Was in Folsom at Rita's, but after polishing off a gelati, still had that sweet tooth. A few doors down, Cupcake Craving was closed (cupcakes tantalizingly still in glass display case you could see through the window though)...and Yelp told me nearby was yet another popular sweet treat -- BJ Cinnamon! Hard to miss from the main road. Chocolate croissant donut FTW. Well, since it was the afternoon they only had one croissant donut left, which was the chocolate flavor, but fine by me! Cheaper than the ones at Baker's ($2.50 compared to $3.50), more croissant in form/shape than donut, but too cool to be abbreviated in name to doissant or cronut. Super nice guy behind the counter -- when I got back to my car and opened the bag there was an extra glazed donut in there too, no charge! As the sugar granules that coated my first-ever cronut hit my mouth, I felt lucky to be the owner of an additional cronut, waiting for me patiently in a white paper bag. Both cronuts were from BJ Cinnamon, which featured chocolate-glazed, maple-glazed, and sugar cronuts as part of their wide variety of donuts and baked treats. I tried BJ Cinnamon for the first time 2 days ago and had a great morning as a result. From their cute, powdered sugar covered cream puffs to the donut and cronut I tried, everything has been really good. The staff is really nice and welcomed me right away to the bright, tidy shop. A bonus: the cashier who helped me threw in a glazed donut and an extra cream puff on the house. I shared the cream puffs with my coworkers and they liked them. I will be back for sure! read more

Not just a donut shop. The cinnamon rolls are just out of this world. The place is immaculately clean. You could eat off the floor, and seriously, I would do the 5-second rule here based upon how clean it is. Well, maybe not, that's gross... or is it??? Seriously, this is a wonderful place and the family that owns it works it too. I had Mom/Grandma helping me out and she was so charming and sweet to me. Nobody is sweet to me, so big plus. Mostly, that's because of my personality, but I digress... The folks here are super nice, and it shows that they care about quality and repeat customers because they are so attentive to quality, flavor, and price. True story, I live in Bakersfield but have to travel for work. Charisse A. saw this place on Yelp so I re-directed my route home from a business trip to come check it out. Great job Yelpers! You pegged the 5-star rating perfectly. It is well deserved. So, when we went to Tahoe for a wedding, we planned our trip home to make a stop here again. Who does that? We do because it is that good. The donuts are so soft and they last about 2 days which is pretty awesome!! Considering a lot of donuts aren't good anymore after a few hours. I swung by this Hometown gem on my way back home to Sacramento for their highly regarded cinnamon rolls I've heard so much about. Cinnamon rolls are my dietary Kryptonite--meaning they have a weakening effect on my willpower and are one of my favorite "naughty"foods. I was greeted by a cute, clean and bright interior with an extremely well appointed display case, chock full of beautiful donuts and muffins..they all looked amazing. At the very end of the case sat incredible looking unfrosted cinnamon rolls. The young man behind the counter, who was extremely friendly and nice asked if I wanted icing on them, to which I replied "yes"...then he poured a very generous amount of beautiful, flowing icing from a milk type pitcher. OMG! These took me back to Folsom High school's warm, gooey cinnamon rolls I used to get in the morning from the cafeteria, which is now a middle school just down the street from here! It's so yummy! I love how it's old fashion and simply a well made donut! My very first visit was mid morning. I knew what I wanted, the test is a plain glazed twisted donut. I also added a French cruller with the pink frosting a few cream puffs. I wanted a donut that had guava cream filling but they were already sold out. The behind the counter gave me a extra cream puffs. I didn't know until later when I opened the bag to start munching. I was busy staring at the cinnamon rolls when I paid because I was debating if I go for it, lol. Everything was perfectly soft and fluffy! I cannot believe I've been missing out on French crullers!
