she owes me $24 and will not communicate with me via phone or email. I cannot drive otherwise I would go there in person. Her customer service stinks big time and she evidently doesn't care because I have found other similar complaints about the shop. I am not letting this issue go, I have sent a file containing 19 pages of dates, amounts, and communications from the credit card company to a local national TV station for action. read more

BEWARE!!!!! I give this shop no stars. I ordered a tablet for my handi quilter on September 29 2025 as of about November 18 2025 I was still being told it was on a truck. By this time I am beginning to think it was never ordered. Sew I told them I was going to dispute the charge on my credit card. At that point they were very happy to quickly refund my charges with no fees. The refund came through on a text. Funny thing is the refund still has not shown up on my credit card today December 1 2025. I called my credit card company and they do not show a refund done. Sew I still have to open a dispute since I never received the product. If I would have read the reviews I would have seen this has happened to other people. SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

Bought a longarm and pro stitcher lite $$$$. Told my machine would arrive in 2 weeks. 3 months later it arrived. Delivered, set up was ok. Multiple problems. Days waiting for returned calls. Showed my frustration and was given a free class. 3 days ago problem with machine so I called Handi /quilter, explained my problem and they told me to call retailer since it probably needed repair. Called, /bits and //Pieces, spoke with Heather. Told her my problem and she told me Liz, the owner would call me as soon as she got to the shop. 2 days later I am still waiting for a call back. After spending thousands of dollars, I guess it's just the sale that is important. Called another retailer, please bring machine in anytime, turn around is 1 week. Guess what!!!! This shop needs a total revamp including customer service lessons. It's not my first time dealing with the shop, I've been physically in the shop, bought there and taken project classes. I placed an order in mid-November and am still trying to get a response from the shop as to "where is the order". The order was over $100 and thanks to "gut feelings" I placed the order on a charge card. According to the shop the order was complete and I would get shipping updates. My charge card was charged for the order amount, I had received no shipping info so I emailed the shop, two days later I received an email from Liz saying she would check into the order status. Days go by, no further response so I contacted the card member services and they were very quick to reverse the charge and start a fraud complaint. I then received an email stating the order was "revised" in December. Items were taken off as they were now out of stock, this led me to believe the order was never really filled but my card was charged. Order still to this date has not be received, a call was placed to the shop, " we are very busy", took my name and order number, they would check on it. I am now contemplating requesting my charge card be replaced. No wonder this shop is not BBB listed. read more

Went to the shop on Thursday February 15th to check out the fabric selection and my wife wanted to pick up some 108" wide fabric for backing of a quilt she is ready to finish. I am in a wheelchair and the store is listed as wheelchair accessible so I tried going in as I love a good fabric store as well as anyone. I could barely get my chair through the isles so I decided to wait for my wife in the car. It was difficult at best to turn my chair around so I could get back out. My point here is do not list your store as wheelchair accessible unless you provide aisles wide enough to navigate. The 90 year old lady with a walker was having difficulty navigating the narrow aisles as well. Outstanding selection of fabrics, but not wheelchair accessible as advertised. read more

I was very disappointed. There was fabric everywhere in bolts on the floor. There was no rhyme or reason to the organization. I couldn't find anyone to help me locate what I wanted. I didn't recognize any designers of popular fabric. Prices were very high. It was impossible to find written patterns, layer cakes, etc. I tried it, but I won't go back. They need some organization. Wandering endlessly through bolts of unknown design is not my idea of a fun visit to a quilt shop. read more

I was a big fan of BPQH. Loved watching Comment Sold and purchased several times over a couple sales. I even work for another fabric company and referred customer to their shop because of their vast inventory. Well, all that changed. My last order was late in shipping by about 6 weeks. I had to write several times to finally get it mailed. Nothing was back ordered, so no excuse for not shipping quick. When I finally got the package, it was missing an item. I know this happens, and kindly wrote to them 3 times trying to get the item that was missing. I never got a response and of course never got my item. No apology, no refund, nothing. Needless to say I won't buy from them again and no longer make referrals. read more

Liz, I wanted to reach out and let you know how my experience has been in ordering from your store. I was very surprised to see that you don't offer free shipping once a purchase amount is met. I was adding items to my cart, and decided to check your shipping policy. Unfortunately, online you're shipping page lists a range of $8-$30 for up to a $300 purchase for domestic shipping. I then chose to order only a couple items I needed and deleted some from my account. I received an email that my shipment was on the way. When I clicked a link to your store in the shop app, it shows Free shipping on orders over $100. I was immediately frustrated because I would have easily paid that to avoid shipping costs. I called at 9:11am and the lady that answered the phone said she doesn't think it's always free shipping over $100, but would let you know. At 9:18 am, I received a call from Kristen. She said she thought it was clear on the website that orders over $100 were free shipping, that you were out of town, but she would follow up with you when you return. Kristen offered to refund the $8 shipping if I wanted to order more to equal at least $100 total including the $25.98 I had already spent. She said I could place the order as a store pickup so I wouldn't be charged for shipping, and my order would ship that afternoon or Wednesday morning if I missed cut off time for Tuesday shipping. I placed a 2nd order at 9:47 am and called Kristen back to let her know it had been placed. She said they would get on it and hopefully it could ship out that afternoon. I know there is a 2 hour difference in our time zones, so it is understandable that it's almost noon there be the order may not go out that day. Fast forward two days to Thursday. I received an email at 11:03am for a partial refund. It appears in the last 48 hours after placing my order, an item is now out of stock. I'm not sure what happened to Kristen claiming my order would be sent out Tuesday or Wednesday. I don't know if the inventory count was off, or if the item I ordered was purchased and ran out of stock after I placed my order but prior to my order being processed for shipment. Either way, I see plenty of opportunity for an improved customer experience. This by far has been the worst experience I have had in ordering online from a quilt shop. Most of my shopping is done online. I have purchased from quilt shops all over the US. Maybe online sales don't equate to much for your business. Maybe as a customer I don't see the reasons that free shipping isn't advertised, why staff told me what I wanted to hear but didn't follow through, and where the inventory issue of letting me pretend to purchase an item I wanted works. Maybe it's too much to ask that if an item sells out but as been ordered, a person email from staff apologizing for the error would feel like a better experience than an automated refund notice which didn't explain why I was getting a refund. Maybe I had false expectations that Kristen laid out saying my order would ship out Wednesday morning at latest. All I know is that if a customer reached out to me about the shipping error and I told them we would take care of them, that customer would have been a priority in an effort to smooth their experience with our store. On December 14, 2021 I brought three prints up to be framed. I was told they would not be done before Christmas but could possibly have it done before New Year's I agreed and put a $500 deposit down. New year came and went I started calling second week in January left message after message after message finally I stopped by to see what was going on. Problems with delivery of frames , things backed up. Waited a couple more weeks then started calling again left message after message after message finally was able to speak to the owner Liz on Friday, February 4. She said she would call the vendor find out what was going on if we needed to change the style of frames she would call me back on Monday let me know what she found out. Monday came and went without a word. I Called Tuesday left message called Wednesday left message called Thursday left message finally Thursday evening I called them back told them I want my prints back and to refund my deposit. I walked in Friday afternoon Liz walked right by me "Hi Anne". Directed me to go to the back room where another associate would get me my prints and refund me my money. No apology no conversation no explanation. I love to support local businesses but I would never do business with Bits And Pieces again nor would I recommend them to anyone I'm fully aware of the back ups and delays caused by the pandemic but a simple phone call or a follow up goes along way in my book. I do both hand and machine quilting and can always be sure to find what I need plus good advice from experienced quilters. I find their service excellent. My quilts have been delivered as promised and this week I dropped off a quilt I needed in a hurry. I was told it would be done over the weekend. I got a call Friday afternoon that it was ready. Great work! Also love to buy fabric there. If you're stuck for that last color the whole shop will jump in and start searching to help you get that "just right" fabric to complete your quilt. read more

I wish I had heeded the negative reviews for this store. I ordered fabric on line on 1-2-16 for a quilt I am now working on. In spite of e-mailing them twice they have not responded. It's now been two weeks and still no reply and no fabric. Obviously Customer Service is not a prioity. read more

I brought two quilts in to be stitched and was given a 3 to 4 week lead time. The first quilt was ready in FIVE WEEKS and I was told it would be ONE more week for the second quilt. ANOTHER THREE WEEKS later the second quilt was still not done, and after my pushing and complaining, the shop owner agreed to have it ready in 3 days (it took 4 days). The first quilt came out beautiful and was of high quality work that I was very pleased with. However, it was obvious that the second quilt had been rushed and was of VERY POOR QUALITY. The batting was not flat and folded grooves could be felt through the quilt layers, the backing material was not flat and had half inch bubbling ridges throughout the entire quilt, and (other than the borders) the quilting was sporadic and not what I had asked for.Upon expression of my dissapointment, the owner was very pleasant and offered to restitch the quilt and have it ready within the week. Encouraged by the work on the first quilt I accepted her offer and I even offered to remove the initial quilting (to expedite delivery) but was told it was unneccessary. I stopped into the shop after 3 weeks to find that the initial quilting had not even been removed yet. Dissapointed that the owner did not take the opportunity to redeem herself and her quilting services, I requested a refund (which was provided without issue) and took my unfinished quilt (after TWELVE WEEKS). I should have heeded earlier reviews but as it had been two years since the last review about quilting services I figured things happen and businesses change and decided to try them out. This shop has significant TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES, an INABILITY TO DELIVER upon promised leadtimes, and most importantly POOR COMMUNICATION skills (as I never recieved any phone calls or updates indicating unforseen time delays). As a result this shop will not receive any future business from me, I have a daughter who will not have the quilt that was planned as a gift for her birthday (which is in 1 week), and I pulled out all of the stitches so it could be REDONE. I don't understand these reviews at all. I bought a quilting machine from BNP and my service could not be better. They were wonderful for support. When I had problem with tension they had me come right in. When I said I might have made a mistake buying it was to much for me I was told to come in every week if needed till I was happy. I now LOVE my machine mostly because they offered so much help. As for being friendly..beg to differ on this too. Usually you are greeted within minutes with offers of assistance if you need someone to help. On a Saturday or Sunday may take a little longer because it is a small shop and it gets very busy on those days during peak times. I don't know about other reviewer but I hate it when shop workers hover over me when I am trying to either browse or match something on my own. That being said everyone at BNP is more that willing to assist if you ask for it. I myself don't want to be escorted around a shop and being made to feel I have to purchase. Maybe other reviewer should have asked someone. After all...it is a quilt shop....Not Neiman Marcus haute coutoure when they come to you with the bolts of fabric. read more

I go to this shop when I am back in Pelham, I find it disconcerting that the moment I walked into the store, nobody said hello, and after about 1/2 hour of wandering around, nobody asked if they could help me find anything. It doesn't matter that they state to have 5000 bolts of fabric if the people that own and work there won't help you. In the past I have purchased fabric for various projects to bring back home with me, I always support a local business, but this time I didn't buy all the fabric I had wanted to, I walked out. I will never give these people my business again, and will never endorse it to anyone else. The one star is much too generous. read more

I have visited this shop 3 times and I am really happy with my shopping experience. They have a code word every week for a discount and that really helps when quilting on a budget. One day I had prior week's code and they still gave me the discount (they must have just changed it that day). I have yet to take a class or have anything longarm quilted there but I really like that they are open late and on weekends. read more
