Been my fav donut place in the area for years and my recent visit was just as good. Amazing croissant sandwich, amazing Cronut (my fav is the glazed or cinnamon sugar), amazing donuts and amazing cream puffs. I got a blueberry scone too and it was warm and moist. Even the coffee was good. I have also tried the sticky bun and liked it. Really can't go wrong with anything here! People are so nice too, not only they are always smiling, patient and pleasant, they'll almost always throw in some extra donut holes here and there as a sweet surprise. I recommend calling ahead if you have your eyes fixed on anything cause certain varieties could randomly sell out early in the morning, but if you call they will set it aside for you. Excellent donut place! I went in with high expectations cuz people be raving about this place. And my expectations met and exceeded!! Service is friendly and so attentive. I ask a few questions since it's my first time there and she was so patient and gave super good recommendations too. I got the cream puff which is so delightful, a ham and cheese croissant which is buttery and savory ooooof so good, a simple glazed donut which is soft and airy and a strawberry donut which is cake like in texture and deliciously sweet. To make things better she threw in a few donut holes for me. A few didn't make it home cuz I couldn't wait. They are so good too! And fun to eat. Another thing I wanna point out. I really appreciate the attention to detail. If you see the photo, she barriered the powered sugary cream puff from the savory item. Checked out BJ Cinnamon while visiting family over the holidays. You can tell the bakery has been here a while, but the proof is in their offerings. Donuts were delicious as well as the cinnamon bun. Ordered half a dozen and had a hard time picking flavors. After getting home, we took a knife and got to try all the choices we made- so good!! Staff was super patient with us as we made our donut selections. Luckily it wasn't that crazy busy.... Just the locals enjoying their (daily?) coffee and starting their day. This is our second visit here and NOW I know why they hold a 5-star average after 1000+ reviews! Last time we went later in the afternoon so maybe things weren't as fresh. But this time we visited on a Saturday morning. The place was full and line was out the door but we only had to wait about 15 minutes, so it wasn't as bad as it looked. I had overheard a DoorDash driver mention that it's not normally that backed up too. On today's visit I really wanted to try the seasonal pumpkin cinnamon roll. But we also got a glazed donut, raspberry scone, and a plain croissant. The croissant was for our son but it was so good I took a few bites myself! Normally I don't like plain ones but this one was so chewy and soft! They even threw in some donut holes into the bag for us. The pumpkin cinnamon roll was super warm and had the perfect amount of glaze on top. I liked it a lot better than the apple one I had last time we came, and the pumpkin flavor was definitely there. The raspberry scone was a beautiful pink color and full of raspberry flavor! The staff were very nice despite it being super busy. There was a pretty rude DoorDash driver but the guy kept his cool. Very good donuts overall. Great variety. They offer warm cinnamon rolls but the Pecan Cinnamon Rolls are the BOMB! They add delicious candied pecans and drizzle warm caramel sauce on top of the regular cinnamon rolls. Oh so delicious!! We have tried their custard filled donuts with chocolate, old fashioned donuts, crullers, glazed raised donuts, cream filled and all were delicious! We also love that this is very obviously a family runs business and they care about the quality of the items they serve! Wow. I was impressed! Their cinnamon rolls were warm and struck the perfect balance of soft and crispy, with scrumptious cream cheese frosting. Had this place booked marked for years and finally had the chance to try it. Now I know why this place was voted the best donut shop. Upon arrival, the lady who I assume is the owner, was so friendly! She asked what we wanted and said they have more in the back if it wasn't displayed. There was this strawberry cream ring donut I wanted to try and there wasn't any in the front. I believe they had to make it in the back bc it did take some time for it to be done. The strawberries were fresh and it was quite good. The cream puffs are a MUST! They are so good and you can't go wrong with the donut holes. Overall the service was decent and they offered a few unique options, like guava filled donuts, strawberry shortcake and Apple cinnamon rolls. I had the glazed donut and coffee. (For comparison purposes, I'm not a fan of Krispy Kreme's glazed donuts, they over do it in said categories). I really enjoyed the donut! The coffee was basic yet digestible. I didn't give the place a solid 4 because there were exposed donuts, sitting on the side of the display case, as if there was no place to put them. I saw a kid breathing all over the donuts, so it seemed a bit unsanitary to have them sitting near the entrance. ( Especially considering area COVID numbers are ramping up.) There were a lot of people working behind the counter but it appeared that they needed to delegate a person to work on tidying up the place. This place has become our staple breakfast joint every time we are in the Roseville-Folsom area. We have been to Roseville around three times in the past 4 months and their cinnamon rolls never disappoint. One of my sisters was visiting and spent the night at one of our other sisters home and decided to get donuts instead of Noah's bagels for breakfast the next morning. She also uses YELP and found BJ Cinnamon. I mentioned how both our eldest sister and I each have our own favorite donut shops at Folsom and Cameron Park so would be fun to try a new place together. Was a bit of a drive for us however we were able to shop at Trader Joe's nearby as well for groceries before arriving at BJs cinnamon. Once we drove into the parking lot I realized I have driven past this donut shop before just never bothered to enter because we always went to our favorite one just down the street from here. The selection is amazing here and ample. We were greeted in friendly welcome manner. We arrived about 8:30 a.m so not one of the early ones but grateful for the selection of choices left. We were up to 8 donuts so the lady helping us suggested we get one dozen since we were just 4 short from a dozen. She also was kind and placed 6 donut holes in the box for us. Donuts taste is overall yummy and good however not the best I've ever had and I'll continue with my favorite Donut shop just across from the Target shopping center. Parking is ample right out front and also nearby at the lot next door as needed. Plenty of tables and seating as well and there were a number of guests seated enjoying their treats. As we are taking care of the payment for the donuts the lady looks at us and says out loud while looking at me how I must be the mother and my sister my daughter since we look alike! LOL!!!! I was beyond shocked and speechless! My sister says how we are sisters and so the lady says how she could tell we are family since we look alike. I then in shock asked her in a calm manner if I look old enough to be her mother and she says how we look like family but how we must then have different mothers.... My sister then says how we have the same mother and father. We both tell her how I look more like our dad and how my sister looks more like our mom. I'm just 2 years older than my sister and most times people we meet for the first time who doesn't know us thinks I'm the younger sister only because I'm much shorter. Never in our 57-59 years together could we have ever imagined anyone referring us as mother and daughter! I shared this story with the same comic with our family later when we got home and everyone had a great hearty laugh and I said the next time we return here I should refer to my sister as "Mom" and call her mom for the fun of it! We were on our way to see fall colors around Folsom so we decided to get some desserts for our trip. Found this place via yelp and decided to give it a try. As soon as we entered this place, it was clean and welcoming. We ordered an old style donut, a chocolate filled donut and a cranberry danish kind of thing. Needless to say everything was delicious. My favs were traditional donuts and cranberry danish. We requested the staff to warm up the donuts and she gladly did and packaged it well.
